@@BisscuteReacts literally anything you pick by them will be great, but "Failure" is typically one I like to give people that shows off their signature sound a lot (plus I just like the music video). "Topless" is a great one for his growls and so is their music video trilogy for (in this order) "Red Cold River", "Torn In Two" and "Tourniquet". If you want to cry, then "Give Me a Sign" is a good one along with "Ashes of Eden". "So Cold" is another song by them that was pretty iconic, so that is another one you should check out as well. They are just an all around great band that doesn't have a single bad song and they are good people too. Maybe you can do a reaction video for one of their guitarist's solo work. Keith Wallen really deserves a lot more credit than he gets. He does backup vocals for the band and he has an EP out and a great album.
I really enjoyed this reaction, and the song. I also liked your attempt at figuring out its meaning. Per Ben Burnley (lead singer who wrote the song) the idea for the song came to him while he was watching the show Forensic Files about a Jane Doe who washed up onto a shore and ended up being buried without them figuring out who she was. The idea of someone being buried with no backstory affected Ben. She became this meaningless person; a person who lived and died and whatever she did in her life was completely gone - as if she never existed - living an entire life for nothing. If you watch the scene in this video where she finds the room of mirrors you'll notice she has no reflection in the mirrors, as if she doesn't really exist. If you look at the bottom of the grave marker it says Jane but the last name is blurred. During the band's second podcast the last name can be clearly seen as Bryan. Jane Bryan was a popular 1930's actress who was only active for 4 years then married and left acting. Breaking Benjamin's second album is titled "We Are Not Alone" which is also the name of a 1939 film Bryan was in. Ben has never revealed why he chose to use Bryan's name in the video.
I heard it was about a woman he was interested in though she didn't show any towards him, after she passed Ben looked through her diary to see if he was acknowledged, which he wasn't.

Not only is breaking Benjamin an incredible band with countless hits but early 2000s when this song came out pretty much over 50% of all my space pages this was the song they had playing on their my space no joke so it was basically the number one song on social media at the time that everyone wanted to put on their social media pages AK their my space page! 😉
I can't get over much meaning and emotion you get from music. It's such a rare thing these days. This is what music is all about. And your reactions channels what each song is trying to symbolize and it's sooooo entertaining. Maybe because music has always done this to me. This band is a GREAT band for you to cover because they are BIG on putting feeling and meaning into their music and lyrics. Also, the drummer is criminally underrated
The inspiration for the song came from a TV show on Unsolved Mysteries. There was a story of a girl who washed up on shore the police were never able to determine her identity. Don't know about the rest of the world but here in the US an unidentified body is given the name of Jane Doe or John Doe if it's a man. She was buried without ever knowing who she was. As he was writing the song he thought of her life as having no meaning because of not knowing her identity so he created a backstory for her The Diary of Jane.
The mirror scenes are probably a metaphor to explain that someone who has passed away, their spirit or ghost can' t see themselves in a mirror. They don't realize they're dead.
Omg I love breaking Benjamin. I have been listening to them since I was probably 13. Been listening to them for over a decade. I hope you enjoy more of their work! If I could suggest a song from the same album, it would be Evil Angel and Had Enough.
Diary of Jane is about a girl he loved but she did not love him and she passed away. She haunts him as her sole is in purgatory because she committed suicide. He is looking through her diary hoping to find if she loved him, but he knows there was no love for him thus he is in agony.
That tom-floor tom sound at 4:08 is just magnificent….won’t lie….plug into this song countless times to just hear that section alone…the production is off the charts…one of the songs I grew up with…love it to death…
Loved your intensity in this reaction a little head-banging too! These guys grew up about an hour from my house they are based out of Wilkes Barre , Pennsylvania here in the US 🇺🇸 I was lucky enough to see them twice they are explosive live. Interesting fact on the name of the band supposedly they were doing an open mic night and the singer Benjamin Burnley did a mic drop at the end of the song the microphone broke when it hit the floor hence the name Breaking Benjamin. They have a lot of great songs if you're looking for more songs to check out Breathe is sn amazing song and the song So Cold is kick ass too...
Breaking Benjamin was formed in Pennsylvania by vocalist/ guitarist / songwriter Ben Burnley in the late 90's... they captured the 90's angst rock mixed w/ radio-friendly rock... 'Dark before dawn' (2015) and 'Ember' (2018)... Other Breaking Benjamin songs - "I will not bow"... 'Breath' ... 'Red cold river' ... 'Torn in two'.

