Why does the exhaust in the middle have that little extra pipe extended? For what purpose? If i cut it off and weld it will it perform better? To me it feels and looks like a strangulation..
it's definitely not bad for trails, but there are certainly better options. the reason being this a really high revving motor and loves to be screamed. and in the trails you probably want more of the low end grunt.
The XC-W, EXCs and the 50, 65 and 85 have the linkage less suspension, the SX and XC models all have a linkage suspension as seen on this 2018 250 SX-F. The linkage makes the suspension have a progressive action to it. The PDS (linkage less) has what KTM calls a PDS (Progressive Damping Shock) in that case the shock is built to have a progressive action to it as opposed to using the linkage to change how the suspension. There you go. Clear as mud. Thanks for watching.

“Progressive linkage suspension” what? Then what’s the story behind PDS suspension? “progressive damping system”
