The red dress clip, in front of the door, was the first p video I have ever seen, in the early 2000s, and I was disgusted and enthralled at the same time. I remember thinking she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. This was before instagram, facebook etc and the beauty standards were the catwalk supermodels. I thought they were ugly by comparison. I couldn't ever imagine myself doing something like that and why would anyone chose that lifestyle. Now, learning her story, it makes sense. I'm glad she turned her life around.
This brought tears to my eyes. I really related to when she said [paraphrasing] "Why not give it to them [the men]. They're just going to take it from me anyway." Once one is the victim of rape there is a terror of being killed for saying "No" to a man that is lodged very deep within one's psyche (fear of a man's anger in general). I never went into porn or the sex industry but still the fear, shame and loss of self-worth makes it very difficult to open oneself up and give oneself to a man in a normal relationship. She's doing wonderful work and I'm so glad that she found herself a good husband. I kind of wish that she would ditch the false eyelashes (or extensions) and tone down the thick make-up because it's just too reminiscent to me of a porn star's look. I'll bet she's just lovely without all of that make-up.
