I still don’t but much respect for all the work put into suck a nice example. Damn California and smog laws, unless it’s before 73, something like that would never fly here.
Scottie !!! Absolutely Fantastic !!! Cool Huge Engine !!! The Color is Awesomeeeee !!! Thanks For Sharing This Car !!! Scottie You Are The Best !!! Ciao !!!
So they finished it! This build was profiled in Mustangs and Fast Fords a couple of years ago. Though I'm not a Ford guy, I appreciate a good built car when I see it. Good one as always, Scottie!
Just saw this Mustang II on someone else's channel who was covering SEMA. They gave you a shoutout in the comments so here I am. I never would have imagined a Mustang II could look so badass. That took some imagination to come up with this hotrod. Can't imagine how much time and money went into it. Not even recognizable. It almost looks it would be an Australian or European model.
It looks like a Mustang II body grafted onto a S197 chassis, the fenders flares are straight from an early S197 and even the front bumper looks like a reworked S197 piece. I always thought the Mustang II looked dumpy with it's too short wheelbase and massive overhang on the nose. This one looks SICK! Best modded Deuce I've yet to see!
Thanks for sharing. I almost bought a Mustang II a few years ago from a custom builder who stretched the front end (tubular) and flared the fenders. The car had more of an old cobra stance. To add to it it had T-tops and was a coupe, kind of looked like an old mini viper. Finally the Mustang II is cool.
See, ford could learn a little something from the people who made this car. You don't need a new body style, you don't need fancy "luxury" features, you need. Badass body and engine.
daz samuels Oh brother, no question. But to make this "dog of a car" a "real" Mustang, that's like creating what Ford couldn't in those days. The only reason the Mustang ii's were under-powered was because of the oil crisis in the 70s. If Ford didn't make the Mustang ii economy efficient, the Mustang would have died.
the number one reason that era of stang crapped out was handling. what is fixed here is not just muscle. the front wheels are moved forward to where they should have been from the factory. then, like any other muscle car, any power put to it would not plow around corners. ford then cheaped out on almost every feature of the car. it started back then where servicing the car and parts made ford more money than selling the car out of the factory.
That's incorrect. I've had a 530hp mustang II since 1989, and it handles very well, with upgraded springs shocks and 275/40ZR17 rubber. The fastest I've had the car is 178 mph, with more to go.
I remember seeing the rendering in Popular Hot Rodding back in high school. This is a huge inspiration for what I would want to do with a Mustang ii! Oh and the same team is building another Mustang ii Scotty!!!
This one was wrecked at one time?....I'm in touch with the owner every now and then...I don't remember Him telling me about another one ...it's possible though...
@@ScottieDTV I remember hearing about that. No update as to which company took over the restoration. On Facebook you can see A-Team making a Mustang ii with S550 Mustang parts
Nothing negative from me to say about this one. It is a fantastic build, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. You always manage to find real honest-to-goodness, top-notch vehicles, Scottie. Cheers to you, brother!.
Mind blown. That is one of the best executed custom cars I've ever seen, and I'm NOT a big fan of most custom/restomod style cars. In fact I hate many of them. Easy to build a lot of other cars. Took a little more to build such a badass car out of a Mustang II. Unreal. Looks amazing.
That is a great car, and all metal as well. Nice work guys. I had a 2002 ford F-350 with a V-10 that truck hauled booty. I can imagine how fast that car is. Thanx Scotty!!!
I love the custom intake manifold he's built for the V10. I've seen random pictures of this particular car before when I was just surfing around checking out mustang builds. He did what many thought was impossible, he built a desirable mustang II.
The poor Mustang 2 is so underrated. They should have kept the 60's style headlight buckets and haunches. This build really shows how nice these things can be. I love how the front end looks on this build, brilliant stuff.
I seen this car at the Portland auto show this year at the expo center. It was definetly a sight to see & to me was the most beautifully cool crafted car there, I gave it the most attention out of any car & many others did as well! I would have loved to have heard that triton v10 roar though! Unfortunately I didn't get to hear it :(
I know there's not much stock left on the car, but maybe with builds like this people will finally start to realize that the Mustang II is a great platform for one hell of a fun little car.
One cool stang my dad has a 1975 4cyl one I’d love to build one for him with an eco boost or small v8 great car bro love how u tucked wheels under it properly unlike from factory
This baby is pure sects! The Mustang 2 has always drawn the ire of most Ford enthusiasts as "the ugly (low-compression gas-crisis) duckling... This bad-boy is definitely the exception! Absolutely gorgeous!
I'm 18 and own a Mustang ii hatchback, it's beautiful but no where as cool looking as this one, wish i could buy a kit for the shape. good to see the II look how it should have back in the day
Zane Sporrer Originally they sold ground effects (after market) for the Mustang II. I rebuild mine into one bad-ass car by taking the 2.8 liter V6 and putting on oversized pistons, 4 barrel, headers, ect.
Wow great eye again Scottie, this is sick. What a great concept, love every aspect of this, the best part is to take a product of the darkest days of Detroit and make it into a supercar.
I had a 1974 Mustang II 4 banger as my first car...hated it. But I love this car. First II I've ever seen that I liked. I also like the V10 idea. I get sick of seeing the same cars modified the same way over and over. These guys didn't take the easy "302 or LS" way out. GREAT JOB!
This car deserve wayyyyyyyy more attention and video coverage like dyno tuning vids and I would love to hear it rolling down a drag strip. I can only imagine the sound of this car with 38mm ITB's on a dyno pull and drool.
I've always liked these Mustang II and my older brother and my friends always thought I was nuts for wanting to build one of these but I've always loved the odd and unique cars that other people seem to dislike! I've always thought they had great lines and had great potential to made into a cool custom car! Really these cars came with the extremely popular Mustang II rack and pinion steering, and all they need is to lower it with some modern suspension upgrades, modern disc brakes at all four corners, a stronger rear diff. and drop whatever Ford powerplant you want into it! As far as looks, all it really needs is lowered a little bit and put some bigger wheels and tires on it like 17's all around or 18's in front and 19's in the rear! I may get some flak for saying this but I've always thought the Mustang II was a far better looking car than the Fox body Mustangs! I know people love the Fox body 'Stangs for drag racing because they are light and can be built into mind-blowing drag cars, but the Mustang II was also a light car and with a little time and money could be built to do the same! I never liked the squared off shapes of the Fox-body Mustangs and I'm glad Ford went back to the retro-styling to make it look more like the old iconic Mustang styling of the '64-'70 cars we all know and love! I think this guy and his crew at his shop knocked this one right outta the park! Thanks for sharing ScottieDTV!!!
My pleasure Brother...I'm a big fan of...this one...lol....the cool thing about people is...we all see things differently...This video proves you are right....with a ton of work, money and talent....the Mustang II can be made to be cool!!...Rock on!!...glad you enjoyed it..
Wow! This is just fantastic! I would love to drive this car! I did not know Bend, Oregon had a builder of this caliber. Way cool Scottie and a fine shoot as always.
This is an absolute beauty. Great engineering. Wonder how it goes. That much weight in the front must really challenge the handling, but this car would be so much fun.
The II's have always got a lot of hate, but if you actually take the time to really look at them, and the lines you see how it beautiful they are, especially the Cobra II and King Cobras. If you put a 1965 Shelby GT350 side by side with a 76 Cobra II, you will see how similar they actually are in design and size
an aussie car builder used a similar motor to build a cool '50s mercury hot rod called "Mercules" it was blue I think it might have gone stateside to compete in some of the shows there. There was also a supercharged V10 Mustang that was built here as a "burnout" car I think it was a 2000 model red convertible .
Would love to see an under chassis view!! I'll bet that the mechanicals are awesome. I love the blue and I'm not a red guy but I think this would be absolutely captivating in magenta.
Ford was actually experimenting with the V-10 in a 04 Cobra chassis, different set of cams and tune through a 6-speed, might still be a vid floating around somewhere
Noting impressive about factory Mustang IIs. But they have loads of potential as customs and have been almost totally overlooked for that purpose. Also good for sleeper cars. No one expects them to go fast.
Scott, please make your videos more detailed. Your videos are awesome... But, it would be great if you could include more detailed information regarding the powertrain, interior, reasons for the unusual characteristics of these cars. Thanks. Huge fan.
Have a look at the TA27 Toyota Celica GT Hatch (72), looks like a Mustang :). BTW I have to say that is the best looking mustang setup I have seen.................
@racer98, you need to get a Toyota Tundra TRD engine that has been configured to be the same one in statistics as the NASCAR Toyota Camry, then do whatever that you can to such a Toyota Corolla from the time that you had mentioned, and you could have a legitimate Japanese take on the classic muscle car.

