Couple weeks ago I did my first trip on a skiff, quite the learning experience. I don't have good balance so that made it much hard standing on the front platform. Had a lot of fun though.
I see that big fat “G” on the casting platform of your “Hell’s Bay” Waterman. Gorgeous boat. Thank goodness Tom kept that hull alive. Thanks for sharing your set up.
This premise and content is really fantastic. I’ve always wished more guides would give an “inside look” on the way they run things. A guides’ fly box channel would be killer. Thanks for the knowledge!
I'm really liking the eldora and the new simple skiffs coming out. When I move back to the US I will be looking for something like that to get back into the skinny back lakes for fly fishing
I’m down the road a piece from you in Seadrift/POC. After they finish our bardo we will be calling to book a trip! Absolutely love the HB! I built the micro version and next winter will be building a little bigger one of Chris Morejohn’s plans (old HB designer/builder). Peace and tight lines…~Micheal
Beautiful skiff. I have a 2002 17.8 Whipray that is showing its age. I am wondering how your experience was with the factory refurbish and what did it cost? I made an inquiry to them and they kind of acted like they didn't want to do it. I love my boat but know that I could love it even more!
I don't know how much it cost. Original owner had it done right before I got it. I have a couple of clients wait 18 months to get a new Waterman built, so I'm sure restorations are pretty low priority now.
A lot better than you would think. Trim tabs make a huge difference. It's not a bay boat but I can usually get around unless it's too windy to fly fish.
Cool set up. I don't know alot about boats. Does the front deck ever get slippery? I know the decks are made for moving around on them and I have seen like a Sea Deck material on them before.
I wish i could find that exact skiff for sale. Seems like there aren't that many waterman center consoles out there. Every time a waterman comes up for sale they are always side console or tiller. Keep up the great vids alvin!!
This is where I will be the rest of the year.
that's a beautiful skiff! hopefully I'll have one of my own some day. I'll be on my kayak and wading til then 😅
Sweet!! My bass boat has a 4 stroke Yamaha 225 and it purrs like a kitten love it.
Very nice boat, one day I will have me one
On my home waters. Great tour of your rig and really enjoy all of your content! Keep up the great work, Capt. Alvin!
Awesome! Thank you!

Yeah I got that casting platform from a buddy, decided to keep the "G" on there for the good karma.
Saw you there on Friday morning. Was gonna swing by to say hello but everyone was in a rush to get on the water! Loving your HB!
Next time!

Thanks for watching!
A rad boat, indeed! Thanks for poleing us around and finding fish for us for a few days 👊🏽
Any time!
Looking forward to a day or two on that rig one of these years! Solid platform!

Lot's of good options out there.
Very cool!
Great boat for a great dude!
Thank you!
Love your boat brother.

Let's go break some rods!
That is an AWESOME skiff!
Thanks!
Cool boat. Much different rig than we use up here in the Lake Erie chasing walleye. 👍
Fantastic video and boat, Alvin. Love to see you and Ty collaborate on a fishing video sometime soon.
Great setup! I hope Yeti sponsors you a bit, if not they should!
Yeah I am one of their ambassadors, but I bought plenty of stuff before I was.
I like your working place.
Me too!
Those steps on that poling platform look slippery AF, bro😱😱
Good vid brother!
Glad you liked it
That time I zigged when I should have zagged and had to jump off the front. Good thing the water was like 12 inches deep. 😄
We have all been there.

Howdy! Love the channel! Great work! What music is that in the beginning of the video? I really like it. Thanks!
I live down the road from you In corpus. We have a lot of wind as i'm sure you know. How does your skiff handle heavy chop?

What’s the shallowest you’ve taken this boat?

What inflatable life preservers do you use?
Alvin what is the name of the Simms pouch you have your rainwear in?
I'm not sure, someone gave it to me. The zipper is not waterproof though.
I hope you are getting that yeti stuff at least half off.....
I know a guy! 😂
What are the black spikey looking things along the sides of the bow?
They keep the line from getting blown off the deck. I didn't realize I left that part out until after I uploaded the video.
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing Thanks!
Do you submerge or try to keep the hubs and axle on the trailer out of the water?
I try not to ever get them wet.

I have a couple of clients who just got a new center console Waterman., but I haven't seen any other used ones.
Beautiful skiff! Do you have a preference on casting platform height and width?
I didn’t know you got Merch! What about stickers??
Found them!
