I just picked this up for a crew of Hobgoblin hitmen coming after my players in the feywild! All of them are counterparts to their party so they get to see how annoying it is to fight themselves lol.

02:57 I get they wanted Hobgoblins to have this samurai/eastern vibe for 5e but it kills me a little knowing the Captain has a greatsword stat block and the mini is dual wielding swords.
I have players that have to be constantly reminded what the mini is actually equipped with if its mini looks different.
That’s a good point! It’s definitely irritating when the stat blocks don’t match the mini, especially for newer GMs who may not know how to alter them if they do want to match the mini.
Always enjoy and look forward to Gallant Goblin reviews! The minis look great! Not a fan of the new lore and I won't be using it in my campaigns. Old school lore is the BEST!!!!!
Forgot about the lore changes to the Hobgoblins! Always wanted a pre-painted set to go along with the Goblin Warband and the Snowbound bugbears I had, but I caved a couple months ago and got my Hobgoblins unpainted. Unfortunately will have to pass... but I do want these, as Hobgoblins are my favorite D&D race.

Pretty cool set of minis, maybe a bit samey with 4 of them wearing relatively similar kind of armour? My favourite warband still is the orc one, lots of variety with that one, while being still usable as a single group

I do not think it is a big deal. They can be a species of soldiers who were fey long ago. They always had something of the redcaps, for me.

While I can understand the convenience of prepainted minis, the quality of these for the price just isn’t there. You can find so many options for the same or less that are much better quality if unpainted, although hobgoblins a a little harder to find good examples of compared to goblins or orcs.

I really don't get why they went to clear plastic rather than cardboard. This could have been a great affordable product line.

Unfortunately I’m not supporting any WotC product at the moment. Easier for me since I don’t play 5e and only buy minis for my Pathfinder 2e and Wheel of Time campaigns. Still a bummer.

Well Wizkids makes minis for other games besides D&D though. They have their whole line of Pathfinder and Starfinder minis for example.
