Violet Flame sorry about that. We rushed through that part. It’s a two step equation. 3 + 2v + v = 48. We can add the 2v and v to get 3v 3 + 3v = 48 We can subtract 3 from both sides. 3 - 3 is 0 and 48 - 3 is 45 So we have 3v = 45 Now it’s a one step equation. We divide both sides by 3. 45 divide by 3 is 15 So we have v = 15
@@roncallahan40 If we want to work towards isolating just the " V" by itself on the left side of the equation, then firstly we need to cancel that +3 somehow..… Takeaway 3from both sides will cancel that 3. (Very important that we need to take away the same amount from the right side too!) This leaves us 3v=45. Divide each side by 3 and we successfully isolated the "V" by itself. Which is V=15. That's what it is! (It could have been named X instead of V, it would still be the same.) I hope this helps!🙂

It became 5C once she added the (4C+C). The equation at that point became (5C=210) You simply then divide 5 into 210 and come out with the answer 42 for "C". Hence (5C=210) or (5×42=210).

Ok there are two problems I think you are having 1. Adding terms and Multiplying terms. You are confusing the two. You can't add 3 and 2v because the 3 doesnt have a v and you can only add those who have the same terms. Second, you can only gain squared if you multiply 2 same terns such as x * x= x^2. It's not the same as x+x=2x

then move positive 3 to the other side(turns negative 3) so only 3v will stay on the left, hence
3v = 48-3

5 goes into 10 how many times? 10/5 = 2 or 10 divided by 5 = 2.
