    I do have a question though. You said that you only keep hero+ runes with 1 non-grindable stat. For example if the stats are atk%, def flat and def% or res, def% and hp flat, do you keep it?

    • @XennialGamer
      @XennialGamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Heya Shafiq, first off thank you! :) Also this was a much older video and needs some updates - first, because I know I can make it better now, second because the game is evolving especially with the last update. Did you catch my B12's Rune Farming guide? That was my 2nd to most recent video, and covers the topic you're asking about more in-depth.
      Specific to your question, although flat stats are grindable, I wasn't referring to those in this video. I meant like hp% atk% and res I would keep, since I can gem the res, but hp% hp flat and res I would sell. Though honestly I'd probably sell all of those - again, this is a video that could be done better, and as I'm answering this question I think that a re-do of this video has just moved to the top of my list.
      Basically for a rune to have no speed you usually want it to have all offensive stats, or insane efficiency, or at least CR. But for it to have no CR, no SPD and no offensive stats makes it hard to use. It can become high efficiency (especially if it's slot 5), but it's mostly an "early game" rune - and the problem there is that early game players don't raid much which then limits its value in a different way.
      I'm going to start doing some planning hehe. (This type of video is a lot more work) - keep an eye out in the next week or two you might see an updated verison :p

    Hey, over from Childish's channel.On that last rune, I could see it on a monster where you had a slot 4 crit rate rune to go with it, a monster with damage that partly scaled on HP, and you didn't have better runes. You obviously do, but I'm still working on it (as I've been playing for less than six months).

      Hey thanks for watching Deirdre, I really appreciate it :) And yeah for a lot of people it's definitely a keeper!!
      Just for me, blade runes aren't good in pvp unless I know I'll outspeed the enemy, and since it had no speed subs and it was slot 2, whoever gets the rune will be very slow and then either have no will runes, or no "4-set" if I go blade+will+something else. For PVE mons CD slot 4 is needed, so the lack of CR subs made it hard to save for that too. I have to admit, it was tempting to reapp it because of that 7cd innate LOL. If it was vio/swift/will I'd probably have reapped though

      Thanks B Wayne, much appreciated! :) Yep CD is max 7, you're correct! There's a longer explanation in the video desc - but in short, CD doesn't syngerize well in all cases, so I group it with the +8s as a way to speed up the assessment and adjust for that that "less efficient efficiency" so to speak. I was trying to keep the video from being too long and didn't explain that - I should have tho. Definitely a learning moment for me! :)

      @XennialGamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jonathan, I'm glad you enjoyed this and hope you enjoy the other videos too! :)
      There's not necessarily an "absolute" rule. As a general rule, I keep most fatal, rage, violent, or despair slot 1 or 3 runes that started with max cr and 6 or 7 CD regardless of the 3rd stat, roll them 3 at a time, and sell them immediately if they rolled anything other than 5+cr or 6+cd through +9. But I would NOT keep the same of say Focus or Guard, as those runes get used much less.
      It might also depend on if I know I need more of a rune or have too many. For example, right now I have too many fatal runes without CR, and can't make another set - so my standards are a little lower. But I might have say a ton of high-CR slot 1 despair runes that are also high efficiency, so my standards would be higher.
      Also usually I farm for like a week (because I farm a lot that's going to be 5000+ runes and usually 50 runes kept) and keep everything I think is worth test inscribing, then do all my inscriptions at once. That way I don't have to remember every rune I need more or less of - I'll be set up in SWOP or in the rune manager in the game and looking at everything all at once, and if I realize "oh I have too many of these cr/cd/crap runes" then I just sell instead of test inscribing.
      With all of that said, please bear in mind I am an end-game player too. The standards for what runes are kept should always be set based on your stage of game, and for many players the standard should be a bit lower than what I set for myself :p

      @@XennialGamer Thank you so much for your explanation.. I am nowhere near you in terms of my account progression. :P Just wanted to understand your thought process.
      Maybe a background of where I am now in the game. I'm currently farming GB10 (0.30 fastest, averaging at 0.40s I believe) 99% of the time, able to sub 1 min DB10 (averaging at 1:10) and at 70% clear rate for NB10.
      I am also trying to achieve SSS for all rift beasts (achievable but at a very low rate). I farm R4 only when there's an event for free entrance and my goal is also to eventually get into R5 only when I have a BJR5 team for it. That said, I'd need to max all my towers prior to that as well.
      Before watching your videos, I had absolutely no clue in terms of what runes to keep/sell. I guess I ended up selling most or when I'm unsure, just stocked up tons of useless runes in my inventory (P/S: still doing that now). This is why I haven't progressed much in the game and have been kinda stucked for quite some time now.
      What do you suggest for a player at my stage? Do I need to consider 5* runes? Should I just focus only on 6* runes? I always feel that 5* runes just won't make it but again, I don't even have much 6* ATK&/HP%/CD% runes to begin with. I'm really lost and would appreciate some pointers from you! Thanks!

