I've had a Traeger Lil Tex since 2006 only had to replace 3 hot rods and one controller. Overall it's held up pretty good and made some of the best pulled pork my family has ever had. I found for long cooks and getting smoke penetration I run mine at 180 for at least 50 to 75% of the cook.
I have a WSM and seriously considering getting this grill. With the WSM i am stuck outside for hours babysitting it. A lot of the things I have smoked came out bitter.
I have had a Traeger grill for 3 years know and have no problems runs as is should. Smoke ring every time and it fits in with my busy life I get to have get bbq and don’t have to manage a fire
Good to know James, I think that's a big plus for me with the busy lives we have but still able to enjoy good BBQ at the same time. Thanks for watching. 👍
Another superb vid Johnny mate. Not at all relevant to me as I ain’t plan on buying one but an interesting watch anyway. Must say ur channel is quickly becoming one of me guilty pleasures 👍🏼
Hi Johnny, adding to my famous two words I previously wrote, I’ve realised that those words are a “copy written slogan”, in all seriousness though Johnny I would be happy to help you with some great music that is one hundred percent my own, I have dabbled in a little discotheque disc jockeying back in the day and would be more than happy to dust off my pioneer DJ controller and give you some decent music for your ever growing channel 🤙….. I specialise in strict dubstep only if you are interested in any help/ collab (collaboration)
New Sub here! Great video! I know you said there was a great smoke ring, but normally smoke rings don’t equate to good smoke flavor. So, was the smoke flavor good, not enough, or non-existent?
Hi, thanks for subscribing 👍. That's an excellent question. I've been thinking about it this morning. I would say that it was Ok. I don't know about you but I certainly tend to find the smoked flavours intensify on day 2 (that's if there are any left over of course 🤣 - in this case there weren't). The best example I have is the smoked mackerel pate that I did, letting that sit in the fridge overnight certainly intensified the flavour. That's maybe a thought for the future rating the overall smokey'ness of the dish as well. What about you, does it vary cook to cook or depend on what you're cooking? Let me know and thanks for watching.

Thanks Stephen, that's good to know. It's a long time since 2006 so build quality must be excellent on the Lil Tex as well. Thanks for watching. 👍

Thanks Dickie 🤣. As long as it inspires you to get cooking then it's all good. Fancy some pork or beef ribs?

I have been thinking about getting one of those
They are really good and certainly and certainly a welcome addition to Bad Weather BBQ. Let me know if you decide to get one and how you get on. 👍
Great vid Johnny, I’ve got 2 words for you “finger licking good” 😋
Thanks Pete, love it!!🤣🤣

Something's off about that build, mate, Where's the swearing and the angrily chucking parts about? Maybe that's just me...
Oh that's easy......there's a reason there always some music over the unboxing 🤣🤣🤣