Never thought I would say I want a mustang II
lol..I had to say it twice in the same week end!
Neither would I
Me neither but I would love a V10 mustang 2
I still don’t but much respect for all the work put into suck a nice example. Damn California and smog laws, unless it’s before 73, something like that would never fly here.
The Best Mustang II that ever lived !
Larry Mulalley No doubt!!
Gotta be the best Mustang II I've ever seen.
Me to!
Scottie !!! Absolutely Fantastic !!! Cool Huge Engine !!! The Color is Awesomeeeee !!! Thanks For Sharing This Car !!! Scottie You Are The Best !!! Ciao !!!
lol..Great car for sure...glad you enjoyed the video...
So they finished it! This build was profiled in Mustangs and Fast Fords a couple of years ago. Though I'm not a Ford guy, I appreciate a good built car when I see it. Good one as always, Scottie!
I was blown away by it!!
I know you were! It does have one hell of a stance, with a V10 making it go.
So much for the Mustang II being the red headed step child of the Mustangs. Killer car.
I hear ya..the Rocket car and this...One week end in Detroit and my whole view has changed!!l...lol
Cool!!....I hear ya...this is way cool!
I had no idea a Mustang II could look so fantastic.
Looks better than a 2020 version.
Very cool build for sure!!
I agree...very cool!!
This is the coolest mustang build I've seen. You took a mustang II and made it literally breathe taking, my jaw dropped like 5 times watching this.
lol..I agree...But I just shoot the videos...
Thanks for sharing. I almost bought a Mustang II a few years ago from a custom builder who stretched the front end (tubular) and flared the fenders. The car had more of an old cobra stance. To add to it it had T-tops and was a coupe, kind of looked like an old mini viper. Finally the Mustang II is cool.
lol..I hear ya....takes some work....but it can be done!!
See, ford could learn a little something from the people who made this car. You don't need a new body style, you don't need fancy "luxury" features, you need. Badass body and engine.
Well put Brother!!
Wyatt Godtel this a great great build. but the mustang 2 was a dog of a car, id have gone straight for a mustang fastback gt 5.0 1988.
daz samuels Oh brother, no question. But to make this "dog of a car" a "real" Mustang, that's like creating what Ford couldn't in those days. The only reason the Mustang ii's were under-powered was because of the oil crisis in the 70s. If Ford didn't make the Mustang ii economy efficient, the Mustang would have died.

