Alan, a super experienced river and stillwater fly fisherman asked me to help cover some of the basics as he gets into Euro Nymphing. Unfortunately, we were met with day of flow bumps that led to some less than ideal conditions. In this video I go over some basic concepts and a few tips to help a new Euro Nympher out. We also found a decent BWO hatch and had some fun for a couple hours.

Glad the fish responded well to the flow bumps and weren't too put off by all the debris in the water.
Im new to Euro Nymphing and I appreciate this video. It is nice to actually be able to see the sighter in your video so I can see what you are doing. I like the tips about the sighter angle having influence on the sink rate of the nymph. Shallow equals a slower sink rate while closer to 90 degrees will allow the nymph to sink faster and it was great to be able to see the downshift in speed as well. Very helpful to be able to visualize it.
I told Allan we had good light for the sighter to show up on camera for once, so I was glad that it did!
