- Alice Cooper recalls the days when unknown local bands were sharing the bill with unknown bands from across the pond like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
Many years ago Cooper proclaimed in an interview that he could imagine himself at age 80 performing as the ringmaster of his own rock 'n' roll circus. He'll get there yet!

I'm glad he wasn't just polite and said he likes todays music. I don't always think its that they're afraid to be outrageuous, its just that they lack character, they're just mainstream people, they dress, speak, act, and you name it, the same way -- if people could live in a world listening to chart music for 1,000 years they would. Then there are solo artists and bands who do have talent and character, but are afraid to show it.
Hey, kids, lighten the f'k up. It's only rock n' roll, but we like it. He's an extremely unique and talented musician, and smart enough not to f'k up his personal life in spite of it. He has a great family life, he's sober, and he's smart. Very few people get to experience that in their life.

and he has never once dropped the ;effort to tell people that he's playing a character. Theatrical Rock and Roll is what his style of music has been called. And it's called art. don't take everything people say so seriously. If fictional writers were titeral it wouldn't be fiction, it would be non fiction. and there would be no imagination. We wouldn't have expresionist art or comic books today if everything written in this world was all about real things. And it's not silly its reality.

here, I'll give you an example. brutal planet. the verses discribe murder and chaos. All the evils of man, then the chorus goes into "this world is such perfection, it's just like paradise....then it goes into "it's such a brutal planet it's such a living hell" now think about it, based on the discription this world isn't perfection or paradise. yet the words are in there out of sarcasm. they are not ment to be litteral.

reziztanze He's not singing, number one. lol number two he's not singing about himself, he's making stuff up about his character that he created like a character in a movie or book. the words in brutal planet has an ultimate message, and alice himself pointed it out in another interview, there are choices you have to make in life. The choice between good or evil don't choose evil you have a choice between heaven or hell, don't choose hell. Dudes name isn't really "alice cooper" anyway. And the show isn't geared towards kids either. But he makes it a point in interviews to tell people it's not real it's fantasy aka fiction for the purpose of entertainment. His life and his work do not overlap.

if you read his lyrics, you'll find he quotes scriptures from the bible, believe it or not. And places a listeners choice. here's a quote from him directly "...Good or evil?...don't choose evil. God or satan? Don't choose satan." simple choices that in going back and listening, even showed up when he wasn't following his faith.

btw, do fictional writers write what they mean? Are they writing what actually happened or are they writing based off of imagination? Think of Alice as a fictional writer writing songs based on a nonexistant character. that's how he sees it and that is how he should be looked at. If it was nonfiction alice would be in jail or in a mental prison.

wow, you have no concept of art and song writing. not everyone writes songs souly from personal experience. Alice cooper you must remember is a character. And Alice the man loves reading horror novals. he's based a lot of his song stories off what he's read particularily on murders and sereal killers. true in some cases he may have placed personal experience in there to make the character more authentic. he has mentioned that his faith in God has played a role in some of the content.
