Very helpful video!! Super helpful vlog. We are cruising to Mexico in coming spring. And returning back from Dallas airport on the same day at 6 pm flight. Do you think that is doable or have a high chance to miss the fight?
Tell me about the transportation opinions on Galveston, such as bus and trolley? Do they go to the cruise piers? Will they let you on with luggage? Thanks!

@@rachelakeroyd286 I always advise a day early. Look at this cyber breach. Light signal could be affected, bad traffic jams, roads shut down and more. Get there early to start your vacation adventure early.
Thank you for this information. I'm so happy I found your channel. I need all the information I can get for our cruise in March of 2024. RCCL Harmony of the Seas. I was looking into some Airbnbs for our pre stay. 🙏 And from reading the comments we better book very soon. 😅
My opinion, Galveston has some learning to do about cruising. We’ve been on numerous cruises out of Ft Lauderdale no complaints, Galveston was a horrible mess, embarking, disembarking, and even on the ship, continuously very contest and lengthy waits. Disembarking was by far the worst I’ve seen.
Galveston is bringing up their game, and they need to! The big ships are here so the big crowds of people are coming too. We’ve sailed out of San Juan, Long Beach, Miami, Ft Lauderdale and Port Canaveral. Long Beach was a pain embarkation and debarkation. Miami made us want to scream. San Juan went smooth. Canaveral has been smooth and a waiting game. We’ve got faith in Galveston being prepared for the party! Thanks for watching!
Was stuck out at sea for over 8 hrs due to fog. People going on the next cruise out couldn’t find places to park until we disembarked. The streets were lined with cars. This was a RCCL cruise and I think Carnival had a ship stuck out there as well. This was towards the end of January so not like it would be during the summer months. Galveston is a mess and not very convenient unless you live around the area, which we did but it was still a bit of a drive and traffic is ALWAYS a mess here.
I will be sailing out of Galveston in Sept. 2024 on the Harmony of the Seas. I have tried to book a hotel on Galveston Island. Today is June in 2023, so we are still 15 hours out. Every single hotel there and up the coast all say SOLD OUT. I have been on almost 50 cruises and have never seen all the hotels already sold out. Where can we stay?
Hi Sharon. That’s so frustrating. This happened to us once when I tried to book my hotel a year and a half in advance. Ultimately I kept checking and was able to find a place about 8 months before. Keep checking and Happy Cruising!
I've noticed many don't allow reservations that far in advance. We were JUST able to book a room last week for March 2023. Maybe give the hotel a call that you are interested in and ask them if that's their policy as well. Good luck!!!!!
If you are looking for just one night, that might be your problem. At least some of the hotels only book two nights or more esp if one is a Friday or Saturday.
Great information. We plan to fly into Hobby for our Feb 2024 cruise on Harmony of The Seas. This port is a logistical nightmare compared to the ports in Florida. I think I know the answer to this question but are there any hotels in Galveston that offer a shuttle from the AIrport? I know the cruise line shuttles are an option but, based on my research so far, I think I want to be as far south as Texas City on embarkation day and not sitting on a bus fighting traffic from the airport.
Thank you. I like to give everyone the “ heads up” when traveling to this port. I haven’t found any hotel in Galveston with airport shuttle. I’ve found several independent companies that will transport you. Thanks for watching!
No it’ll take you an hour or more to get to Galveston from Houston depends on time of day. I have family in area & have taken 6 cruises from that port.
Heavy rains the night before your cruise may also delay boarding. The entire port area floods, and cruises have to wait until the streets clear of standing water! Also, try to avoid cruising during Galveston’s Mardi Gras. Streets will be blocked, making it difficult to get to your hotel and/or to the port!
Yeah the itineraries are mostly the same. Fortunately in late 2024-2026 there will be some Panama Canal sailings, Journeys Cruises & Southern Caribbean sailings. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing! I’m booked on the Jubilee and I can’t wait!
That’s super exciting!!! Happy Cruising
Thanks this very helpful ❤👍🏽

I believe it’s doable but unless any delays take place. Happy Cruising and thanks for watching!
AWESOME INFORMATION 🎉
Thank you. Galveston is a fun port to travel out of. You just need to keep in mind a few things.

Thank you!
If you cant find a hotel on the island you can always try to find a place in Webster or Dickenson which are both just up I45.
Great suggestion!
What if I’m a local I live in Houston, should I still come a day early or should I just leave early the day of my cruise?

Glad it was helpful! Welcome to the family. Yes, book early and happy cruising!
Alot of great restored small personalized hotels right in the area. Some seen on HGTV as they've been remodeled.

It can get tricky. Looking forward to the upgrades coming. Thanks for watching!
take 275 to the port or stay on the main road (I- 45)?
Good info 👍🏾
Thank you. Galveston can be a little tricky to maneuver but well worth it
I am about to be sailing from that terminal in March 2024

Check hotels in Texas City.

You most definitely can find hotels that offer shuttles to the port! I’ve done that for years. Google “Galveston hotels with shuttle to port”.

@@bethdavis6863 Great points!!
I’ve never seen a transatlantic cruise out of Galveston. Just Caribbean which we’ve already done.

Did i miss which terminal is used by Norwegian?
The Norwegian Prima will sail out of Galveston in December 2023 and is scheduled to dock at Cruise Terminal 28. Thanks for watching!
Going out of Galveston in 2026 with Norwegian
WooHoo. Happy Cruising
Why would you not mention Princess Cruise Line??
Princess Cruise was mentioned in the beginning.
