I watched it and I’ll say people have no idea what others have going on in their personal lives. His voice starts to crack when he talks about the sacrifice his family made for him and the pressure. Just that portion shows me this is real to him and I’m for sure rooting for Anthony Kim
Great talent and great personality !!! I don’t care what happened to him as long as he keeps pushing forward & keeps playing.I personally dont think it’s anyone’s business what happened to his nose.People need to leave the man alone about his personal issues & just cheer him on.The nosy haters can just leave no comments instead of the usual rude ones you’ve left before.
"Dude, we all wunna know what happened to your nose." 🤣 Good stuff, Matt. Rooting for this guy big time. Have appreciated your positive outlook on AK from the start.
If I was there in MIAMI for this LIV event which would be awesome but I live in Cali I just book a flight lol but I wouldn’t ask him anything. I would let him know he has a lot of supporters out here.
Thank you for bringing this up. Of course, all of us want to know whats and whys but please ask him "are you enjoying golf?" or "is golf still your thing?
I'm all in, backing AK 💯! Love me some golf here in Okla. Haven't played since 5/17/15 due to severe burns over 32%, left hand pinky and palm bones melted & skin harvested from back and torso. I've found 50spf pants, shirts (not with collar yet) & thin gloves for under the golf glove & 100spf lotion. All poly, zero cotton or linen, so the stuffs hot. Confession: Skin graphs do not sweat, it's skin bandages for healing, not comfort. NEVER comfort, lol. I put this here for consideration only because of your comments on this episode about what challenges others go thru. My approach became "Two options are available, Get up & live or lay down & Don't." It's much more than imagined, difficult to find words to define how it feels. It's Damned weird (nerve dmg) most times, Hella creepy. Anyhow, I had no idea he lives 1.5 hours north of Lawton. Now I want a hook up, lol. I'm no fan boy regardless the popularity, their all human just like us, but I'd still love the conversation! Remain Blessed All
Back for another comment! I also think this would be something special if he really started talking about the specific drugs he was using because we all know someone that has struggled or struggling with drugs/alcohol and it will hit regular people who can relate. I know I can relate I’ve had drugs and alcohol tear down wonderful friends of mine and I wish they were able to figure it out like AK.
@@oahujuniorgolfassociationc6656 what’s a coincidence is one of those friends of mine struggling with drugs was a scratch golfer and when AK was on the tour he would joke with me saying i reminded him of AK mostly because I’m Asian. Fast forward to 2024 my former friend who was a scratch golfer just 12 years ago is now a junkie living in a tent. Comes from a good family with ample resources just can’t shake the drugs.
AK has clearly been in a dark place, having a family has been a catalyst, or at least lets hope so. Demons are so bad for too many folk, if you can get through it, you are correct that’s inspirational. He has an opportunity to be a positive influence again, let’s wish AK and his family well. And unlike many, I don’t think LIV are taking advantage, it looks like they are providing an opportunity and support. That’s equally brave given their need for good PR, let’s hope all prosper safely.
Now that you mention it, they didn’t even talk about who the heck is doing the documentary. Why he can’t say things? because they’re gonna come out in the documentary? Did he approve of the documentary? Is he getting paid for the documentary? They just mentioned the documentary nonchalantly. Like of course, he’s going to have a damn documentary. That’s really really weird to me, what are you guys think? You agree with me that that’s weird.
Very well said, as always. I have no questions for AK, just sooo happy to see him happy and healthy and playing golf! Cool to hear him saying he is falling jn love with golf for the first time!
Am I the only one here that has a hard time feeling sorry for this guy? It’s a tuff assed world for all of us out here in the REAL world. Didn’t he get 10 mill in injury insurance money and all he had to was not play pro golf for a few years? Wow, boo friggin hoo… So in the interim he throws in the towel so to speak and now we have to watch a documentary on his BS? No thx.
couldnt agree more.. After the fererty interview, I thought to myself- " Yeah we heard Anthony speak, but he was GUARDED and gives zero details on his life the past 12 years.. And he of course kept refering to the "documentary". One thing for sure, Anthony Still has the skill of dealing with the press by answering questions in such a way that he "lets no one truly in" unless he wants to. He must have taken PR classes when he was young where you learn to "be vage" in answering questions..Any idea whn this so called documentary will be released to the public?.. I think, if his life story involves , high stakes gambling, drugs, etc, that would make for a great hollywood movie..
People are missing the forest for the trees with the AK story. He was a young cocky kid who made a splash on the scene when he came out. He was famous for partying, having a good time and winning. He then got injured and was paid >$20M on an insurance policy in his 20s which left him secure for life but unable to stay at the top echelon of golf. Compare his life to 99.999% of the population…he wins.
Master insiders are for themselves. I understand they have to care for THE INSTITUTION that is, The Masters. If they can see how it will make THEM look better, they could give him a special invitation, maybe???
Maybe I'm a bit cynical, but it seems this entire "comeback" is nothing more than a huge PR campaign for AK's documentary. Would it be great to see AK comeback and play competitively? Sure! The chances he will? Pretty slim. But clearly Feherty's "interview" was carefully planned to answer NONE of the questions people actually have about AK and was actually only meant to pump interest in the documentary. I wouldn't be surprised to find out Greg Normal has a financial stake in it. While it's a very touching story, it made Feherty look more like an infomercial host than the normally insightful interviewer he's known to be.
Baby steps.. if and when he feels safe he will let us know more of his situation. I’ve noticed his eyes are not symmetrical anymore along with the nose. Maybe a car accident at some point?
I’m sure he was already into recreational use before all the surgeries. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that all the opiates he got post surgeries contributed to him being pushed over the edge in abuse and addiction.
You have sources and are breaking stories...but it's a month later and you didn't break any stories regarding The "Q" at Myrtle Beach...? Very disappointing... 😉
@@mrshortgamepodcast I get that...but I have to be honest, I am starting to lose my interest in the result and in a months time when the results come out, it will just be a case of "whatever". And I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels like this waiting that long! Don't need to know who won...but sure would like to know if a TH-camr did...then waiting to hear who it was would be okay
He/they gave enough away about having an addictive personality. At the very least heavy dinking, more likely harder substance abuse. Would like to know his full story.
Man AK was so fun to watch back in the day and was super disappointed when he disappeared, but that fame and fortune so fast can really put more pressure on a life. I think it's awesome he got a chance to play again but I still can't get in to watching LIV just no where near the same as a PGA event and feel. Also seems when they go to Liv they dissappear and no matter what the pga will produce the legends of golf .
He gave a 20 minute conversation but is holding out for more cash in a documentary that is due out soon to tell what really happened especially to his damn face..... but nice marketing scheme from liv because you had to join the app to watch the video. Still love liv screw the pga

