    Sorry to hear about the headlight. We gotcha covered! We have become well aware of this issue and already have a fix in production :) It will be sent out to all affected riders as soon as we are happy with them. Again, so sorry about the break, we are super bummed to hear there have been a handful of people having this issue. As for the battery, Lithium Ion is incredibly affected by weather. Charging cold and riding cold will cause a decreased range. Li-ion likes to be hot to move freely. The warmer the better. Other factors are terrain (I saw a lot of dirt riding), start/stops, and rider weight. What works for one person won't necessarily work for the next and we recommend the rider familiarize themselves with their routes and how it affects their range. As always, love the review and the content! Thanks for being such a great customer.

      Super 73 - I knew you’d have your customers back!!! Thanks!!! As for the range, I knew this ride was going to challenge the range, and the 25 Miles was actually better than I had expected. This is a great bike. It keeps impressing me. Stay tuned for more vids!

      So super73, ideally 40 miles range is a 120lb person riding on a very warm day and in 100% flat and level roads (with no head wind). Certainly not "real life" scenario. I'd like to know where you got 40 miles range from?

    I get around the same miles out of mine in California weather. Have yet to come close to 40, but that’s a matter of learning when it’s best to use the assist. I’ve logged over 320 miles on the bike already. 😬 Thanks for the video! 👍🏾

    • @dolbydarma

      Mark. The mileage doesn’t really bother me, 25 Miles is more than I can see needing in a normal day. I am bummed about my light though, I really liked the look of it.

      @@benkenny3220 I was just over 3,000 miles before I sold the bike. I used it to commute to work for a while. It was roughly a 40mile round trip. My only suggestion from my personal experience is prep for flat prevention and repair. 😄

    • @benkenny3220
      @benkenny3220 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@soda669 Wow, that is quite the commute. I was thinking if my car died, I could get myself one and do the same. I was looking into a 49cc scooter, but this seems like it could work too and cheaper.
      My commute is only 15 miles round trip, but I still worry about becoming a sweaty mess. Would have to learn how to deal with the weather as well.

    Thanks for sharing man. Bummer about the light. I know there's an issue with the headlight dropping, but this brings it to a different level. Hope you get that resolved.

      That would be cool as they claim it has a 40 mile range on throttle only. Looking at the battery mah compared to other bikes with similar specs it seemed a little off the mark more like 24 miles seems to be closer to the mark on throttle only.

    40 miles distance is a huge HUGE false advertisement.

    • @dolbydarma
      @dolbydarma  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RCThis, I dont think so. If I weighed 140 lbs and road perfect flat smooth roads I bet 40’s an honest reality. And if you compare it to the claims of electric cars like the Nissan Leaf, where real world numbers are typically less than half of the claimed range.

      They want to sell the bike, yes I agree with you that in the real world this bike would not see 40 mile range, but they are thinking in theory if you had ideal conditions you would hit 40 miles. Car companies do the same thing with MPG, you can reach those numbers if you drive at sea level, on flat roads, and never hit traffic. You are right, its all theoretical, almost false, advertisement.

    I see your headlight is suffering the common Super 73 disease of "Brewers Droop" :) also is your battery working properly? I get over 24 miles on my 48v 10.5amp battery on a similar weight bike and I weigh 250lb. Very good video love the different angles used and the honesty of it.

    • @icedave2004
      @icedave2004 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was varied terrain and used a mixture of Pas 4 & 5 with a healthy does of throttle in between. I do get noticeable battery sag when it drops below 2 bars but not having GA cells in the battery there is nothing I can do about it. When the weather is a bit better I will do another run and log it with Strava.

  • @jonneet2126

    I'd like to see a test showing range under throttle only with no pedalling, and then showing the same route under the lowest pedal assist mode, which would give the longest possible range. Sort of a lowest range and highest range comparison.
    That headlight bracket looks pretty wimpy to be holding that large headlight. Sounds like they are on that problem though.
    Thanks for this video!!

      Jon Neet I don’t know if I’ll spend that much time running range tests, but I can tell you it has plenty of range for everything I’d ever need it for. I just did a really aggressive 19 Mile loop with tons of climbing and all different terrains and made it home under power 👍.

    I think when they advertise the range on these bikes it's theoretical miles, the only way to achieve that is on a flat smooth road with no wind and you are also doing most of the pedalling. I would have guessed in real world abuse that you would hit 20 miles.

    Honest Review but you are being Way too kind to these guys. They have had over $400K in Kickstarter funds and still can't get simple engineering problems on a bike solved which have been solved for over 100 years on normal bikes. They use sub-standard metal on a Light bracket , Seriously !!!!! ? Looks like they have a long way to go before the bikes are worth buying, if ever. Maybe consider a European made bike, designed by Engineers.

      Game Film HUB - a crappy light bracket is the only issue I’ve had, and I’ve ridden this thing everywhere. The bike, battery and motor have all been great. To give up on the bike for the light bracket would be like me giving up on my Jeep because my headlight went out.
