    When I was young, my favourite way to eat rice was ut in a spoonful of lards on hot rice, pepper and light soy sauce, stir all together and enjoy the rice. At times, we boil the yellow dried mee and make korn loh by adding dark soy sauce,

    Followed your recipe and did it at last. It's so crispy!! Thank you! May I know how long can we keep the pork lard in a air tight glass container in room temperature?

    Hi, do we store the small pieces of lard with the oil or separately?

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jack. Opps. We’re replying to you really late. So so sorry about it. Yes please store the crispy lard separately from the oil. Happy cooking!

      Spice N' Pans that’s ok. Better be late than never. Actually did my first batch and successfully. And yes I did stored it separately. Taste good but the oil solidified and looks like kaya. Apparently that’s normal huh.
      Anyway thanks for replying!

    I add boiling water to wash the lard. After cooking it, the lard wasn't crispy. It became chewy. Do u think washing it with hot water is a no no? Pls advise

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Doris. Yes it’s not advisable. You can just wash it with room temp tap water just to clean it. Then dry it as much as possible using paper towel. This should do the work

    May I know how long can I keep this pork lard and where to keep the oils ? In fridge ? Thank you for sharing

      +vict ong hi Vict. You can keep for up to 1 month if you drain the oil properly. You can also keep the oil in fridge but it will solidify but you can always scoop what you need and use them. Hope this helps.

    why my pork lard n oil smelly after one,two week?do u hv any tips?

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Fadly Deal. So so sorry for our late reply. Do you put both pork lard and oil in one single container? If yes, please separate them. If you're keeping for long, maybe you can freeze the crispy lard after they have cooled down then air fry them before you use them. For the oil, you can try keeping them in the fridge but usually we just put it on our kitchen top and we can use it even after 2 weeks.