Fun fact about 2 of their songs off this album Polyamorous and Diary Of Jane, the music videos for each of those 2 songs are shot at the same location, the pool that you see at the very beginning of the video for Diary Of Jane is the pool the band is in for the video of Polyamorous
My interpretation is that this is about unrequited love from his perspective, where he can see her true self. Her perspective is that she can't see her true self and realize that her soulmate is right in front of her. Love is tragic, love is beautiful.
Other bands from this time frame to seriously consider are Taproot, Chevelle and 3 days grace Keep it going on your journey. But definitely explore more of the "Hair bands of the 80's and early 90's.. Can't take you to the time to see and feel it for youself. But it was the BEST times to live for music. Concerts may never be the same again.
If you're confused, the rose symbolizes that Jane passed away, the missing reflections symbolize and when she was in the bathroom she awoke there, sadly she fell asleep in the real world and drowned giving the reflections meaning

the year was 2009… i was a freshman in high school , sitting next to a kid that wore red paint on his body to look like blood (everyday thing) listening to this song on full blast staring into the distance….. i have never been that scared since……
Uuh nice, you got to breaking benjamin. They were a part of many of our childhoods. Still a very solid band to this day but their older albums are some of the greatest out there.
A way this could be seen is as follows... Jane was the love of his life but she died(could have been suicide?) and he has taken it badly enough to be contemplating following her (if i have to I will put myself right beside you. So let me ask would you like that). In his grief he is reading her diaries trying to find his place in her world only to see that he was not there. This changes his grief to frustration and anger towards her memory which kinda wakes him up (desperate I will crawl waiting for some love, there's no love. Die for anyone , what have I become). In the end he leaves her side(grave) and moves on. The interesting part for me is her parts in the video. She wakes up in a bathtub as if waking up from a scary dream. Then she moves from room to room seeing that there are no mirrors and starts looking for them only to find them all gathered in a dark room. Some of them are foggy too. She looks into the mirrors and sees no reflection of hers because she is a ghost and that's when she realizes she is already dead. Gathering the mirrors in a dark room and covering them when someone has died is a superstition that people believe and I think this is what they are trying to highlight.
Perfect songs to be introduced to Breaking Benjamin with! 👌🏻 This band was extremely influential on my style as I learned to play guitar. In my opinion, their other best song is “So Cold”. If you’re feeling adventurous, a fun idea would be to react to Anthony Vincent and Jared Dine’s cover of “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish, but in the style of Breaking Benjamin. It’s an excellent song! “Breaking Bad Guy”
The song Masterpiece by Motionless In White draws the style of the song quite a bit from Breaking Benjamin .. you should check MIW out .. they are releasing a new album on June 10 called Scoring the End of the World
I just saw them a few weeks ago for the second time. They are so good live. The first time was with Bullet For My Valentine, and Avenged Sevenfold. And it was on The Rev's birthday. And it was a sold out show. Fucking epic!
I went right back to my high school days when I heard the opening guitar of the song. This song was everything to me back in '05, '06. Another one I would recommend, which they completed much more recently, is their song, "Dear Agony", the acoustic version featuring Lacey Sturm, the former vocalist of Flyleaf. They recorded this one for the Aurora album that they released in 2020. Also, "Dance With The Devil" is from the Phobia album as well as "Diary Of Jane." They also remade "Dance With The Devil" on acoustic with Adam Gontier, formerly from Three Days Grace, currently the lead vocalist for Saint Asonia. And, as usual, keep it metal. \m/
Breaking B 🔥⭐️🔥 groundbreaking sound So much Awesome Music they produced well before their time🙌 I would Highly suggest **So Cold** my absolute favorite song from them 💯 !Btw- Your Hair is Gorgeous Bisc⭐️😊 Loved the reaction ( as always 💛👍)
The entire Phobia album is one of the best albums of the 2000s but Breaking Benjamin doesn't have 1 bad song. I'm from the area of Breaking Benjamin and Motionless In White. The Poconos have made 2 metal legends. I been listening to Breaking Benjamin for 20 years and he has not change his music for nobody. Unknown Soldier, Had enough, Ashes of Eden, Anthem of angels, close your eyes, Firefly.
This band is probably one of my favorites of all time, they don’t have any song that isn’t worth a listen, I personally have all their discography on Spotify, and I never get tired to listen to.
one of my favourite songs growing up, had it on repeat for like half a year. also i love how the last chorus evolves with the background vocals. not sure whats its called.
It's great to have some insight on this song, yeah it's a great song. You should check out more songs by them, they have other great ones like Anthem of the Angels , Breath, Hallow and Torn in Two. Breath is on the same album as The Diary of Jane and the others are on three different albums that came after the Album that this song is on. Any questions? lol.

