As an Aussie with convict ancestry, Port Arthur for me was an eye opener; though my great great great grandfather wasn't imprisoned there he was at Swansea, the life must've been tough. while you are living in Tassie you should check out Richmond and also Strahan the convict history is something else

As a Tasmanian who has been living in Queensland since 2006 - this is really awesome to see your story and your new home in Hobart - although I’m actually from Launceston. Have you been to the Launceston cataract gorge yet? ❤ nice walking pov’s.

I'm glad to see you're venturing out of Hobart a bit more. This new footage will obviously make your VLOGs just that much more interesting to viewers, particularly for your fellow Americans, back home, which can only help to increase the number of your subs. I can't understand how it is that you haven't formed any friendships from Uni, with people with cars, that would be more than happy to show you around Tassy, so you can find even more interesting things to include in your VLOGs, to, once again, gain more followers. I'm from Brisbane, and work in the film / TV industry, plus some other pursuits, and have a few friends back in the States, mainly in LA, so I'm glad you're having a fun time 'down under'. Also I'm, and I'm sure many others are, waiting to see some footage of your Uni field work, dealing with marine creatures. Once again, interesting to others. With the limited 'down time' you have, due to your studies, try to get out more and immerse yourself in the local culture. Stay safe, have fun and good luck with your studies. Bye for now Ash. Peter Mensforth / Brisbane.

I remember the last time I was in Tassie going to Port Arthur, the weather wasn't great but we still had a great time. When we had our cruise it was belting down with rain and nobody wanted to get off the boat lol. Glad you're enjoying yourself a bit more now.

Yes you certainly missed a great coffee from that van. Now though it maybe hard to believe that before parks took over the Port Arthur site it was a small town with a general store post office and a police station. There were cricket matches played on the grounds in front of the jail. and a caravan park there as well. The town hall was in the lunatic asylum, and to be honest the locals thought that a good place for the council to meet .

I'm always conflicted when I visit Port Arthur. A grim history, yet beautiful scenery, but then there is the awful massacre tragedy which is seared into the brains of every Australian over 40. I always think about that day when I am there, which changed our nation and our psyche.

Sadly I felt the loss at the site in a personal way , as my wife’s friend lost a daughter there. A cousin was lucky to have escaped the Broad Arrow , she still works there in Felons

Good to see you out and about. Any plans for scuba diving with seals or a Uni expedition?