Splendid video Matt ! …Anthony and LIV must recognize all of your amazing content!
Weve all been in bad places in our lives, but to do it under the media public eye must be horrific. Cudos to AK and LIV
Totally agree. Sharing what specific drugs he was on and what happened to his nose, I dno man. I think liv showed some class by not going there

For real. Wth happened to his nose?
As much Cocaine as Artie Lange. Guaranteed...
Your questions for Ak’s presser were top notch!! Touch of class from him as well!
This was essentially a promotion for the documentary.
If I was there in MIAMI for this LIV event which would be awesome but I live in Cali I just book a flight lol but I wouldn’t ask him anything. I would let him know he has a lot of supporters out here.
I hope you get to interview AK!!! Thank you for covering this story
AK is an inspiration. I’m really cheering for him and wish him the best!
MSG I love your passion for AK
Tell Anthony he needs a belt buckle that says "B.K." for Bella. AK isn't playing for himself these days, he's playing for her.
I love burger king
Mmmmm Burger King. Yummy.
Ive got my tickets for 3 days in the birdie shack for LIV Valderrama cant wait
Tell him to keep fighting 🙌🏿

I watched the entire interview with David Feherty. This guy had mental issues which caused his demise. Hope he is healed and come back strong.
See you there 👊🏽
Wish they just uploaded to TH-cam.
Americans love a redemption story. I hope AK makes the most of his opportunity, I'll root for him.
Feherty participating w LIV in promo of AK; for a book desl or ppv documentary.
Ask Anthony Kim
“did he get fitted for his clubs yet, or still playing off the rack stuff”

Missed the opportunity to ask whether if he starts using a belt again...

Ha! AK winning a green jacket... 1 trillion to 1. Never going to happen, bruh.
Exactly! Who joins LIV with goal of playing in majors?
Sounds like it coming in the documentary. 🤷♂️
Agree with your thoughts and comments 100%. For some reason we keep pulling for Jonh Daly...right?

He said in the video he did not love the game before.
