It would seem, dear Angela, that you are at heart, a romantic. Good! The world needs as many as we can get. Thank you for another lovely review. All the best to you.
"Hard Habit to Break" off the same album is also great. On my slow jams playlist, I have 4 songs back to back that give off the same vibe and go well together. Chicago's "Hard Habit to Break" and "You're the Inspiration" and Genesis "In Too Deep" and "Throwing it All Away" All 4 came out around the same time and takes me back to my teenage crush days.
I'm an old man now, but Chicago was the communication that I had with my first girlfriend in 1983. These Chicago songs were about us. I love the way you react. I can see the smile it puts on your face. His name is Peter Cetera. Please carry on listening to this great band. ATB and P+L Nick..
Great reaction, great love song. Glad you enjoyed it. For a love song duet that he (Peter Cetera) does try “Next Time I Fall” . He sings it with Amy Grant. Original studio version is the best.
Written by Peter Cetera + David Foster. Produced by David. Peter on lead vocals. David on synth, synth bass. Last Chicago album for Peter Cetera. The infighting, death of Terry Kath, addition of Bill Champlin + drugs pit members against each other. Too much for Peter. Great performance! 😃 Suggested next Peter/David song: Peter Cetera. Glory of Love. 👨🎤
I'm aging myself, in 84 I was 14, my gf and I would roller-skate at my local skating ring. She lived 30 miles away. But she was always there to be my date. On her birthday I bought her this cassette tape, gave it to her. A year later, I was 15, my mother moved us from Michigan to Arizona. I had no choice but to break up. Years later Fakebook came about, I looked for her, only found her baby sis. Her sister told me that Lorraine had passed away with brain cancer 15 yrs ago.. she was my first love, and this was our song, although I haven't seen since we were teens. She's still my inspiration. Sorry, in tears typing this, thank you kiddo for doing this. Even though she passed, I'm still going to love till the end of MY time.
Peter Cetera duets: "Next time I fall in love" with Amy Grant, "Feels like heaven" with Chaka Khan, "After all" with Cher, "I want to take forever tonight" with Crystal Bernard. His solos "Restless Heart" and "Even a fool can see" are splendid.
Peter Cetera had a Monster Voice - high and crisp. Here's a song for you to react to that involved all of their singers - Terry Kath, Peter Cetera, and Robert Lamm - the song is "What's this World coming too?". Chicago knows how to rock - this song will surprise you big time! I couldn't believe it when I first heard it.
Thanks for doing this one. As I will be 48 next month, this song was a radio hit when I was about 11. Chicago and the Beach Boys are the two best selling American bands of all time! And I love them both.
This song is the TRUE meaning of love. Since I was so much into the 80's music .... my husband and I chose this song to play for our first dance as newlyweds. I just couldn't find a better song to describe how I much I love my husband and how much he means to me. Today makes our 10th wedding anniversary and our love is just as strong as the first day we fell in love ❤❤❤
Boy was this popular at weddings back then. Actually another one was his duet with Cher "After All," which I think you'll like too. She included it on her _Heart of Stone_ album, and if you're ever in the mood for some rocker Cher, that and _Love Hurts_ had a lot of great tunes. In fact, I'd like to request "Save Up All Your Tears"
What a great song, I was hoping you would get around to it! All Chicago and Peter Cetera is AMAZING! You would love "Glory Of Love" for sure...and many others
Also, this song and many others were produced / cowritten / arranged by the highly gifted David Foster. He is a musical genius. Produced or co-arranged or co-wrote at least 2 of Whitney's stunningly beautiful songs, "Run To You" and "I Have Nothing". The contribution of David Foster to any piece elevates it in beauty and will definitely leave a mark on you.
Hard To Say I’m Sorry, Hard Habit To Break, Along Comes A Woman. Peter Cetera the lead singer has a number one song Glory Of Love from Karate Kid 2 movie.
Thank you for the mention, Angela! I don't know if it was me or some other A G on TH-cam; however, I really enjoy your reactions to the ballads that hit straight to the heart. You're a ballad lover just like many of us on here who suggest songs to you from time to time. Thank you for reacting to one of many favorite Chicago songs! I've really enjoyed your sincere reactions to so many songs thus far. You really do seem to enjoy the ballads so much! May I suggest one? @ Will You Still Love Me? by Chicago Thank you for considering this request! There's so many amazing ballads one could introduce to you, but I'm sure you've heard your share over the years. We'll just have to see what you reveal about those with which you're familiar versus the ones with which you might begin to acquaint yourself by the many suggestions you receive here. Now that you know my enjoyment of them as well as seeing you react to them, I'll stick to ballads in my suggestions. Keep great music alive and reintroduce to your generation, Angela! As I watch your mannerisms and character reveal itself video to video (I have to admit, I haven't seen all of them, but I have quite a few), I can't help but think, if only I had a son your age so you both could occasionally hang out together, share, listen, and enjoy great music. There's so much wonderful music people from us older generations would love to pass on to you younger ones so that it can be assured to carry on for future generations to appreciate and remember as well as fully enjoy! Thanks again for your wonderfully sincere and beautiful reactions!
