    Hello everyone, hello @Chris Richter.
Thank you so much for your videos. I learn a lot from them.
I have been designing a course series on moodle 4.0. I want the students to access the next course only after an initial/previous one has been completed. Which is what led me to this video. From what I can tell so far, “Course completion” does not allow course restriction (it works only for grades and analytics purpose). All my research didn’t match as I decided to post a comment here to ask for advice or any other solution that might work.
    Thanks a lot.

Hi Philippe, I think you may be looking for this plugin. moodle.org/plugins/enrol_coursecompleted I haven't tested out this one but it looks like it might be what you need for your course workflow. IF you do test it out, let me know how it went.

Love the tutorials - really helpful. But there's one thing i'm really struggling with and thats actually grading the course. I've obviously missed one vital section but the grades come through from the different sections (quiz and reading material), i see a pass of fail grade, as well as the pass total and grade total, but as the student, they don't receive a grade as when i log in as the teacher, i have no options to actually pass the student. ANy suggestions or links that might help? thanks 🙏

Hi Aaron, This video was about course completion which is a separate area to the grading section. All grading happens in the grade book. Both these. videos might help. th-cam.com/video/bUufLNKzLF8/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/RkTDLC3NmlM/w-d-xo.html

If you go into each activity as a teacher you should see the option to grade students results or you can go into gradebook for the course, then select the activity at the top of the column and grade students work. A really useful plugin is called GradeMe which shows any grades that you need to mark for students.

@@Ricoshae Hi, thanks for the reply. It sort of relates to this as well though as when i select 'Course is complete when ALL conditions are met', it never shows the course as being complete despite all conditions being met. The only 2 conditions i have are 'all selected activities to be completed' (i have only got 'pages' in the topics which are set to 'Student must view this activity to complete it'). The only other criteria is that 'Any selected roles to mark when the condition is met' with Teacher being selected. The rest aren't selected. If i run through the course viewing all pages which shows the activity as complete, then go in and tick the box as a teacher, the 'course complete' box remains unchecked. However, if, in course completion, i set the initial box to 'Course is complete when ANY of the conditions are met', this then works. But i'd like to set it that ALL conditions must be met, not ANY. Thanks, Aaron

@@Ricoshae a further update as i narrow down the issue. It seems that when i select the Manual completion by others (i'd like a Teacher to give the final 'ok' before the course is complete), i then select it so that ANY selected role (or ALL selected roles) and this seems to be the blocker to the course then automatically being marked as complete, despite me logging in as an Teacher and marking it. very odd.
