Ikr? That’s summer for you here in Scandinavia, it’s awesome. I used to pick worms at night for fishermen when I was young. They come up at night in the wet grass but because it’s so bright I had to pick from midnight and by 2.30 the sun was already brightening up from the north-east. It’s beautiful.
@@TheRealD4 when there is snow it is not that bad. I have found that southern Sweden is far worse than up north where there is lots of snow. It really brightens things up. Even in Kiruna, where the sun never rises, it still feels brighter than, say, a rainy day in Örebro.
It's funny, when you finish a 100k ride, the prospect of doing the same again seems insane, but that's cuz you didn't visualize the ride like that. If you plan to do 200k, after 100 you're thinking ok, half way

@@TheUnlazyWay Fascinating! I'd love to see you make more videos about your country and culture one day in future as I think it would be super interesting. Reminds me of a series I found in the corner of TH-cam about this guy who documented random Finnish people on his travels: th-cam.com/video/_kVVbYvJkfQ/w-d-xo.html
I couldn’t stop thinking how he got all of these shots. E.g. did he carry a drone at the lake? When he pulled into the airport did he drive there, put the camera there, and then drive into it again? Also some of the shots on his bike are very “forward” yet I don’t see any stick, really perplexing but great!
I can answer some of these. Yes he does put the camera and then drives there, that's why he's saying vlogging is hard, the effort that goes in those shots is crazy 😂😂😂 Also there is a trick with GoPro360 view, to set the camera a certain way so that the stick is not visible, it's pretty simple actually.
@@is5268 Oh super interesting! Thanks for sharing! Yeah this was excellent, it was like you were actually there (minus the hours and hours of biking not shown 😂).
10pm and still that bright out... I never realized just how far north Helsinki is compared to where I live (cold lake). Well I just learned something new.
Such an interesting storytelling and adventure - would love to see more of these but i know you like to change things up. Also journal was on point 👌You gave me an idea to go camping by a boat here in Montenegro 🍻
i did a 160km ride just for fun in my first year of cycling, including over 2km of elevation as well. The trick is to have a good, efficient bike(Alternatively good legs), minimal luggage, idealy stick to 2 bottles and food only what can fit in your jersey pockets. The first big bike adventure always feels long though. My first real bike i struggled to get home.
@@comrade_youri2966 with good cycling paths, comfortable saddle, bibshorts, and good grips and enough breaks its not that hard. of course it is a good days work and im exhausted afterwards.
According to my math, you could've ridden through the night and arrived in the afternoon. Or you could've left really early on day 1 and arrive in the wee hours of the morning the next day, skipping the need to sleep at all, saving on weight as you wouldn't need to pack as much.
Any somewhat fit cyclist can finish a ride like this under 10 hours, many in less than 7 hours. I for example did 105 km in 2 hours 49 minutes. Slowing down to a 200 km pace I could probably finish under 7 hours. Edit: The point being, you really don't need to carry a whole lot with you. High energy foods, two water bottles (you can refill free at most gas stations, and while you're at it buy some quick food) and your repair kit. That's literally all you need.
@@kccccccccccccccc0904 100km in 3.5 hrs is a decent pace, but 4 hrs would be getting slow. 200km is very doable in a single day of around 7-9hrs, on a road bike that is... On a heavy MTB like his, I wouldn't even consider doing this, just a word of warning.
Went on holiday in the south of France and did the last 140 km in a bike, fixed gear, all the stuff on the front rack. All I can say is it was beautiful but I won't inflict this on myself again lmao
