As a Tennesseean, yeah, our motto is really just a description of the state. We're like 60% farmland, 20% forests, and 20% Nashville, and Nashville is a major hub for like, Medical Tech businesses. So Agriculture and Commerce.
Live free or die is by far the best state motto. There’s even a song about it. I love New Hampshire and it decently matches that everyone there is a free thinker and they are the happiest state. Also breaking bad.
us hoosiers really do have our entire state identity build around being that place you go through to go between other actually important places, don’t we

I think the Nevada one is referring back to the fact that Nevada was literally created during the Civil War to support the Union, something like that, correct me if I'm wrong
I guess it depends on which side of the state you live in, because Western Michigan is different than Eastern Michigan which is different than the UP in the sense of what they offer

Coming from a Californian. California just sucks in general. Cons: cost of living, low wages(making more in Nevada and now in Washington), traffic, air pollution, people(went downhill, techies took over), and politicians. Pros: if you get sick, it’s easier to get benefits, a lot of great doctors, diversity(different cultures and great food) and natural beauty.
Me, a Virginian explaining Virginia’s motto: Virginia’s Motto is “Sic Semper Tyrannis,” which means “thus always to tyrants.” The Latin term is traditionally linked back to the Roman Republic, though the sources on it are lacking. However, the purpose behind it is to invoke the deposition of the tyrant - a king, usually - in order to asset the ideals of liberty and freedom from tyranny. This motto is coupled with the commonwealth’s seal, which depicts a figure that represents liberty standing overtop the defeated monarch, usually clad in ancient armor of the Greco-Roman style. Much of Virginia’s political history is based around the notion of founding a Republic much like the Roman Republic, which is why the Greco-Roman architectural style is commonplace in the commonwealth, especially with the political buildings. Even our Capitol Building is modeled after a Roman Temple in Carreé, France. So, it’s meant to invoke the prestige of Rome and represent the founding a new political order for the continent; a republic just like that of Ancient Rome. Also, John Wilkes Booth shouted it when he assassinated Lincoln, since he took the Rome LARP far too seriously.

Nice video. I have seen the whole thing now. You got funnier as the video went along. Okay that "Dum spieran sparow" came out of nowhere. Nice! lol! I agree with you about Texas. They are bit too prideful to be friendly. lol! Eureka has nothing to do with California? Have you never heard of the city of Eureka? It's in California. It's way up in NorCal. Never heard of it? I get that it has only about 26,000 people or so. I've only been there once as it is an over 4 hour drive north of me despite living in NorCal myself up in Wine Country in Santa Rosa an hour north of San Francisco. Eureka does at least have something to do with California. Not literally nothing. I mean there at least is that town of Eureka so, yeah I think you dropped the ball on that one, but oh well. lol! Anyways just giving you a hard time. I know eureka means like "Wow! I found it!" In all seriousness that should mean here in California "Wow! I found a house for $500,000 and it's a complete dump.
