    I get sick of watching people destroy vintage bikes but you have done an amazing job keeping the spirit of the bike alive amazing restoration

      If you don't want to see 'em get destroyed, start buying them and create a market for them, because there isn't one right now. I have a MF Courier Mega in blue. It's worth nothing because people say they like them but they don't, really. It's an OK bike, but whoever wants to modify a vintage bike is being rational when they do it with a low value bike like a MF Courier.

      @@GTMarmot I would love to but I don't have the time to restore them this would be profitable here

      Great in a bind but an off the shelf one is probably more cost effective. Looked like one of the worst labor parts of the rebuild.

      While I appreciate the fabrication, it’s the one thing I don’t like about the build. It even flexes a fair bit when the brake is applied. Better a sturdier hanger imho.

    Beautiful result! Now I want to go find my '92 Trek Antelope 820 and restore it!

    • @MarkAnderson-ym6xx
      @MarkAnderson-ym6xx ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you click on this video because this bike looks almost exactly like the antelope? This bike looks almost exactly like my Antelope anyway. Exact same components, similar color, I'm in the middle of a slow going restomod of my Antelope, but I'm changing the color, no sentimental attachment to the fluorescent yellow.

    Really impressed with the improvised brake cable stop, and you really classed the bike up with the polished handlebar and stem. It's a whole new bike. Well done.

    Love the way that you fabricated with what you got by upcycling bike parts back onto the finished work. I would have done the same on the front brakes. Love your channel.

    Nice to see a decent vintage mountain bike get rebuilt as it deserves instead of needlessly turning it into a one by.

    Nice job, I love my old 90s MTBs, and fixing them all up, just finished a custom alu rigid frame and forks from a Bike Shop (Bill Nickson 1992), with Mavic 231s, a Rolls saddle, Deore 7/8 spd "Thumbies", & Renthal bars along side the first ever Deore LX GS from 91' even came with matching Maxxis "Larsen" tires with decent tread left! all for 75 quid, needed a lot of love & work, stripped it completely down like this, Minus the sealed BB which was smooth as silk still (looked newish) ,after another £50 or so spent on it, and its lovely now, rides like a dream too. some pretty aggressive angles on it, so is nippy!

    Great Conservative Restoration...Took me back to my First half decent MTB back in 1992...It had Shimano 400LX Group set with the BioPace Crankset too...Only difference was mine had Sealed Hub and Crank/BB Baring's and an Aluminium Frame.

    good idea on the front brake stop but will flex too much under hard braking and might fail so keep a close eye on that
    normally on the brake hanger the ‘opening’ should face towards the bike (usually a logo on the other side) + this will have both cables (brake & bridge) against each other so it’s a bit easier to center it
    great restoration, been long time since I’ve seen these components 😅 thanks for these videos 👍

    Great work! When taking out loose bearings, use a magnet. In just one action, you can pick up all the balls at once. I learnt it from another mechanic. Also keep an eye on the front brake hanger, it's likely low carbon steel so it may bend under load. While the creativity is commendable, I'd suggest, strongly at that, you look for a hanger that was designed for the part. The front brake is not something that you would want to risk failing /losing.

    After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working th-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.
