A lot of American food items / snacks are banned in Europe like ritz crackers lol because it has so many preservatives that are harmful … I dream of living in Melbourne but I would get so homesick walking into a store like this 😢 Do you ever seek out Americans over there and feel a certain kind of connection? Yeah, I don't get it. I didn't realise Australian shipping was so cheap in comparison to the US. A few years ago I was asked to pay over $AU100 for only a couple of grams of flat electronic components. It seemed, at the time, to be automated, online shipping prices. But Chinese shipping is obviously waaaaaaaayyyyy cheaper than US. I thought this was basically some kind of hidden, Chinese government subsided "market dumping", ie basically a form of Chinese government subsidy to help international trade, which Australia would never voluntarily do. So I'm surprised to find that shipping from AU to US is nevertheless much cheaper than vice versa. And while people might say, "Oh, yea, of course shipping is cheapest from China, and then cheaper from AU than ultimately the US", there are treaties about reverse-postage stamps that totally disinteivise large differences in shipping costs between countries. (Look up the original Ponzi Scheme.)
