I have this rifle, it is an early edition like yours. That "BX1" is that aftermarket? looks like it to me.. I have 3 ruger original BX1 and they have never got stuck.. I prefer the BX1 instead of the BX15 or BX25.. the reason 2 is that I never need more than 6 rounds at a time. The other reason is that this gun has a itty bitty flaw with the weak plunger (you can buy aftermarket fix for it) that if you have the mag loaded when on the move (god forbid, in my line of game) or not seating it properly it will tillt and not feed the next round and damage the head of the bullet.
I love this gun thought.. it is "cheap" and perform well for precision shooting. there are better out there for sure but cost 3-4 times as much.. I have put alot of rounds (guy-guessing, probably atleast 10k and upwards) trough this gun and tested alot of different brands of ammo.. value vs price.. SK Long Range match (bleached orange) and SK rifle match (red) is what my rifle likes... cci standard is not good enough.. it is decent for plinking out to 50 meters (the grouping and flyers kills it for me) but i would never compete or do group training with it.. this is my "fun gun" and I do compete with it but my anchutz with diopter sights is my main gun for 22lr.. I must say though I am more and more tempted to equip my anchutz with scope and bipod. it would be so much more precise.... I must admit I love my ruger precision rimfire and it gives alot of fun and training for cheap...

Great detailed review....Not being able to get my hands on the PR, I purchased the Ruger American in 22 lr with the same action/barrel (I believe) instead. Have not had a chance to shoot it yet but still may pick one of these up too. Many Thanks. New Sub :)

You convinced yourself this could be an excellent platform for precision shooting training... that's literally what the gun was designed for.
