- After the feedback from the other lock Jimmy up video guide, I threw together this video in the hopes of allowing you to hear the audio cues and clearing up common questions.

Maybe he has an irrational fear of cupboards.. like, maybe he saw a really scary shirt hanging in a cupboard one time, and ever since then he won't go near one. 🤔

@@thecryptonic8584 That's a bummer. The developers really put in a lot of effort into the game, so I was curious to see what the animation would be like if you were to look through the key hole while he's locked in.
I know I'm a little bit late but... guys? What are you talking about? There is an animation. When you look into the keyhole while Jimmy tries to unlock the door you can see his fingers and something that he uses to open it

You must really know your way around the hotel 😮 nice! I had to lock him up in the finale because he continually cornered me 😢
Soooo much easier to bait him by waiting in the hallway. As long as you make sure you're facing the direction he'll come from (best to use a dead-end) then there is zero chance of getting bonked when you turn to enter the room. He's not that fast. Calling out to him from the room rarely makes him enter, it only works for me if I do it while he's walking past right outside the door.

Best way to practice this is to use the third floor (which is double edged sword) the third floor is small enough to let you hear jimmy yelling from anywhere, while it is also the easiest area to get bonked in. I suggest working with this floor before moving to the first and second floors.
Also you CAN hear Jimmy's footsteps if he leaves the room.
So at the end, Jimmy only got him because he turned around. So would you be able to infinitely stand there not moving with Jimmy just waiting for you to turn around or does he just get you anyway after a long enough time?
Heya! The game turns you around to face Jimmy if he jumps you from behind or the sides unfortunately ☹️. However, I think there aren't any FMV clips of Jimmy running from far away to you (say down a hallway). So, technically I think you could just stare at where he is coming from and both you and Jimmy would be locked in a stalemate.

And also you can tell if jimmy is in the bathroom by the icon in the bottom right goes red if it’s not he is outside
is it possible to yell for him in one room, leave it and go to the room across from it and watch him go into the room you called him in?
I don't think so B. As far as I know there isn't an animation of Jimmy checking a door across the hallway. If he doesn't check the room you are in, I believe it would play the clip of him either peaking in your spyglass, walking past your room, or the creepy one where he pops up from beneath the spyglass.
With that said, I haven't tried very hard to do that scenario as I am always spooked out when calling to Jimmy 😄.
Rewatching this for like the fifth time (I don’t know I lost count...) I finally got the game!! I started playing! I’m gonna lock jimmy as much as I can!!
I’m going very slow, I’m using a controller, but I feel like it’s easier for me.

Bugging you one more (and hopefully last) time. I played it a few night ago and I called jimmy to the room and he entered. My nerves was was high that I kept on making mistakes so I saved and left the game. Now I’m not in a safe spot when I go back. 😆

Edit that I made a few seconds after making this comment: P.S., what do the different menu button colors mean? Also, when you just “evaded” Jimmy after hiding in a wardrobe, once you get out, will the menu button always be red regardless of if he’s in the hallway or in the bathroom?

Or you can use the scrying mirror which can either; 1; Spawn jimmy in the floor youre in, or 2; If jimmy is on the same floor, summons him to the room. (Only in extreme mode i think.)

theres some detailed issues that i wonder:
1. what if u go inside the room near closet, and face to the door when jimmy is about to come in, what will be the animation be when jimmy can only attack u from behind or turning?
2. can u peek at the spying glass when jimmy is coming in(door is locked), jimmy will make a "hhhhh~~~"sound, but what will be the animation be?

1. The game auto turns you towards the wardrobe and you can't look at him as he approaches from the door, so he will attack from behind.
2. If you are talking about Maya is inside the room: you can look into the spying glass just before Jimmy comes in. The reveal of Jimmy pushes Maya out of the spying glass and forces her to look towards the room's bathroom. Maya cannot turn back towards the door while standing next to it as Jimmy enters.
If you are talking about Maya is outside the room and we have just locked Jimmy in: you can peek through the keyhole, which shows Jimmy picking the lock with his tools. You cannot look into the spyglass from outside the room.
I have a question in this video why do you to take one step towards the wardrobe but don’t enter while Jimmy is trying to enter the room

Heya, you absolutely can. The keys for rooms are scattered about the rooms on different floors. As long as you have the key you can lock Jimmy in 👍.

I've heard that in the finale when Maya runs around looking for friends, do things safely. Doesn't matter how far behind Jimmy is, or if you locked him in a room. The moment you enter a room and rescue a friend, he is seemingly reset and prowling the halls

How did he even get out of the locked room?
I've always thought he just had a bunch of keys that he was sorting through, aside from the master key, to get out. But I'm not sure. Maybe Jimmy is a master locksmith with his bat.

Heya Time, I think he has a set of keys for all the rooms which he uses to unlock the regular and deadlocks on the doors 🤔
@@RemisVancosid He can't undo deadlocks, the keys are unique and the Master key can't undo that lock, which is why you should definitely grab them
@@planofattack6830 interesting. In that case, i guess he undoes the deadlock with his bat somehow and gets out after 38 seconds haha.
What happens if you see his head around a corner and then just stand there and look in his direction? Can he come around the corner and get you or will he just wait for you to turn around?
I think he will wait until you turn around, or you approach the corner. I don't believe Jimmy can run at you if you're looking directly at him from far away 🤔

What does locking him up do?
It pretty much keeps him in one space for around 38 seconds, allowing you to run around the floor without the fear of getting hit.
wait, so there's still one thing i'm confused about. if jimmy left the room and went into the hallway, how do you lock him in and how does he not bonk you when you exit the room?
Heya, so when Jimmy enters the room when you're hiding, he either steps into the bathroom and waits for you, or exits the room and goes into the hallway. If you leave the room while he's in the bathroom (don't pause at the room door while leaving), spin around and lock the door: bam, he's locked in. If you leave the room while he's out in the hallway: bam, you get bonked.

Yeah. Jimmy hiding in the bathroom to bonk you as you exit the room is your opportunity to lock him in the room.
Can you lock him in permanently at all?

@@darksentinel082 Thanks, but respectfully, that's irrelevant to what I'm asking. Merely curious if it's possible because game mechanics, bugged or not, interest me. The world record 100% speedrun exploits a bug wherein he doesn't spawn at all if you don't spend a long enough amount of time on any floor, for example.
You can lock him in permanently if you lock the door and continually look at the door I believe haha. There seems to be something that stops Jimmy from leaving if the player can see the door.
Apart from that, I don't believe so, but I don't really know tbh.
I've tried that timing exploit on Jimmy's spawn but I can never get to my destination and turn around fast enough ☹️.
@@RemisVancosid Jimmy can come out if you're looking at the door too, the lights will flicker when that happens for some reason
@@theshermantanker7043 weird, I tested it out and I stared at the door for an extra 3 or 4 minutes but never had Jimmy come out. I ended up going into the room to check if he was ok and he bonked me from the bathroom.

Really doesn't feel worth the effort for 38 seconds.
For me personally it made the finale a lot more manageable. I found it to be especially useful on the third floor where there is a lot less ground for Jimmy to patrol. Locking him away for 38 seconds meant an easy path back to the elevator.