    • @XennialGamer
      @XennialGamer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jonathan1383 Heya Jonathan, the single best thing I read from this is that you're doing R4. So many earlier game players ignore raid, and it's SOOO important. I'm really impressed that you've already started raid! And trust me - R4 is totally fine, you will be much stronger doing R4 than players further in the game who don't raid at all.
      I would definitely consider 5* runes at your stage of the game. Some of it is resource management - you want to be inscribing every rune that has potential to be good to at least +3. And then re-evaluating after each 3 levels of inscription "can it still be good?". So if the hit at +3 is crap, sell it. If it's good, go to +6, then +9, etc. The important thing is not to fall in love with a rune just because you've invested resources. This is a game of scale and grinding, and test-inscribing on scale yields more results. I have lots of legend runes that are 80% efficiency with crap subs, and some rare runes that went to over 100% because they had perfect inscriptions and were grindable. In that example, I sell the legend and keep the rare.
      5* runes have a lower ceiling, so you have to be more selective in the ones you keep. But they can easily grow to 85-90%+ efficiency when grinded, or to be 15+ speed runes, which are extremely valuable in the early stages of the game. This is even more true because you ARE doing raid, so you can grind and gem these runes. A 5* rune with spd, atk%, and hp% and cr% for example, even with so-so inscriptions, will often be better than a 6* rune with acc%, res%, cd% and cr%, because of the grinds and gems.
      Also just an FYI - my next video (tomorrow at 9am global server time) will be called "Rune Cleanup" and it literally talks about this very subject :p

      @@XennialGamer Hey! Thanks again for your valuable insight, really appreciate it. Now I feel relieved that I bothered to try taking on raids at all. :D With the stats that I have on my raid monsters, it is actually quite possible for me to even survive R5 but I fall short in terms of damage. It makes the run extremely slow and I feel like a burden to other players. That's why I sticked with R4 instead.
      I do agree with you completely with 5* runes having chances to be better than 6* runes at times. Personally though, I feel it's more so for cases with support type runes but less with damage dealers' (only talking about PVE here :p). This is solely based on the amount of CR I need to secure. Say I need 85% on average for all my damage dealers. That means I need almost all 6 5* runes to get at least 2 hits into CR to achieve that. On the contrary, I'd need somewhere in between 4 to 5 runes with at least 2 hits for 6*. This does not even take into account of the CD that I'd need to further my progress in the game. Maybe another question to go with this is, is it better to have a single rune with stacked CR or sets with distributed CR?
      I definitely keep all runes which will potentially hit 15+ speed for now. Once I have plenty, I'd aim for 18+ next and sell all that do not meet this requirement. Speed runes are probably the most str8 forward runes for me to decide on whether to keep/sell, hahaha.
      That's good news for me! I look forward to its release and will be sure to check it out! Again, thanks a bunch for your patience and passion. Keep it up. Appreciate it a lot than you think.

      @@jonathan1383 Heya Jonathan, so as a general rule it's always best to have a single rune stacked with any non-grindable stat, which makes it possible to have more grindable stats on other runes. For example, I'd rather have 24 ACC on one rune, and 8 hp% on each of two runes (both grindable), than 8 ACC on 3 runes. The same applies for CR - and this is why 5* runes are viable through mid-game. The vast majority won't roll well enough to be useful, but a quad-roll CR on a 5* rune can still be 25CR which is insane. I actually have a 24CR slot 3 Nemesis rune that's heavily grinded and around 100% efficiency that I still use. I also have a 20-ish speed slot 1 will rune (as examples off the top of my head). Pretty sure I have a couple of good slot 2 speed runes as well. I don't have many 5* runes left - but that's part of the function of being end-game and now looking for a quality level that 5* runes cannot achieve. Those 5* runes helped me get to end game sooner though!
      As for raid - I grinded R3 for weeks, because I could use twins and do 50sec runs, which was faster than most top players doing R5 at the time anyway. Even tho the quality of the drops was lower, it was still significant and helped me progress through the game WAY faster than if I hadn't done it :p.
      One last thing to consider - the minimum speed for a rune you keep should be based on available runes, and the minimum speed you'd rune your monsters with. There are a lot of monsters where speed isn't the sole requirement, and you want to be able to rune them too (think of skogul, copper, etc.). In those cases, an abundance of other stats matters more.
      It helps to think of it as acquiring pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, sort of. It's not about what each individual rune has - it's about how they all fit together. For example, two 20 speed runes and an 8 speed rune is +48 speed - the same as three 16 speed runes would be. But if that 8 speed rune happens to be 110% efficiency and the other 5 runes in this example are all 90% efficiency, then the best build is actually the 20/20/8 speed build which will offer more total stats. Hope that makes sense I think it sounds weird typed :p But basically just saying - keep all runes that can roll big speed, but don't automatically sell a rune if it has great stats and low speed :)
