Brit I'm proud of what your doing but also worried about you guys mental state after finding someone I hope you have someone you can talk to and help you through it. God bless you all
Thank you very much, I really appreciate your concern. We do try to change it up with treasure hunting and fun diving as well to try to mitigate the stress it sometimes puts us through. I appreciate you watching!
Great to see you in my State. that was my first question before watching your video. I'm a retired Police diver and it is against the law here in Michigan to dive in the Detroit River unless you gain permission from Police officials. Wish I new you guys were in town I'd come diving with you I'm a TEC Mixed Gas Diver.
Wow. I grew up in the Detroit area. Back then (60’s) the river was brown, smelly and disgusting. So glad to see that it is now clearer. Surprising visibility. Appreciate all you do. Please stay safe and keep searching.
Wasn’t just the sixties lol. Not sure I’d want to dive in there. And water that is too clear can be a sign there’s little to no life in a body of water.
@@depthsofhistory Well, the River Rouge dumped into it, and that was just a massive open ditch full of sewage and industrial waste. It used to catch fire fairly regularly. Really enjoy your enthusiasm and videos. Keep having fun.
@TheAmtwhite My dad was a Detroit cop, idk if I'd want to dive the river either. I remember seeing dead fish floating on the river in the 90s... that being said I've heard the sturgeon population is huge now and river otters are returning
Grew up in Detroit. Had a great opportunity to dive with the Detroit Police Dive Team in the late ‘70’s. The Detroit river current is wicked. Was able to retrieve antique bottles and a gun! Police told us that it’s not so much a gun, it’s about finding the right gun! Visibility is often very bad!
Hi Team, becareful and protect each other. Thank you all for literally puting your lives on the line to find the lost. Much love to all of the team. ❤❤🙏❤🙏❤❤🙏🙏
Surprisingly good visibility on that first vehicle. Even after disturbing the silt, the river current cleared it away quickly. I know that all of you carry multiple knives in case you get entangled in the fishing lines, etc. But you might also want to carry a tool with some heft to it to make it easier to scrape away the mussels and barnacles. You don't want to damage gloves and lights. You also want to use tools that help you to reduce your energy expenditure and the time below, as you are already getting exhausted by temperatures and currents. As we say, "Work smarter, not harder." It's been great to watch your skills and maturity grow over the years.
Hi Brit awesome dive buddy, the bond you have with chaos divers is second to none great job on diving 3 cars can’t be easy in those currents ,looked quite strong but visibility really good and man that is a beast of a boat got to admit take care to you all and safe travels ❤️🙏👍👌
Having worked in LE most of my life , it wasn't unusual for car thieves, to take the plate ,and the car gets tossed...where ever. In this case...the river.
Awesome that you guys came here to Michigan I always wondered you told my husband that I bet you that there's some missing people in the Detroit River and that we needed somebody to come and check our River
The water clarity was surprisingly good- and I don’t think in all the videos I’ve ever watched between multiple groups, I’ve ever seen that much muscles on the cars! Why is that? What’s the deal with that water 😂
@@amybostic1439 Zebra muscles are invasive species dumped by international tankers holding tanks into the lakes. The only good thing they do is filter the water so it is this clear.
@@depthsofhistory These invasive mussels filter plankton out of the water, which depletes it as a food source for native species. Large colonies can take over fish spawning areas and beaches, cutting the feet of potential swimmers. They also clog water intake lines because of their dense colonies. Zebra and quagga mussels can reduce water quality as they can increase the presence of toxic algal blooms, which can have health impacts on native wildlife. They latch on to boats and can be easily spread between water bodies. Ensure that all plants, animals, and mud are removed from boats and trailers before leaving an area to help prevent the spread of aquatic invaders.
Zebra muscle travel on boats that have been in waters with zebra muscles. Now most boats are inspected before and after entering the waters for muscles.
Cool video. As a lifelong Detroit resident, neat to watch. I bet if the car is missing it's plate it might have been misisng the plate when it went in. The long black Caddy you guys found makes me wonder if maybe Hoffa's car and Hoffa's final resting olace was the river. That location is close enough to the Gross Pointes. Wonder how many mob cars are down there
Great job on 3 dives in 1 day. 🎉 I know you must be exhausted from that. I do wish you guys would use some type of scraper to protect your hands and fingers when getting silt, muscles or other crud off the cars. I know you guys wear thick gloves, but I always worry that something very sharp will cut through the gloves and your skin that might lead to stitches or (worse) an infection.
Awesome video guys, Lots of history there..Shouldn’t y’all look inside the trunks of these vehicles for bodies as well..? I’d assume the plates were most likely removed before going in the river.. The ones without plates would be most suspicious.. Be cool to see y’all pull them out of the water and run the vin numbers/pop the trunks.. Try scanning along the wall from Wyandotte north up past mud island.. I’m sure that river holds lots of secrets..

I know you don’t go into cites for social visits, but I’m about 45 minutes from Downtown Detroit, I would have loved to have said hello to all of you. This is probably as close as I’d ever be to get to meet all of you. Also, you are the bravest men to jump into the “Detroit River” it has quite a history to it. From bootlegging to cement shoes, and as a disposal site as well. Even if I was brave and a very experienced diver, I wouldn’t jump in there. It’s awesome you went in looking for the missing lady, thank you for going above and beyond to find the missing
Wow! I can't believe you guys are diving in the Detroit River! Born and raised in Saginaw in 1958 as a kid I remember when Lake Erie caught on fire from the pollution! Also remember going to my grandparents house in Saginaw on the east side which meant you crossed over the Saginaw river and it never froze! Scary!
💟 Always a pleasure to watch you dive. Love Chaos divers as well, you are all Amazing at searching and bringing lost loved ones home. Thankyou and Stay safe 💖💙

My home town born and raised there moved to suburbs in 1980s lots of places to visit Belle Isle the zoo ethnic festivals concerts races Greek Town best chili dogs Greek Town casino and food
I erected that tent structure in background next to coast guard station.prior to it being there and north of it were years of abandon blight and access to dump cars I'm surprised only three there
We have to ask ourselves “Why arent our police depts with marine divisions and dive teams doing this kind of work” A load of heartbreak could of been avoided if these folks had been found decades ago. DPD has a pretty big marine division,Wayne country sheriff used to have a pretty big team. I mean come on. All these amateurs are making Pros look lazy. Maybe put down the ticket books and do real police work.
DETROIT River doesn't just run through DETROIT. Try checking downriver or up River east of Detroit. Rouge River holds a lot of secrets too but your boat will probably get tangled up in doo doo! You guys should try and see if you can find a lost case of Whiskey from the Purple Gang , but then again I don't think they lost any loads.
So glad he doesn't spend much time looking inside the vehicles. Might actually see human remains and that's the last thing we want to see down there, so thank you for that.
Why does anyone need police permission to dive or submerse in public open international waters? I magnet fish all along the shoreline of the Detroit River. I even magnet fish off boats drifting along the Detroit River. Why aren't there Detroit police diver's doing what you're doing? Looking for lost vehicles under water? Can't get away from doing quality taste testing at Detroit area doughnut shops to ensure total freshness of doughnuts being produced for public consumption? And quality taste testing every cup of coffee being brewed there too?
