Greek society doesn't have the deep scars of the US or UK like widespread fatherless youth and total collapse of reason. In Greece society mostly suffers from poverty and a slow decline of education and motivation for growth. Also from national minorities like Albanians who have been marginalized by greek society in the past and they feel & act as outkasts in society. Most Greeks are proud and very emotional people who like to blame others for our ill fate rather than look to ourselves for self-improvement. ...But still we have very close and protective families and we re not a fucked up place where violence is the rule of law in 99% of the areas in Greece. I'm now 40; when i was 13 yrs old the 25 year old hooligans used to fight every day and stab each other every chance they got. In the end all these guys ended up working on low paying service jobs, if at all. I see the same now with these guys. They have nothing better to do; no guidance, bad influences and just waste their time doing stupid things in front of a camera. Usually, 1 out of 20 of these guys - the smartest one - will capitalize on his exposure and jump into some kind of legal entrepreneurial activities. The rest will be left wondering why they spent all their time and youth doing nothing...

I live in Greece, and I am telling you, I do not feel the fear I had when I visited my homeland. Im sorry but these kids, come from a good home and are too privileged to be the so called gangster. Greek society doesn't have the deep scars of the US or UK like widespread fatherless youth and total collapse of reason. In Greece society mostly suffers from poverty and a slow decline of education and motivation for growth. Also from national minorities like Albanians who have been marginalized by greek society in the past and they feel & act as outkasts in society.
Most Greeks are proud and very emotional people who like to blame others for our ill fate rather than look to ourselves for self-improvement. ...But still we have very close and protective families and we re not a fucked up place where violence is the rule of law in 99% of the areas in Greece.
I'm now 40; when i was 13 yrs old the 25 year old hooligans used to fight every day and stab each other every chance they got. In the end all these guys ended up working on low paying service jobs, if at all. I see the same now with these guys. They have nothing better to do; no guidance, bad influences and just waste their time doing stupid things in front of a camera.
Usually, 1 out of 20 of these guys - the smartest one - will capitalize on his exposure and jump into some kind of legal entrepreneurial activities. The rest will be left wondering why they spent all their time and youth doing nothing...