I never thought I would say this but that is one awesome Mustang II.
I had to say it twice in one week end!!!..lol
It truly is a fantastic build. What was the name of the color? I didn't quite catch what he said.

Very cool for sure!!...Glad you liked it!!
Best looking Mustang II I've ever seen in my life!!!
lol..Very cool for sure...Thanks for checking it out!
If this was the way the put out the Mustang 2 during the late 70's this car would've rocked!!! Holy smoke that is nice! Great find Scottie!
It sure would have changed the legacy of this car....lol...glad you enjoyed it!
such a beautiful car but it's so polished and so shiny all you can see is the ceiling kind of hard to see the car. that's awesome!
Glad you liked it!

Can I say that mustang has to be the best looking one I have ever seen I would take that over a new one any day of the week no hesitation at all.
Jeff Riley Right on...Way cool for sure!!!

The poor Mustang 2 is so underrated. They should have kept the 60's style headlight buckets and haunches. This build really shows how nice these things can be. I love how the front end looks on this build, brilliant stuff.
Right on....Glad You liked it!!
Damn I was hoping he would crank it up so I could hear that V10 come alive. Still, badass Mustang II.
Glad You liked it!!
Very beautiful car. My wife's favorite color is blue, and she was just absolutely blown away! 👍👍 to the builders!
lol..glad you enjoyed it!

I dig it to....
So true this is awesome and should have been at the top for the trophy!
It's not refined enough for that..imho....but a very cool car for sure...

I'm good the way that it is....
I recently saw this car in bend oregon at a car show and it looked sick.
Cool..I also shot the one you use for your avatar....

Kind of caricatural, but damn, does he sound blown away! :)
"Maaaan, dude!"

I'm 18 and own a Mustang ii hatchback, it's beautiful but no where as cool looking as this one, wish i could buy a kit for the shape. good to see the II look how it should have back in the day
That's funny. When I was 18, I had a yellow mustang II fastback as my first car. :)
Zane Sporrer Originally they sold ground effects (after market) for the Mustang II. I rebuild mine into one bad-ass car by taking the 2.8 liter V6 and putting on oversized pistons, 4 barrel, headers, ect.
I've been waiting to see this build. Saw it in mustang and fast fords a while back. Thanks for posting!

That blue looks awesome and was definitely perfect for the look of this build!.
I agree...Works for Me too!!

Scottie thanks for showing this mustang what a nice ride.
You're welcome Brother...Glad You enjoyed seeing it!!
This makes me miss my '77 Cobra II. Great video.
Thank you....Glad you enjoyed it!

I hear ya....that Rocket one is pretty cool to!?!?
this car is insane I love it . if they made them like this the first time the mustang would have been the famous one.
No one would speak badly of the mustang II that's for sure...lol....glad you liked it Brother...I agree...very cool!

Scott, please make your videos more detailed. Your videos are awesome... But, it would be great if you could include more detailed information regarding the powertrain, interior, reasons for the unusual characteristics of these cars. Thanks. Huge fan.
Will keep that in mind...
i like it very professional and putting a v10 in it nice
I agree....I'm a fan too!!
It actually looks good.... but its probable the V10 talking to me!!!!
Nice Build!!!
