This guy is the man. I've been bodybuilding for 40 years. I'm 64 and going to compete in the next year or so. I tool 3rd in the mister over 50 in 2010 Ironman Seattle, and I'm currently 330 at 6foot 3inches. I started off in power lifting and was training in Bakersfield ca with Steve foster and Sam Samaniego. Steve held the record in the 242 class and Sam held the world bench record at 639. One day I was late, when I walked into the gym they had 405 on the ground. I thought ok, were doing deadlifts. No, they were doing bent over rows. Oh did I mention Steve was trained by Fred Hatfield. What's all this got to do with anything. These are my credentials, I worked out at Golds gym before training with Steve, that was the Santa Monica location . Everyone was there. Danny Padilla, Roby Robertson, Tom Platz, everyone. My long exaggerated point, Oh one more thing. Working out at Bakersfield College weight room with Charles Glass before he was anything. Ok, sorry, my point is I've heard it all. and this guy Peter Khatcherian is the Best, I repeat the Best. there was this other who is on TH-cam, who I really liked, but he found a need to cuss and say stupid vulgar things, to try and be cool. What the heck does that have with real training. I'll say it again. This guy is bar none the best. Oh did I mention this guy is the best. My best weight which should give me a little right to brag on Peter was 405 for 32 reps bench. 500 dead lift for 12 reps. and a single with 705 squat. pullups with a 120 strapped on for 32 reps. Peter, Thank you for all the hours of work you put into you videos. I have learned a lot and totally appreciate your dedication and professionalism. Regards Marcus.
Respect for u sir MASCULINE DISCIPLINE 🙏
Pull ups , bent over barbell rows . Godly exercises
that’s all you need
For those who are wondering, it was the Hammer sleeve attachment for landmine rows that he used for T Bar rows.
Omdsss thank you so much man you don't know how much your comment from 4 months ago has saved me now broo💯
Never thought of using a V-bar for lat pullover! Great tip 👍🏻
Great idea with the landmine for the T-bar rows! The low-back stress is why I stopped doing them, and I don't have a chest supported variant available. You should give it it's own video.
Yea it was a game changer for me
I got a hernia at L4, and bentover row, along with rdl and stiff legged deadlift helped me improve the situation (obviously with very light weights when I first started lifting).
Now, I try to not get too thick of a back, because parallel to ground bentover rows does wonders, it's an old school workout but it never gets old.
Wish there's more men like you that were old school that believe in this way I know I do
Simple yet effective
💪🏻💪🏻
Awesome 💯... I'm pushing 70, been following for 3. This is the Best yet 🤟
Heavy DB for this stuff is excellent too, no wrist tension and a bit larger ROM
With heavy db's, you start working other muscles too to be able to keep your arms/elbows open.
If you want proper back thickness, that is to have more of the mid back targetted, wide-ish grip barbell rows are better imo.
Been doing this lately definitely blows up the back
Gotta love it Lfg 😈😈🙏🙏
LFG
Great video as always
Thank you 💪🏻

I personally find the 45° bent over rows work best for my proportions. Even Yates Rows, but with overhand grip, feels awesome. But traditional style parallel to floor rows are not my thing. They are more into lower back for me that I need fresh for deadlift and back squats.
Secondly, I strongly believe that barbell rows are best done with a little body English. Arnold and Ronnie have done it in so many other exercises like pull downs and seated rows as well. It allows me better muscle engagement and activation than strict rows. For that, supported rows are better choice like seated rows, chest supported rows, dumbbell rows, etc. But barbell rows are meant to be done with some leg drive.
45° rows hit the lats better than rows parallel to the floor which is mostly upper back and rear delts.
Great information always !
Thank you for the land mine attachment...
just discovered your channel. You have one of the best physics I've ever seen.impressive.
I've been training for about 10 years. We have many similar ideas. That the basic exercises and sets are the most important. I have always made my programs myself. At the moment I'm training my whole body divided into front (2x) back (4x).
front: bench press, row, squat and so on.
rear: pull-ups, rows, deadlifts and so on (2 days upper back / 2 days lats)
What do you think about it?
You're overtraining.
@@everydaywarriors that's quite possible. However, I have had great success with this method, but perhaps with a little less training I would have even greater success? For this method, I mainly use lighter weights, bands, bodyweight exercises and high volume. For the phase where I mainly train with free weights and more weight, I only train 4 times a week
Great idea on the landmine attachment!
Awesome content bro
Back improvement is my goal. Im weak there but my shoulders are strong do to yrs of my work field. Nice vid.
Good tip on the TBar row!!!
