The project to build a bridge across the Mekong River in Kratie province with a length of 1,761 meters in Chit Borey and Prek Prosop districts and connecting roads and canals to Kratie city, Kratie province, with a total length of 33,459 km, achieved 41.81% And while the bridge across the Mekong-Kratie River has reached 55.83% as of June 2024.
This is according to the publication of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport on July 1, 2024
Please be informed that the bridge across the Mekong River in Kratie province used a concessional loan from the Government of the People's Republic of China and inaugurated the construction site on January 2, 2023 under the high presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, former Director The Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and His Excellency Wang Wentian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the whole project is scheduled to be completed before September 2026.
Indeed, roads and bridges are the lifeblood of the national economy and are the second of the five key priorities "people, roads, water, electricity and technology" of the first phase of the Pentagon strategy.