'Who says that"? No one anymore...thats why So few people know how to keep relationships from flopping, these days. Those of us who grew up with this music and positive examples of how relationships should be....we know!!
I'm an aging baby boomer who was fortunate to have grown up with music like Chicago's. It's nice to listen now and reminisce, but it was magic to have experienced it when it was fresh and new. Of it's time. Today's music is awful beyond words.
As a Generation X'er (I'll be 48 next month), I have always liked Chicago. Their ability to adapt when the 1980's came shows their amazing talent. And they and the Beach Boys are the two best selling American bands of all time! We certainly were spoiled with great music!
You should have been born in the late 60s, like myself. I was able to see so many concerts in the late seventies and eighties. Chicago probably five six times. Fantastic group! The '70s and '80s are great years for concerts. Those are just the best years in my opinion when it came to music. You do some great reactions. I love you! Keep the good music going. I see you're doing a lot of the Doobie Brothers, that's another great group I was able to see a few times. 🎸🎵🎸🎧🎶🎼🎸🎵🤣
That was our wedding song almost 34 years ago. I meant it then and still mean it today. That song still has a special place in our hearts. Every time I hear it, it takes me back to that special day.
Angela, love your reactions. Want to get your mind blown? React to Leonid and Friends cover of You're the Inspiration. I only found these guys about 6 months ago but they have been touring the USA for the past few years to sold old crowds. Mostly boomers like myself. Leonid and Friends started by covering Chicago songs only but have branched out to cover other great bands like Earth, Wind and Fire, Tower of Power and others. They are Russian and are the best tribute band I have ever heard. They try to replicate the ORIGINAL recordings. They are sooooo good that Chicago put one of their covers on their own website. Pick any of their songs and I guarantee you will be impressed.
What a great way to brighten my day and put a smile on my face!! Just hang out on the DayOne Reacts channel for a while!! There are so many great Chicago songs, but I would recommend "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is". I would also like to suggest "Landslide" and "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac, "Try" by Blue Rodeo, "Superman's Song (official music video) by Crash Test Dummies, "Patience" by Guns N Roses and "Battle of Evermore" by Heart from 1995 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony! Peace!!
Angela, the reason Peter's voice may sound "weird" to you is an incident happened that changed the way he sings. He was attending a baseball game, and got into a fight and his jaw was broken in three places. With his jaw still wired together, he went on the road with Chicago. He had to sing with his jaw clenched, and that became his singing style.
Chicago had an awesome brass section. You should check out some of their earlier stuff, "25 or 6 to 4", "Saturday in the Park", "Does Anybody Really Know What Time it is?", "Color My World".
To be honest, I always hated Colour my World. I found it boring until I heard this version - th-cam.com/video/Ts86Heyj_e4/w-d-xo.html. The strings at the end give me chills every time I hear it.
My favorite group. My favorite song from them is a medley called, „Ballet for a girl in Buchanan“. It has some of their great songs (Make me smile, Color my world) in it with really good transitions.
Pete Cetera was the final jewel that made up the Chicago (previously "Chicago Transit Authority") hitmakers we all came to know. They started out doing what we called "Big Band Rock," then morphed into a soft-rock band in the later 1970's - early 1980's. For more of the original Chicago sound in the 1960's (I mean the groups that came from Chicago, IL) listen to anything from the Chi-Lites (pop soul) and the Buckinghams (top-40 rock n' roll).
Angela, if you're considering going down a Chicago rabbit hole, be advised there are two phases of the group. Many people prefer early Chicago (I'm one), but the group was very successful in both phases. Early Chicago was a jazz-rock powerhouse, and their music encompassed rock, jazz, R&B, blues, a killer horn section, and a killer guitar player in Terry Kath, who was one of three lead vocalists (Robert Lamm and Peter Cetera are the other two; Peter sings lead on "You're the inspiration"). Following Terry Kath's death, the band took a turn towards power ballads such as the one you're listening to here, and Peter Cetera became the primary vocalist. Of the later Chicago, I like "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" best. Their earlier music is definitely worth a listen, though; I'd suggest to you "Beginnings" where Robert Lamm is lead vocalist, or "Color My World" with Terry Kath as lead vocalist. Both are love songs, so I think you'll like them. (:
For another classic 80s beautiful happy appreciative love song that will make you cry happy tears without being able to help it, try "Oh Sherrie" by the One. And. Only. STEVE PERRY.
