I really enjoyed this reaction, and the song. I also liked your attempt at figuring out its meaning. Per Ben Burnley (lead singer who wrote the song) the idea for the song came to him while he was watching the show Forensic Files about a Jane Doe who washed up onto a shore and ended up being buried without them figuring out who she was. The idea of someone being buried with no backstory affected Ben. She became this meaningless person; a person who lived and died and whatever she did in her life was completely gone - as if she never existed - living an entire life for nothing. If you watch the scene in this video where she finds the room of mirrors you'll notice she has no reflection in the mirrors, as if she doesn't really exist. If you look at the bottom of the grave marker it says Jane but the last name is blurred. During the band's second podcast the last name can be clearly seen as Bryan. I can't get over much meaning and emotion you get from music. It's such a rare thing these days. This is what music is all about. And your reactions channels what each song is trying to symbolize and it's sooooo entertaining. Maybe because music has always done this to me. This band is a GREAT band for you to cover because they are BIG on putting feeling and meaning into their music and lyrics. Also, the drummer is criminally underrated
The mirror scenes are probably a metaphor to explain that someone who has passed away, their spirit or ghost can' t see themselves in a mirror. They don't realize they're dead.
The inspiration for the song came from a TV show on Unsolved Mysteries. There was a story of a girl who washed up on shore the police were never able to determine her identity. Don't know about the rest of the world but here in the US an unidentified body is given the name of Jane Doe or John Doe if it's a man. She was buried without ever knowing who she was. As he was writing the song he thought of her life as having no meaning because of not knowing her identity so he created a backstory for her The Diary of Jane.
Omg I love breaking Benjamin. I have been listening to them since I was probably 13. Been listening to them for over a decade. I hope you enjoy more of their work! If I could suggest a song from the same album, it would be Evil Angel and Had Enough.

My interpretation is that this is about unrequited love from his perspective, where he can see her true self. Her perspective is that she can't see her true self and realize that her soulmate is right in front of her. Love is tragic, love is beautiful.
If you're confused, the rose symbolizes that Jane passed away, the missing reflections symbolize and when she was in the bathroom she awoke there, sadly she fell asleep in the real world and drowned giving the reflections meaning
Fun fact about 2 of their songs off this album Polyamorous and Diary Of Jane, the music videos for each of those 2 songs are shot at the same location, the pool that you see at the very beginning of the video for Diary Of Jane is the pool the band is in for the video of Polyamorous
Breaking B 🔥⭐️🔥 groundbreaking sound So much Awesome Music they produced well before their time🙌 I would Highly suggest **So Cold** my absolute favorite song from them 💯 !Btw- Your Hair is Gorgeous Bisc⭐️😊 Loved the reaction ( as always 💛👍)
Other bands from this time frame to seriously consider are Taproot, Chevelle and 3 days grace Keep it going on your journey. But definitely explore more of the "Hair bands of the 80's and early 90's.. Can't take you to the time to see and feel it for youself. But it was the BEST times to live for music. Concerts may never be the same again.
Uuh nice, you got to breaking benjamin. They were a part of many of our childhoods. Still a very solid band to this day but their older albums are some of the greatest out there.
She fell asleep and drowned in the bathroom, that's why she couldn't see her reflection. At first, the mirrors she saw until the final one were all devoid of the glass, only the frame. Once she found the final mirror she couldn't see her reflection, as ghosts don't have them.
I just saw them a few weeks ago for the second time. They are so good live. The first time was with Bullet For My Valentine, and Avenged Sevenfold. And it was on The Rev's birthday. And it was a sold out show. Fucking epic!
I went right back to my high school days when I heard the opening guitar of the song. This song was everything to me back in '05, '06. Another one I would recommend, which they completed much more recently, is their song, "Dear Agony", the acoustic version featuring Lacey Sturm, the former vocalist of Flyleaf. They recorded this one for the Aurora album that they released in 2020. Also, "Dance With The Devil" is from the Phobia album as well as "Diary Of Jane." They also remade "Dance With The Devil" on acoustic with Adam Gontier, formerly from Three Days Grace, currently the lead vocalist for Saint Asonia. And, as usual, keep it metal. \m/
Perfect songs to be introduced to Breaking Benjamin with! 👌🏻 This band was extremely influential on my style as I learned to play guitar. In my opinion, their other best song is “So Cold”. If you’re feeling adventurous, a fun idea would be to react to Anthony Vincent and Jared Dine’s cover of “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish, but in the style of Breaking Benjamin. It’s an excellent song! “Breaking Bad Guy”
A way this could be seen is as follows... Jane was the love of his life but she died(could have been suicide?) and he has taken it badly enough to be contemplating following her (if i have to I will put myself right beside you. So let me ask would you like that). In his grief he is reading her diaries trying to find his place in her world only to see that he was not there. This changes his grief to frustration and anger towards her memory which kinda wakes him up (desperate I will crawl waiting for some love, there's no love. Die for anyone , what have I become). In the end he leaves her side(grave) and moves on. The interesting part for me is her parts in the video. She wakes up in a bathtub as if waking up from a scary dream. Then she moves from room to room seeing that there are no mirrors and starts looking for them only to find them all gathered in a dark room. Some of them are foggy too. She looks into the mirrors and sees no reflection of hers because she is a ghost and that's when she realizes she is already dead. Gathering the mirrors in a dark room and covering them when someone has died is a superstition that people believe and I think this is what they are trying to highlight.
Thank you for watching the video, It means a lot to me .

