When we find the same or similar movements repeated in a kata, and especially when repeated across various different kata, it is safe to assume that there are many different possibilities and interpretations.
More often than not, the move becomes "homogenized". That is, it is always performed in identical fashion, losing whatever nuance it may once have possessed in each different kata.
That is alright as long as we recognize it as a movement template and not a set technique that is always the same in every application. -