Love is tragic, love is beautiful.
man breakin benjamin is pure nostalgia. music from my teen years 🔥🔥
"Breath" is pretty cool like "So Cold" for the first one song of this band, listen these song in the Halocene Cover :3 Love fron venezuela :*
Some songs to do are Home,Firefly,
Simple Design,Polyamorous just a few suggestions
BB Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame !!! Lets Gooooo !!!
I love the way he killed the smile out of ur face when he sais no love , next time let us just listen to the song without talking
Can you do Losing You by Dead by April? They’re a metalcore band from Sweden. They mix metalcore, pop and electronic together and have a unique sound.
Far Away and Dark of You are my standouts but there's sooooo many great BB songs.
Other bands from this time frame to seriously consider are Taproot, Chevelle and 3 days grace
Keep it going on your journey. But definitely explore more of the "Hair bands of the 80's and early 90's.. Can't take you to the time to see and feel it for youself. But it was the BEST times to live for music. Concerts may never be the same again.
the more reaction videos i watch the more i realise nobody can keep a beat with the song.
Far Away by Breaking Benjamin is phenomenal too!
my favorite band. my journey with BB started from this song
I've met Ben twice, cool dude, one of my absolute favorite bands! More please :)
If you're confused, the rose symbolizes that Jane passed away, the missing reflections symbolize and when she was in the bathroom she awoke there, sadly she fell asleep in the real world and drowned giving the reflections meaning
Happy new year I hope you are having a epic and blessed day and night I watch and love ❤ all your videos and I love your mind body heart and soul your truly are a angel 😇 sent from heaven to bless us with your amazing reactions you are epic and I will always support you much love ❤ boo 100
Happy new year, thank you so much for the kind words ❤
@@BisscuteReacts you're very welcome 100
the year was 2009… i was a freshman in high school , sitting next to a kid that wore red paint on his body to look like blood (everyday thing) listening to this song on full blast staring into the distance….. i have never been that scared since……
I used to listen to "Phobia" and "Dear Agony", the music albums with this song. It was a great music album.
Breaking Benjamin is great!🐰👍
I have to agree they are great I’ll need to check more 💝
first time i listened to this song when it came out it bummed me out that id never hear it again for the first time
Uuh nice, you got to breaking benjamin.
This band was extremely influential on my style as I learned to play guitar.
I actually know the song from Billie I will check the cover ❤️
@@BisscuteReacts Breaking Benjamin thought it was so true to their sound that they put the video on their official band website for a little while. 😁
One of my favorite bands as a teenager!
The song Masterpiece by Motionless In White draws the style of the song quite a bit from Breaking Benjamin .. you should check MIW out .. they are releasing a new album on June 10 called Scoring the End of the World
So cold is definitely another good Breaking Benjamin song to check out
I just saw them a few weeks ago for the second time. They are so good live. The first time was with Bullet For My Valentine, and Avenged Sevenfold. And it was on The Rev's birthday. And it was a sold out show. Fucking epic!
Jealous !!!
Thank you so much 💜
They don’t make albums where you skip tracks, they are all play through albums. Great band and lead singer is a poet.
My Ex introduced me to Breaking Benjamin ever since then I've been hooked 🖤🤘🏻
Hard not to get hooked to them
Breaking B 🔥⭐️🔥
groundbreaking sound
So much Awesome Music they produced well before their time🙌
I would Highly suggest **So Cold**
my absolute favorite song from them 💯
!Btw- Your Hair is Gorgeous Bisc⭐️😊
Loved the reaction ( as always 💛👍)
This entire album is great, pick any song, you will like it!
one of the bands early on that got me more into rock/metal instead of pop, country, rap etc
Dear agony ..my 1 of favorite song of this band
My favorite breaking Benjamin song, killer
This band is probably one of my favorites of all time, they don’t have any song that isn’t worth a listen, I personally have all their discography on Spotify, and I never get tired to listen to.
I look foward to more , thats for sure
🙏🙏🙏♥️
Please React Amaranthe -Amaranthine♥️🙏
The acoustic version of diary of Jane is good too, but definitely listen to Breath!

Hometown proud!!! We love them much!!

They are amazing ❤
My top BB songs that I’m SURE you will love
Breath
Torn In Two
Sooner or Later
So Cold
You
I like so much this is song. Thay you!!! you are beatiful)
You can also listen to Three Days Grace(Adam Gontier version), like Breaking Benjamin, I liken their music styles to each other
Also check out Red Cold River and Failure…both are excellent…love the reactions! Keep it up! 🤩
one of my favourite songs growing up, had it on repeat for like half a year.
also i love how the last chorus evolves with the background vocals. not sure whats its called.
Any questions? lol.
One of my fav bands ever 🥰
It is more Grunge or Alternative Rock.
Thank you for not stopping every 10 seconds lol
