  • Went film the Swampstawmpa down in Grand isle Louisiana. He threw maily a corky soft dine purple and chartruese with a twitch twitch sink retrieve. He ended up with 10 trout,2 redfish,and a bunch of small flounder. Resulting in a Louisiana slam. Winter time the trout and other fish get down into deeper holes because of low water and the thermal layer is down on the bottom.Using jigs,twitch baits,swimbaits,bottom style lures works well in colder days but dont be afraid to throw topwater on warmer days sometimes thats the key for big specks.The speckled trout ranged from 12-18 inches,redfish were right around 26,flinder were small around 12 inches.

    As always it was fun to get out and do a little fishing with my buddy Doug! If you didn't walk to that side of the road and observe those fish coming to the top I wouldn't of caught half the fish that k managed to get! Paying attention to the little subtle signs like that will turn around a tough day!

    Awesome stuff man. I’ve never fished that side of the road. Last weekend, I caught six in the pit behind y’all.

      That's the forbidden hole and the colder and windier the better it is! Last winter we caught 100 specks there!

    Those pits are also fantastic this time of year . The sows move in there and stay the entire winter . Slow sinking big flashy jerk baits worked slow over them is the ticket . Regularly a 3 plus average is the norm.

    It turns blue when they’re feeding off shrimp. Work for the marine biologist down here in Texas and that is one of the main questions we get asked.

    They say when their tail is blue that means they are feeding hard and the blue is from the blood rushing hard through their body

  • @voodoo7vin
    @voodoo7vin 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Blue tail is from them feeding heavily. The mode active they are the bluer the tails tip. So yes the more blood running through that red body the bluer the tail.
    The other rumor I've heard is it means they have their tails in the mud on the body. Hence the blue coloration. So Happy Tails to you and yours friend. I'm Jd your local commentor
