Jonathan, I wanted to give you a huge shout out for all of your videos! I applied a lot of it to my first big buy in tournament and was able to take first. Thank you for all that you do!!
Excellent analysis on this good point that the turn board favours the button more than UTG, and thus is a flop that I will be check raising more on as button usually bet any old cards when a K hits and it’s good to clear out the overcards
Nice run at the main event, did just a bit better than Phil Ivey. Just curious about something. The WSOP website says you finished 339, and Phil Ivey finished 340. Yet Hendon says you finished 316. Which was correct?
He’s not a savage lol he’s just a calling station. Watch the old big game, David Williams is a CALLING STATION. Called down 10s as 4th pair in a 3 bet pot
David Williams might be a calling station(I don't know), but his call was right. I generally agree with most to almost all of what J Little says, and I know that J Little advocates a mix of GTO, exploiting, reading, instead of just PURE GTO, etc, but sometimes despite that, it seems like J Little sometimes puts more focus, emphasis, importance, etc, on GTO, over READING, Exploitative. The reason why I went into that, is that 98, because bet the flop, and turn SEMI HARD, that altho players can sometimes do that with draws, bottom pairs, especially if the are good, balanced player, and I know that 98 is a balanced, good player, but even with that, a player is probably more often betting top pair, middle pair, 2 pair, set, etc, something that not a straight draw, etc, then betting a draw. That means that on the river 98 was more likely either a bluff, or hands like K6 suited to KT, Q8 to QT, J8 to JT, T8 to T9, 98, 97, 96 suited, 87, 86, 76, 75, 65, 64, 22 to 55(since 98 was on the button, he probably could be, was raising very wide range). Now some of that range could have David beat on river. But because 98 was betting so semi hard, semi aggressively all the way to river, it's probably not as likely for 98 to have one of those hands that could have a straight to beat David. When combine that with GTO frequency calling range frequencies, in this situation, David made the RIGHT call. Yeah sometimes in this kind of spot, if one calls like David did, then 98 player can still occasionally a hand that's a straight, beats you, etc, but between some to most of time, and enough of the time, 98 player does not have a hand that's a straight that beats what David had, 2 pair, etc. David was likely playing according to good reading, good hand range reading, and playing according to likelihoods, GTO frequencies, opponents GTO frequencies, and what he David should do GTO frequency wise, and according to exploitative poker, and situational reading, situational hand range reading, betting reading, etc, all mixed together. And that's what the best players do over only going by PURE GTO frequencies, etc.
Victoria Coren-Mitchell played this kind of competition really tight, almost no risks at all. She was short stacked a lot but was able to get to the final table and almost won the whole thing. I think a mix of starting tight then exploiting the image at the later stages would be ideal
Who has been YOUR favorite poker player to make the World Series of Poker final table? 🤔

Appreciate the clear explanation, thanks! 👏

@@mikehickmanvloggamessingin3604GTO should be talked about most. It's the most important, it's perfect.
