Matchless Amplifiers' Avalon 30 1x12", foot switchable Reverb combo brought to you by FatSoundGuitars.com and Matchless Amplifiers.
Notice how the foot switchable, parallel reverb design ducks the fundamental tone nicely simply adding ambiance without getting in the way or having any negative effect on the amp's tone versus a series type of reverb design.
Greg's '61 Gibson Historic SG, Fat Neck ES-335 and Fender '51 Custom Shop Nocaster Tele are running directly into the Matchless Avalon via a Lava Cables Blue Demon cable. All guitars are loaded with the original, stock pickups.

I think cleans on this amp are very identical to your Swart AST Pro cleans with same guitar . Maybe you have set the pickups low to achive this balance of electrical and wood tone from the guitar , but i must say that in every video your tele sounds amasing with every amp you play. Very fine tone with compression and wood resonating coming from your hands . I thing some how you are a Tone Freak : ) Those Alnico III sound actualy like Alnico 5 Pups ! Very sweat

I'm not the worlds greatest guitarist or anything but I think when you're going for a really clean tone a guitarist should back off on the volume a tad to avoid distortion when you pluck hard. Sounds amazing though, such a beautiful sounding amp. And I want to fall in love sounded so full and touching or soulful.

Wow, that's awesome. The amp sounds great and you do the amp a great justice with your playing. I was wondering how you were getting some of the tremolo sounds. Looks like get it from your movement swaying the guitar back and forth. Very nice!

Super fat tones @ about 8.24 with the tele!
All combos should have an enclosure like this one. What I don't like about combos is that the tubes are usually upside-down(making them more likely to wiggle loose, as well as causing heat to rise to the electronics). I also don't like that most combos, by design, can't have a closed speaker enclosure. This design solves both of those problems.

Could you please describe the difference in tone between the C30 and the Avalon even though the Avalon is based from channel one of the C30. I loved the class A Matchless sound but found the C30 to piercing for my ears in the highs.

I wonder why the combo uses an 8 ohm speaker. Isn't the transformer meant to be run at 16 ohms? They could use a 30 watt 16 ohm speaker.