Ben is probably my favorite vocalist, his voice is unique and powerful. I'll be excited to see you check out more of them.
For sure I will 💕
I've met Ben twice, cool dude, one of my absolute favorite bands! More please :)
My Ex introduced me to Breaking Benjamin ever since then I've been hooked 🖤🤘🏻
Hard not to get hooked to them
My interpretation is that this is about unrequited love from his perspective, where he can see her true self. Her perspective is that she can't see her true self and realize that her soulmate is right in front of her. Love is tragic, love is beautiful.
My favorite breaking Benjamin song, killer
Dear agony ..my 1 of favorite song of this band
If you're confused, the rose symbolizes that Jane passed away, the missing reflections symbolize and when she was in the bathroom she awoke there, sadly she fell asleep in the real world and drowned giving the reflections meaning
I used to listen to "Phobia" and "Dear Agony", the music albums with this song. It was a great music album.
Breaking Benjamin is great!🐰👍
I have to agree they are great I’ll need to check more 💝
i saw them in concert they was so good live
Damn....feels so nostalgic 🥺
Fun fact about 2 of their songs off this album Polyamorous and Diary Of Jane, the music videos for each of those 2 songs are shot at the same location, the pool that you see at the very beginning of the video for Diary Of Jane is the pool the band is in for the video of Polyamorous
one of the bands early on that got me more into rock/metal instead of pop, country, rap etc
So cold is definitely another good Breaking Benjamin song to check out
Breaking B 🔥⭐️🔥
groundbreaking sound
So much Awesome Music they produced well before their time🙌
I would Highly suggest **So Cold**
my absolute favorite song from them 💯
!Btw- Your Hair is Gorgeous Bisc⭐️😊
Loved the reaction ( as always 💛👍)
They don’t make albums where you skip tracks, they are all play through albums. Great band and lead singer is a poet.
"Breath" is pretty cool like "So Cold" for the first one song of this band, listen these song in the Halocene Cover :3 Love fron venezuela :*
Thank you for not stopping every 10 seconds lol
One of my favorites
They really are the best! 🤘🏼🔥
They are amazing ❤
Other bands from this time frame to seriously consider are Taproot, Chevelle and 3 days grace
Keep it going on your journey. But definitely explore more of the "Hair bands of the 80's and early 90's.. Can't take you to the time to see and feel it for youself. But it was the BEST times to live for music. Concerts may never be the same again.
3:45 My doctor right before my lung surgery be like
Hometown proud!!! We love them much!!
Hype hype
Uuh nice, you got to breaking benjamin. They were a part of many of our childhoods. Still a very solid band to this day but their older albums are some of the greatest out there.
some other good ones "breathe", "i will not bow", "give me a sign"
Pretty much all of Phobia is phenomenal piece of art
She fell asleep and drowned in the bathroom, that's why she couldn't see her reflection. At first, the mirrors she saw until the final one were all devoid of the glass, only the frame. Once she found the final mirror she couldn't see her reflection, as ghosts don't have them.
I just saw them a few weeks ago for the second time. They are so good live. The first time was with Bullet For My Valentine, and Avenged Sevenfold. And it was on The Rev's birthday. And it was a sold out show. Fucking epic!
Jealous !!!
My top BB songs that I’m SURE you will love
Breath
Torn In Two
Sooner or Later
So Cold

The acoustic version of diary of Jane is good too, but definitely listen to Breath!
I love Ben’s voice and I love your voice and accent
Some songs to do are Home,Firefly,
Simple Design,Polyamorous just a few suggestions
Yowza, what an outfit she picked for this one.
360P video, 4K song and reaction. God BlessU cuie.
Thank you so much 💜
I like your east european english accent 😃 Nice reaction! ❤️
Perfect songs to be introduced to Breaking Benjamin with! 👌🏻
This band was extremely influential on my style as I learned to play guitar.
I actually know the song from Billie I will check the cover ❤️
@@BisscuteReacts Breaking Benjamin thought it was so true to their sound that they put the video on their official band website for a little while. 😁
this song is masterpiece!~ 🤘🤘
Can you do Losing You by Dead by April? They’re a metalcore band from Sweden. They mix metalcore, pop and electronic together and have a unique sound.
This entire album is great, pick any song, you will like it!