Workout so good his hair grew out before the last set 😂
Straps are 🐐
💯
Great tip on the T bar rows
Nice rear delt workout
Lol
They are two different form to this exercise over & understand grip 👌🏾 same technique
Great video Peter. Really appreciate your perspectives
Love your channel new subscriber here for life thank you so much for sharing your knowledge 🙏🏼🙏🏼 would love to know where to get that landmine attachment? Please and thank you🙏🏼
Great vid! Where do you get that front landmine? Thank you for goin over importance of straps for mind muscle connection
I got mine from titan fitness
Home gym goals😩
I really lack muscle around my shoulder blades , for some reason I really struggle to put muscle on around them.. and mid/lower traps too, but I’ve worked my way up to a 60 kg weighted pull up and still have seen hardly any back progress even though I feel it in my back and my form is good, any suggestions man?
/ starts walking on hands so he doesn't have to use his legs
💪🏻
Hahahahha
Hey Pete, great insight video! I have straps but barely use them, as I'm convinced that as a beginner (1 year training, can row 125lbs for 8 CLEAN reps rowing like you) they would hinder my grip and forearm strength. Am I thinking it wrong? Are they worth using even though I'm weak? Appreciate an input from anyone
Don’t ever use grip strength as the reason you don’t use straps. If you feel your grip strength is limited just work it directly on its own.
Train grip through bodyweight pullups, hangs and deadlifts.
If you can finish a 10x10 pullup session your grip should be ok and you can use straps for rows. Back is a very difficult muscle for making mind muscle connection (mainly because you cant see it working) so make BACK the limiting factor, not grip.
Have you ever used a prone row set up? I quite like it because it takes out any momentum but I guess some might feel as though they can’t get full contraction at the top of the rep.
I never really connected with it much
Seal row/prone rows is a fav of mine too, but sometimes you need to programme enough lower back volume and bentover rows adds to lower back volume, and you can't cheat/go a bit heavy on seal rows, negating the benefits of the extra heavy.
I love seal rows so much, I tried them on flat, slight incline and slight decline angled benches (5-10 degrees), you can literally adjust where it hits and the ratio of how much it hits an area.
Lifting is great, can't wait till monday! lol
💪💪💪💪💪 Keep up your good work in wellness 👍👍👍👍👍
💪🏻💪🏻
Fantastic ❤
Thank you 💪🏻
Some wristwraps are not wide enough so they cut into my skin. Gotta be really picky when it comes to buying one
So quick question I work nights and my gym doesn’t have a tbar row what can I do instead of that I miss tbar rows but well I’m stuck with what I have access to
Peter Khatcherian, Where did you get that forward Land mine attachment, I cannot find a forward attachment anywhere.
Where do I get that attachment for the t row?
Would you combine this session with training biceps or any other muscle group or solely complete these 3 exercises on this day?
Yeah
Do you think you’ll ever compete again
Possibly in the next few year
Just 3 exercizes? What aboht a row pulling machine
Can seated v grip row be a good substitute for T bar rows?
Yes if you are not looking for as much lower back
Name of the barbell extender attachment??
I can only afford some old school gym... I don't have fancy machines their
It's a hook strap or a normal lifting one?
Common man using straps with such light weights
Lol
My lower back gives up while doing barbell Rows, what should i do to get my lower back stronger???
I want to maximize back but
I really suffer from this, i cant do rows properly or any hip hinge exercise like RDL, Yates deadlift, etx.
I used to struggle with this too. Doing high rep drop sets of RDLs (20-30 reps with 0 RIR) at the of leg day helped me the most and now my forearms fatigue before my lower back does.
What brand of straps do you use?
Versa Grips
When I do Bent Over Rows my lower back hurts, should i replace it with chest supported rows?
I prefer dumbbell rows by far
When doing pullovers, my triceps will give out before my lats and I have to stop my sets due to the lactic acid buildup in my triceps. Any advice Peter?
Now I’m not Peter but I have suffered from the same issue. For me, you must make sure that your elbow is not fully straight. Bend it on the concentric & straighten out slowly on the eccentric to stretch the lats. I never feel anything in my triceps after that. Give it a try & see how it feels :)
@@muhammadimanda6978 I will give this a try on my next back day. Thank you for taking the time to offer this advice.
🔥🔥
What is the brand of straps you use?
They look like Versa Grips. Personally, I just have cheap straps. Versas may be nicer, but I think cheap straps can also serve you well.
How could there be an old school bodybuilding channel with literally no leg videos. You've got chicken legs, don't you ?
Are you trolling? Or stupid. He has plenty leg videos.
👍👍👍
for people who struggle with the barbell bent over row, is the dumbell chest supported row a viable replacemnt?
yes
I love that idea of using the land mine attachment for the T bar row. Where can I find that attachment?
Was wondering the same. Mostly (i guess) home made(?)
I got mine from titan fitness
Fantastic idea. Thanks.
you can also use an old shoe and jam bar into it and stabilise whole setup in against the corner of a room…
Chin ups
Pull ups
Dips
Squats
Rows
Incline bench press
OHP
That’s all you need.
I like it. I would add in some direct arm work on top tho personally
That’s not all you need at all, how are you going to teach your chest to fully contract with a bench press? How are you going to stimulate fully the quads with just squats? You need to update your information.
bruh 1 leg exercise
