LD: The Godfather of UK Drill Returns | Noisey Raps

- As a founding member of group 67, LD is an originator of UK Drill. Now, after a stint in prison, LD is back and determined to take his place as the father of the scene.
Hailing from Brixton Hill in South London, LD began to achieve commercial success in 2015, with sold-out tours and millions of views on TH-cam. He became in part notorious for his iconic silver mask and went on to release music as a solo artist.
In 2019, LD was arrested on drug charges and was given a 4 and a half year sentence, putting a temporary stop to his music career.
After serving 2.5 years in prison, the man in the mask is back in the game.
In this episode of Noisey Raps, we follow LD as he is released from prison, recording his first track and music video out.

Is drill music positive? Hell no. And i am a Drill listener since 2012, but i am honest this music dont have good impact on anybody life. Its just sound good so we still stick to it but lets be real no God in drill

The respect i have for LD and 67 in general is mad. These man popularist the drill sound and kept it, the sound changed and man like loski and digga went with it, meanwhile dimzy, LD, SJ kept it real. shows they really making music for themselves and people who like their sound, not for the money.

I really felt it when he was talking about K-Trap and Headie's albums coming out and 67 missing out on money and success due to legal situation. It's really so unfair, OG 67 are the reason I got into UK drill and for the first year or so of listening to the sound I barely listened to anything other than In Skengs We Trust. So to see people in the scene making it big with less talent and less work ethic than LD (Digga I'm looking at you lol) while the feds take them down and the fans forget them except to say they "fell off"... honestly brings a tear to my eye. They really should be sitting on decent money and the respect of the scene as the originators and innovators they are. LD, Dimzy, Monkey, ASAP, Liquez, SJ - hope you see the comfort and ratings you deserve one day, and if any of you see this I still listen to your stuff now. One love!
