I am the son of a Pastor of 6 straight generations, my dad was born in 1920 Oklahoma he would be 100 if he was still alive! I’m also the prodigal son and when I was in Corcoran Prison in the 90’s called gladiator school my dad visited me. I’m 52 years old now I was a gang member, drug dealer to being a man of G-d and EV Hill like my dad was country full of the Holy Spirit and I miss them both!!!

He was my Pastor and I grew up in his church, Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. I was in the Choir, an Usher and a first aider. This man is no joke. I had my personal issues with religion itself growing up but I had no question as to how genuine this man was. I consider him to be the greatest Baptist Pastor ever in my honest opinion. He reminded me of Martin Luther King. I'll always remember him for his powerful oratory skills. Definitely a great man.

There is on youtube a short clip of Mr Hill talking to 25000 promise keepers in Colorado in 1993. In 5 minutes he tells them how to use the word of God to defeat the devil. It is electrifying. I listen to it all the time. He walks close to God, they are a powerful team.

I have two comments. One is negative and the other is positive. Perhaps I will separate them because I don’t want to detract from the great feelings and great inspiration that comes from listening to this great man. Dr. E.V. Hill is obviously gifted, and I believe that the gifts came when the Holy Spirit entered him when God saved him. He is a gifted orator, and he is also gifted in being able to pull his Church together to do evangelism. I once spoke to a “born-again-no-it-all,” about Dr. E.V. Hill. I told him that he had not heard all the good preachers until he had heard Dr. E.V.Hill. He said he had heard him, but he hadn’t. His ignorance was disgusting to me because he was confusing Dr. E.V. Hill with I.V. Hillard. Dr. E.V. Hill is one that everybody ought to hear. As a matter of fact, I am going to share this video with someone that I sincerely hope listens because they need to hear the gospel this man preaches.

I said I had two comments and one is relatively negative. I am not a who follows the movement of the day, the month or the year so to this day I never embraced Promise Keepers; and I do hope that no one left the event unsaved. A preacher under me in our Church led a group of men to a Promise Keepers event. I didn’t talk against it, but I obviously didn’t go. About a year later, the preacher left his wife and moved south. His wife died a couple of years later. I didn’t support it because I believe that we make promises; we get pumped up and then we go back home and eventually sink back into the same old habits adn personages that we have always been. that being said, I do know that when Christ comes into our lives the real changes start and they continue. God bless.

He’s openly admitting to be racist, but there’s a big thing right now saying black peoples can’t be racist. I believe every race can be racist, but it’s not until we admit that everyone can be that we can be united.
