Cord comes to you courtesy of Bart over at www.extremepara.com. Check him out if you want good cord at a good price. He sells lacing needles like the one in this video, also, along with a ton of other stuff.
I think I used about nine feet of cord in this video. Depending on how loose or tight you tie the cross, you may need more or less, but nine feet is about right, or it felt about right for me -- then again, I like having a lot of cord left over. I'd rather have more cord than less.
Honestly this is the best sailors cross video I have found and I gotta say I really appreciate the tutorial as I love this cross! Keep up the great work my friend.
Still one of my fav videos on this project. Making a couple tonight as gifts for friends.
BRO TY very much i love to make knots and to sail so this is like a gift. I send you a big big hug and plz continue doing this kind of videos. peace.
No problem. Thanks for the kind remarks.
Thanks you for sharing how to make this cross , great video easy to follow.
Great tutorial Phillip. Thanks for the mention also.
Well, sure -- you shipped a bunch of cord out to me pronto, which allowed me to get a ton of projects done on short notice. Least I could do.
Phillips Knotwork No comprendo como te has liado tanto. Básicamente se trata de hacer una cara, hacer la otra cara, y duplicar todo; y hacer el remate. Gracias por tu buena voluntad.
I'm just grateful someone can make heads or tails out of the video with me going off camera half the time and with the piece so far away.
Great Video Phillip. Easy to follow and understand. And yes, Slipknot rules!
Agree on all.
Ahhhhhhhhh, you are the man, I finally did it!!!
Just wanted to say awesome tut I was able to follow it and finally learned how to make this cross thanks to you I do have a question would a 2 color sailors cross be possible
Hey that's a good vid right there. Not much of a Cross person, but I might try this once. :D
Eh...well, you know me, man. I'm not much of one, either, but it *is* worth learning. I'm thinking about doing another one that'll show how you can extend all four ends.
Great video, rare to find for this project. Only problem was it was off screen so I couldn't always compare to make sure I was at the right place. Since you are the only one I found so far, any chance of doing it again?
It's possible. I was just watching it again a few days ago and it was pretty annoying when I went off camera. I have some time off coming up, so who knows?
excellent instruction, thank you
Ha! You'd think so, huh? Nope, my kid had seriously knocked at the door and I figured I'd better take care of her since it's pretty cold and raining on and off.
Looks nice.
Thank you. Semper Fi!
The video starts of great!, but then you forgot to keep the cross "in Frame", I could not follow you at that point, I could only assume! I cannot find any one else doing this cross and i would really like to make it. Please consider remaking this video.
I've considered remaking it. If it helps in the meantime, you can find static instructions in the video description.
Nice video but it was confusing for those of us that are not as advanced to follow later in the video when you were working outside of the area the camera was recording. If you could remake another video that would be greatly appreciated
What is this Turks head called if it wasn't tied as a cross... Thank you... Kenn
+Kenneth E Hockenberry Essentially,it's a long two-bight knot with extensions to the side. A four-bight version exists, but it's fairly difficult. I wouldn't want to imagine a six-bight version.
Stormdrane has a great video on tying a long two-bight Turk's head.
+NinjaRv1 Do you know where the 4 bight cross video is... Kenn
I also have a Word document with the same sort of four-bight TH cross -- however, it requires some drilling into PVC pipe, printing a template, and putting pins into the correct positions. Let me know the best way to get it to you.
+NinjaRv1 Thanks I have that... I was hoping for something better... Have you tied the 4 bight TH cross...
I have, but it is far too long for any sort of video.
Tyle gadał, że spierdolił całe wideo (o_0).
how can you filming at your forearm instead of Sailor Cross Knot .. dang it
Please do.
complaining about people that don't show the whole process... Make the video over...
smoke break, :-)
