    (note, yes, this video was published in 2018, however the content is still 100% relevant in 2021!)

    A while back, I published the most popular podcasting tutorial on TH-cam, and in this video I wanted to make sure you have all of the latest and greatest information so that you can get your podcast setup the right way.
    Podcasting has changed my life! It's helped me build a huge audience, develop a deeper relationship with my subscribers and customers, make more money, and most importantly make a bigger impact in the world.
    All you need to do now is take action and learn how to start a podcast!
    In this particular video, I'll be highlighting the equipment and software you need to get started - all without breaking the bank. My goal is to take away all of the excuses you have that are holding you back from starting your podcast. Trust me, because it took me forever to start my podcast back in July of 2010.
    Things have changed since then (hint: it's A LOT easier to start a podcast today than it was before), and so make sure you watch through this video about equipment and software, and then subscribe so you don't miss the other two videos in this tutorial series!

I have consistently followed Pat's advice and now have a channel that is its own global brand too. I highly recommend his online courses which are value for money and will help you elevate your growth and exposure.

    This is the series to watch if you want to get into podcasting, I came across it while researching how to get started on my own podcast and it has been immensely helpful to me. Thank you Pat, you really get across the finer points of what and whatnot to do as well as the basics ! Watching your videos gives me more confidence in my ability to produce my own show and get my audience built up sooner than later. I was about to make all the mistakes you warned about, because frankly, I had no idea what to do. I have been writing online opinion columns for years and I have a great audience with that, but I wanted to get into podcasting to get those thoughts and messages out to my audience and hopefully gain new followers in the process. Now I feel that I have more confidence in doing this thanks to your video tutorials. ~ Rob D.

      You could have the best mic in the world, but it’s not going to sound like this straight out of box. The rich sound you speak of is done in post with condensers, compressors and equalizers. Think of it like an Instagram filter for your picture, but with audio. Hope that helps :)

    Hi 👋🏾Pat!!! Can you make a vid for multiple mic users in a podcast show. Would I need extra equipment? Btw you are doing a great job! I also listen to your SPI podcast! I appreciate you! 😝

      Hi Lynelle, there's any new piece of gear called the RodeCaster Pro by Rode that would be a perfect fit for you. I to want setup to have multiple mics for several guest. This item is great for podcasters and is relatively inexpensive, about $600.00. But it will be well worth the money. I currently have one on back order. Hope this helps!!

      Is possible on a Mac very easily without any extra equipment (probably on a pc too but I’m not familiar)-you just plug in two usb mics and make an aggregate audio device in preferences. I won’t explain it all here because there are peeps out there doing so in a much clearer fashion. Search TH-cam or the web and there are plenty of great tutorials. It is surprisingly easy

    Can I do this for gaming voice overs? I have a cheapo Neewer condenser mic for 40 comes with stand shock mount pop filter and ever phantom power. Though the mic sounds webcam quality. I wanted a mic for podcast and also gaming.

    • @XGR76
      @XGR76 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You sure can. When you edit your gaming videos all you do is add your recorded voice as another audio source. Works great!

      Use Zoom or Zencastr. Or just do it over the phone, assuming you both have separate recorders / mics. You’ll have to sync the audio in post, but people will think you’re in the same room!

    • @jose301

      You would need various cameras recording different angles and then in editing you'd need to sync all the cameras together and cut in between them

      On a Mac, and I bet there is a way to do this on pc, if you plug in two usb mics, you can create an aggregate audio device and record on two tracks simultaneously on GarageBand. Again, I only know Mac but there are great videos and online tutorials on how to do this without an external mixer

    • @d3cibel
      @d3cibel 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      stylistmatt if you’re just podcasting on it, the air will work just fine! Once you start getting into heavier software is when the pro comes in handy. Overall I would recommend getting the pro, however if it’s just for podcasting, the air will suffice :)

    Thanks so much, Pat! Your timing was impeccable. I have just started recording a podcast with my son, and I purchased the Samson a few months ago because it got similar reviews to the ATR2100, but it was about $20 cheaper. I figured if I didn't like it, I would try the ATR2100 for our second one, so we each have one. However, after watching your review, I'm going to stay with the Samson for my second one, as well. I did have some problems with the stand for it, and I saw that was a negative in the reviews for it. Some people said to just pick up a better stand to go with it, so I will probably do that. Thanks, again, Pat!