Peter Cetera wrote this song for Kenny Rogers. But I think Kenny didn't have time to do it so it ended up Peter changed some keys to the song and recorded for Chicago 17. One of their biggest hits back then. Still an inspirational song.
I'm immediately thinking of my mom her butterflies, her beautiful singing voice. The comments about Saturday in the park are very true it's happy and upbeat my mom would sing the song to me all the time.
Angela... I feel like you're trying to find or rediscover a particular song from your youth? And sometimes you're excited because you feel like you're getting close to the artist that sings it or sometimes dissapointed because it's another miss even though it's a nice new song to listen to. IDK maybe I'm wrong. I know you get a ton of requests and it takes awhile to get to them all. Just thought I'd request this song again... Gerry Rafferty "Baker Street" Chicago "If you leave me now" is a good one too if you liked what you heard from chicago. He hit's some really cool high notes in this one. Don't they almost remind you of the Bee Gee's in that way? Maybe they were inspired from them.
What a voice.Chicago never misses no matter who is leading vocals, but Peter Cetera is just amazing "25 or 6 to 4" one of my favorites.Oldie but goodie.
I'm more into the very old Chicago songs. For example, from their first album (The Chicago Transit Authority (1969)) the songs "Poem 58", "Introduction", "Listen", or (more gently) "Beginnings".
Me too. I found out after hearing the song The Glory Of Love that Peter Cetera was in A BAND called Chicago, which in turn got me into Air Supply which are a similar sounding love song band. A funny thing I used to do was pronounce his surname CETera as in the last part of etc, if you know what I mean. DOH!🤪😂
If you want to hear a good wedding song, react to ' Two Less Lonely People in the World' by Air Supply and 'Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You' by Roberta Flack and Peabo Bryson.
You have to react to Frank Sinatra’s ‘I’ve Got You Under My Skin’ or ‘Night and Day’ (Best of Capitol Years). He was the pre-Elvis pop idol and he swings. The songs build to a crescendo of horns. You’ll LOVE them.
It would seem, dear Angela, that you are at heart, a romantic. Good! The world needs as many as we can get. Thank you for another lovely review. All the best to you.
Yes she is and that’s so nice
"Hard Habit to Break" off the same album is also great. On my slow jams playlist, I have 4 songs back to back that give off the same vibe and go well together. Can't go wrong with any Chicago Angela. Try "Feeling stronger everyday", an uplifting song that will show this bands versatility.
Since you mentioned Feeling Stronger Every Day, listen to this cover - it's off the charts: th-cam.com/video/xwYV4H9rU6o/w-d-xo.html
@@isaackovitz4791 TY so much. They nailed it! I'll be checking out some of their other covers.

This was a monster hit for Chicago back in the day. No doubt it was the vehicle of choice for the bride and groom dance at many, many weddings.
Chicago. " Scrapbook" is a great song to give a listen to!

Hi Ms. D., A very good group.. ♠W.G.
Chicago first concert I ever went to... Chicago 18
I am from Brasil.
Iove petercetera.
The Karate Kid II soundtrack, I guess Movie producers always choose great songs to be part of films.
This was not from The Karate Kid II soundtrack. The song you're thinking of is "Glory of Love" which Peter Cetera did solo.
Ceteras voice is like a trumpet
Peter Cetera wrote this song for Kenny Rogers. But I think Kenny didn't have time to do it so it ended up Peter changed some keys to the song and recorded for Chicago 17. One of their biggest hits back then. Still an inspirational song.
I'm immediately thinking of my mom her butterflies, her beautiful singing voice. The comments about Saturday in the park are very true it's happy and upbeat my mom would sing the song to me all the time.
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I believe this song was used in one of the Karate Kid movies. (not the first one)
That song is actually "Glory of Love" a solo by Peter Cetera
peter cetera has a great voice

A funny thing I used to do was pronounce his surname CETera as in the last part of etc, if you know what I mean. DOH!🤪😂
Next is glory of love and hard to say im sorry pls.
If you want to hear a good wedding song, react to ' Two Less Lonely People in the World' by Air Supply and 'Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You' by Roberta Flack and Peabo Bryson.
I highly recommend that you listen to the bands Air Supply and Reo Speedwagon.
You have to react to Frank Sinatra’s ‘I’ve Got You Under My Skin’ or ‘Night and Day’ (Best of Capitol Years). He was the pre-Elvis pop idol and he swings. The songs build to a crescendo of horns. You’ll LOVE them.
