You could tell Shawn didn't care about how this interviewer handled the whole interview. Just pause it at 8:47. The interviewer kept assuming stuff and kept cutting him off. A 90s hbk would of told him something if that interviewer would act like that.
They did tell him, they came up with a hundred scenarios and Bret said "I'm not losing the belt in Canada" he proposed to drop it later on a house show in the US but at that time he would have been a WCW worker... Is Vince just suppose to trust him!? Even though he had a no compete clause, he could still just show up and throw the damn thing in the trash, it had happened before with Madusa, the Women's belt was terminated as a result of the backlash and Vince couldn't afford it happening again.
When I heard that Bret wanted to forfeit the title on RAW the next night, not actually lose and pass the torch, I blame him for MTL, it's his fault for not checking his ego. No one walks out without dropping the belt properly, unless injury sidelines them.
