    Hi Angela, I just want to say how much I enjoy your videos. Thank you for putting your time into good free advice for us. I much appreciate it and always look forward to watching your next video. I also have learned a lot from them and am really happy with my more minimal and simplified life. It is so great to know where everything is and to only have what I use and enjoy.

      Ha ha! It works really well! We do have hampers on each level of our home - because we have kids and we want to ensure the dirty clothes get where they need to be. But I think once they are grown we will get rid of the hampers all together! For now I use them as my laundry baskets ❤️

      @@ArrowHillCottagewe don’t have kids at home any more and my husband has a garage washer for his work clothes so I just leave the top of my washer open and throw laundry in as I need to. Yes, I know I could sort, but I’ve never had anyone come up to me and tell me that my clothes look unsorted, so it all goes in and gets clean. I’m 74 and the simpler the better!

    I love storage ottomans and other functional storage pieces but I get what you're saying. I loved the suitcase idea for storing ornaments. I store mine in cute gift boxes from the dollar store and then the boxes can go under the tree as decorations themselves until it's time to pack them away.

    We had a small U-shaped kitchen with a peninsula separating a table/seating area. My husband got up at 6am for work and fixed a bowl of cereal. After 3 years, one day I was putting groceries away and he just happened to be in the kitchen. All of a sudden he was asking why his cereal was over here and his cereal bowls were over there and that they were the furthest from the fridge ! Well, I did not eat breakfast and I had not eaten cereal for decades. It was an easy fix, both cereal and cereal bowls were placed in a cabinet next to the fridge. Easy-Peasy.
    We moved into a smaller house with 2 L-Shaped counter spaces. I have moved item around 3 times so that they will make more since, will communicating with him if it doesn't make since to him, just let me know... the house, basement, garage, and yard are all easily organized and then re-organized as needed.

    I have no kids, just pets. Rather than walking the dog, I put her out on a run. It allows her to exercise and potty which is why dogs need walks. I'm done decluttering in my office. The bedroom is next. I did a yard sale once. It was a lot of work for little return. I toss emails every time I open it. I ordered a smaller shelf for my office. I transferred everything I could to the new one, and decluttered the rest. The office looks so much better now. I do not have a dryer. I use a clothes line. I stand my stuff in drawers.

    • @ArrowHillCottage
      @ArrowHillCottage  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The style of our home is a cottage. Our second level is not a full story…the living space is built into the roof. Though our home is definitely larger than a historic cottage it does maintain the traditional concept of two bedrooms upstairs. I’m trained as a residential architect. Just fyi. People often confuse home styles and expect that they are based on size…they aren’t. It is more a matter of layout and exterior shape/elements. ❤️

    Lazy hack. If it’s a turd, just flush it entirely away (don’t keep trying to polish it) and start over. 😂😂.

      @@ArrowHillCottage lol. THANKS!!! 🥰🥰🥰
      Well you know….that last straw is always gonna happen…when it’s really a turd. 🤣🤣 So I guess it’s finally here. Lol.
      No point yammering on about the latest last straw drama that nobody wants to hear about…I don’t want to hear it anymore myself out of my own mouth either. Lol. And it will never end ya know. One thing right after another (when it’s a turd lol). All of that (putting out fire after fire after fire that I didn’t even light up) being a thing of the past will be absolutely wonderful even if there is by some small chance some other kind of new suckage. Idc. I’d rather roll the dice than have to polish the turd one more time. Lol. And yes. I’m calling it a POS, Bcuz that’s what it actually is and I won’t miss it at all. Lol.
      Word to the wise tho. If a narcissist builds a big empire with some shiny facade and offers you a cut of it….don’t get too excited about it. It’s still only a doo doo sandwich…Bcuz they are always full of crap. Lol. In a tidy little nutshell. It may be your family or it may be your “friend” or it may be some cheesy, sleazy salesman. Just don’t believe the hype.

