AI is pretty good. If I were ever to move back to KC, it would probably be to Brookside.

Yeah AI did a pretty good job. Few things we may have changed around but overall not bad. What about brookside specifically do you like?

@@livinginkansascity7117 I grew up in the area, but now live on the east coast. I'm not sure I would move back to KC at all, it's just too slow paced, slow growth and too suburban oriented for my tastes now. Maybe in another ten years if the Royals move downtown and downtown KC becomes a little more vibrant, KCI has some international flights and KC has more transit and recreation.
As far as Brookside. It's walkable, charming homes, mature trees, the trolley track trail (hopefully will also be streetcar some day), being so close to the heart of the city, can walk or bike to the plaza or waldo or even downtown, streetcar is nearby, it's quiet, no traffic, people are nice, it's close to suburban stuff like big box stores, but you don't have to live out there.
If I were younger, I would probably live in Crossroads, River Market and yes West Plaza as that area has some nice urban single family homes.
Other city neighborhoods I would consider would be Coleman Highlands, South Plaza, Union Hill, Hyde Park and Beacon Hill.
I'm not fond of KC's suburbs in general. Too conservative, people afraid of city etc and KC's suburbs are stuck in the 80's with no transit etc. But if I did have to choose, I would probably choose Briarcliff. Great views, close to downtown and KCI, nice topography. Lee's Summit would be my second choice. They have a vibrant downtown with amtrak service and all the lakes and recreation out there.
I can't stand anything in Johnson County, way to bland, far from the city and the people think they are better than everybody else and the KS side has done nothing but take things from KCMO rather than cooperate with KCMO. The state line is the major reason KC as a whole has struggled to remain relevant. It's hard to compete with places like Denver, MSP and Charlotte when KC has spent that last 50 years competing with Kansas. JoCo decimated downtown KC by poaching so many companies from there. All KS does is subsidize sprawl often at the expense of KCMO. And don't get me started on KCK. What a joke. Subsidize sprawl in the hinterlands, while most of the city rots away.
So that's my take, probably more than you asked for!

I live in Hyde Park. Lots of guesswork in the commentary here... the houses were not built in the 30's the were pretty much all built between 1890 and 1920. But even if they were built in the 30's, that would still not be Mid-Century Modern, as you said. That's a VERY different style that started in the late 40s and has almost no representation in Hyde Park.

I think ChatGPT maybe relying on hipster blogs a little too much. Still, it did a pretty good job except for Hyde Park, which never feels especially safe to me.
