Thank you for this! My owners manual didnt give these instructions. The shelf came with the Ridgeland smoker, so I couldnt buy the shelf separate with instructions.
Great demo! After setting the brackets. I went ahead and installed the top two screws on both of the shelf hinges first. That way i could disperse the weight evenly while i set the bottom screws.
That would have been fantastic if it was that easy. All of my screw were extremely tight and all the welds on the barrel nuts broke trying to loosen the screws. After removing an additional panel, I was able to access the right side and hold the nuts with vice grips to loosen the screws. I would recommend doing this initially to avoid breaking the welds. Also, I have read many stories of folks having to cut off the screws and get new hardware. I used my grill several times before installing the shelf, I'm not sure if this added to the problem. Anyways, Be prepared for a little more hastle than the video portrays.
You can also go to harbor freight and get folding shelfs. Way cheaper and come in diff sizes. Or take the 60$ and buy a nice rolling tool cart that will hold 3x more stuff
Had to use Vice grips and several sprays of the Traeger degreaser/ cleaner, and a wire brush. I feel like Traeger intends this install for a brand new grill or as is the case in the video, people who don’t use it all the time like I do.
@@aAllGoodMedic I'm doing this on a brand new grill and they're still tight AF. I'm trying something else before they round out. Traeger should have used torx or hex head here
I just recently bought my grill, the rear bolts have to nuts holding them together, now they’re stripped. Who’s bright idea was it to put those in there?

Anyone having trouble removing the screws from the left side? Mine just turn but don’t come out.
I have this issue on all 4 screws. Did you figure out a solution?
WD-40, a drill gun (slowly pulling the trigger), a another person and vice grips (man grip on that shit) Good Luck Kings