    • @ArrowHillCottage
      @ArrowHillCottage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Whatever it was that caused you to see that last straw - it was for the best! Leave that ‘turd’ in the past! 😂

    • @goodenoughgirl8102
      @goodenoughgirl8102 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ArrowHillCottage lol. Yes. Def. It’s just too gross to keep. 🤣🤣 True that. All I did I guess was kind of quick check that I wasn’t merely running off in blind rage desperation. Lol. (I did that way back and it didn’t last-and this time at least I have more than two pennies to rub together lol. Therapy is great, but enough money is crucial). But yes. There is a legit, solid path here for me now. A kind of “final exodus” that will be more permanent and sustainable. (Even tho some inflamed angst is a part of that too, that’s not all there is to it. Lol). Finally it is starting to click for me. lol. Or idk. Maybe I just now finally figured out how to use my anger as good fuel for a worthwhile journey. Lol.
      I don’t like to admit in public. The real unfiltered version of how this hood goes. But now it’s bugs. And tied to that is a renter who will be a forever child/victim of circumstance and wants to make me their mommy-like stage 5 clinger level…who is also the main reason for the bug problems (among a thousand other problems). I can say that I’m holding my own against the critters but this is just too much for my OCD butt. Like constant vigilant state. Bedbugs and roaches. As freakin IF!!! On top of the constant “help me” mommy drama.
      And so I hide out Bcuz I don’t want to be a toxic rager like one parent was to me and I don’t want to be smothered either, but I literally am disgusted with this person’s incapacity to stop having drama and causing me problem after problem. (Yesterday it was this that and the other. Today it’s bugs. Tmrw it will be something else). But also she is just one product of many just like that on this entire block. So if it wasn’t her, it would be another. And that’s what I mean when I say “the toxic machine.” And that’s how I reasoned that some kind of drama was never going to end and the only solution was to just get myself out of the whole Shebang. Fortunately my brother has invested in the heat treatment equipment. Prob my best bet (as my side isn’t “infested” but more like “at risk”).
      I kid you not tho. If I shut my door for some private time she gets like “are you ok? Aka “are you mad at me?” Has to say “hey” every time she hears me puttering about. Asks me if I want to eat some every time she makes food. STOP IT!!! lol. A child who doesn’t WANT to ever grow up but wants adult privileges regardless. Well anyways. Wasn’t going to say all that but maybe one last rant. Ha ha. To clarify just how bad this environment really is. All of the issues can really add up and if it was just a bit of shoddy construction alone, I could prob deal. But this is just too much. A real Twilight Zone. It’s the sort of thing when people say “you just can’t make this sh*t up.” That’s where I live. Lol. 🤯🤯 Been here 5 years and never had a bedbug issue. Barely had any roach issues. But look at it now. (The whole street is mostly gross people in infested gross places they don’t keep clean etc and 20 million bugs trying to now invade my home. It’s a miracle I lasted even this long lol). So I’m not kidding when I say “slumlord business.”
      And so this is what it is on top of not being able to hardly ever connect with intelligent life forms due to what I’m surrounded by and how it sucks me in to wear myself out to “tend” to it all. So when am I gonna “go out and meet people.” Never likely if I stay here. At best it will be a huge struggle. It really is long overdue to finally put an end to all of it. Lol. Leaving will be like dropping 90% of my problems and stress Bcuz most of these never were MY problems anyways. (Like thanks Laban…you wanker).
      Well thanks for bearing with me. Thank God it will be my last rant (hopefully-or close to the last thing to have to profusely word vomit and bemoan about lol). Ugh! But yes. I QUIT. Take this job and shove it. Lol. (Expletive, expletive, expletive…Go pound sand 😂😂). Should be good tho. Last time I got this mad, I wound up with a rather nice Jeep. Lol. So let’s go ahead and keep it coming. Old Pharaoh gonna have to pay out the nose. Like cough it up buddy. You can’t make slaves out of people anymore. Not me anyways. Lol. 😅😅

      Oh my! The first sign of a bedbug and I would be DONE too! And I’m sorry to hear about the person who needs constant attention. Hopefully she can find someone else to comfort her who doesn’t mind the constant contact - and it can be mutually beneficial for them both. Ha ha! Can’t wait to hear about your new place once you get there! ❤️
