    Shamrock definitely deserves to be inducted into the HOF. He opened the door for those going from UFC to WWE.
    This year is perfect. You have Brock v Lashley in a Lions Den match with MMA rules with Shamrock as Guest Referee at Wrestlemania for the WWE Championship. Who else would fit. step up to referee a Lions Den match?

    In the late-1990s, wrestlers in their mid-to-late 30s, who joined or returned to WWE, were generally used as "enhancement talent", more than anything else. Ken Shamrock was 33 when he debuted in WWE and almost 36 when he left the company in late-1999. I don't consider him to have been particularly old by today's WWE standards, but by the standards of the 1990s, he was. For that matter, so was Dr. Death Steve Williams, who competed at Brawl 4 All at age 38, even though he looked closer to 50, at the time. If not for his humiliating loss, Dr. Death's run would probably not been anything spectacular. He was best known in Japan, and by the age of 38, he didn't have enough time left to make an impression in the WWE.

    • @TFRANCHISETHERILLA
      @TFRANCHISETHERILLA 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You never know tho, I just wish they would have kept him out of the Brawl for All and actually put him (Dr. Death) in a PPV against Stone Cold.

    • @Scorch1028
      @Scorch1028 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TFRANCHISETHERILLA Well, consider this. In the late-1990s, Vince McMahon was still adhering to his "Youth Movement" policy, that he started in 1993, where he would move wrestlers in their late-30s to early-40s into enhancement roles or, if they were lucky, they were put on color commentary -- like Roddy Piper and Randy Savage were. Vince was very "shallow." He cared more about a wrestler's look, than his talent, and Dr. Death was 38, with the look of a man in his 50s, in 1998. His massive beer gut didn't help. Sure, Dr. Death was a legitimate tough guy, but he didn't have the look that Vince wanted for his top-level talent.

    • @paulearl8203
      @paulearl8203 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At no time in the industry was 33 considered old. I think Bret was 35 when he first won the belt. Think Austin was a similar age to Ken so was Foley. I think taker was 33 in 97 and just given the title. People closer to 40 were getting pushed out in 93 etc. But saying Kens age played a part is a stretch.

    • @Scorch1028
      @Scorch1028 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paulearl8203 Like I said before, I personally do not consider 30-anything to be "old" for a pro wrestler, but Vince McMahon began imposing his "Youth Movement" policy at some point in 1993. This is why he never gave Randy Savage an additional World title run, after he'd lost the title for the final time in 1992. Savage was bitter about this. To your other point, Ken Shamrock certainly wasn't old at 36 in late 1999 when he left the WWE. Additionally, Bret Hart was only 34 when he was given the World title strap in October of 1992, and at that point he had a lot of good years ahead of him. There isn't a clear point in time that I can think of when Vince changed his mind on his Youth Movement policy, and began letting guys in their late-30s to early-50s, perform in main events, but it had probably happened some time in the mid-2000s.

    Ken and Kurt Angle should have been brought in at Royal Rumble 97' and co won together went on to wm13 in also a draw until SummerSlam and him and Kurt in the first match and he barely defeats Kurt..being the winner he main events against the winner between Bret Hart vs Undertaker..Bret vs Shamrock has a twist as Kurt helps Shamrock win in turn leads to a (Bret)Canada vs (Kurt)USA feud making wrestling history.. Shamrock ends up at battling Steve Austin at survivor series.. while Shawn and taker is feuding.. Kurt and Bret have a loser leaves WWF in turn Bret goes to WCW and USA/KURT wins feud

    How would the Stu Hart Dungeon match have happened after the Montreal Screwjob? This is absurd. This totally exposes the Montreal Screwjob as being a work. It's Ken Shamrock's fault for his lack of progress in WWF. He didn't seem like he had a focus or goals for what he was trying to achieve. So if WWF didn't do anything with Ken after his main event match with Shawn Micahels at DX In Your House, that's his fault for not sticking up for himself and trying to position himself to stay on the top of the card.
