For me the greatest thing about your playing is that you don't play boring licks (like the majority of guitarist all sounding the same), you create amazing sonic landscapes just like a painter does with colors, and you really know how to use the 'electric' component of the sound. And ultimately you inspire me to sound like me and find my musical identity like you have found yours. Thanks.
That's very kind of you to say, thank you very much. Life is too short to try and sound like someone other than yourself. We all have unique one-of-a-kind voices inside us, and that's a gift to explore.
Hey everyone!! I wanted to tell you all THANK YOU! for diggin' my demo and I appreciate all the good words and support. Happy Holidays and all the best!
Thanks so much for checking out my videos! The Elixer video was fun to do but the two people off camera doing the interview were really tall and far apart so it was hard to decide who to talk directly to! Thanks for your support in getting my CD and I'm really glad you enjoy my music! Cool !
What a brilliant sounding amp, and what a brilliant guitarist. I am left wondering how good the amp really is though, I have a feeling you'd sound good through a 10 watt practice amp.
Thank you very much! I prefer to use smaller, low wattage amps these days and like my Swart AST PRO and Tungsten Crema Wheat. There are so many fantastic amp choices these days. It's a new Golden Era of "tone" for sure!
Sounds great!..how much is it and does it come in a combo?...P.S...Greg, do you do all the video and editing yourself?..and what camera are you shooting with?
Jeez Greg - unbelievable demo sir. the first 0:50 floored me. AlsoI got your Tailgate Troubador CD download about two weeks ago and it's a wonderful album. I really appreciate your stuff and all you do here and on TGP. Thanks sir.
@EWWWLAHLAH No real desert island amp, they are all just tools for different colors and textures. I do prefer lower wattage amps these days to save my hearing! No I don't keep the amps that I demo, they get returned. Really glad you like my demos, thanks!
Your playing sounds amazing. The Z-Wreck enhances it greatly, but I'm sure you'd sound just as awesome through anything else. I think the Z-Wreck is my dream amp.
Greg. Thanks for your demos! So good! 2 quick questions.. 1. What is your "Desert Island" guitar and amp? 2. Do these companies give you these amps to demo and keep or lend them to you temporarily? Thanks again!
Thank you! From what I hear the 2022 Russian sanctions, previous supply chain and manufacturing issues have really slowed down tube production. But it seems some hi-fi tubes manufactures are working hard to retool and manufacture guitar amp tubes. Hopefully this will produce more tubes and overcome current shortages.
man your playing is sweet! I recently tried out the Maz 18 20th anniversary and that amp blew me away!! loved how full it sounds and how much clarity and headroom you can get from it. What would be a good complimentary amp i play jazz, country, rock (lots of good clean head room)?
@MaxNorman93 Thanks very much! I use a very small room reverb from IK Multimedia, nothing special since it's barely in the mix. You could use just about any small reverb to get a similar sound. Adding this room reverb helps reproduce the natural sound of the room since nobody puts their ear two inches off the speaker grill to listen to an amp.
Greg, this is a KILLER demo. Get Stu to spot you a Collings for a demo! I think you'd love the SoCo. Anyway, could you share the camera you used to capture visuals, and the mics you used for the cabinet and the voice over. Thanks!
Greg, I saw your interview with Elixir, crazy how similar our view of playing guitar/music and the things which inspire us, I also can barely play other people music but got osmosis by listening, I kind of agree with 100% you said there, I bought your album last year too and I love those clips you put on your website, the freebies :) same as your review and also your way of shooting photo/videos (i.e. Family) I should open a fan-club, shouldn't I!!! :) Greetings from Japan, Marco
Another incredible demo greg! Absolutely love your playing, you always bring out the best in each and every amp you play through...I'm now the proud owner of a tungsten crema wheat thanks to your videos :) I was just wondering if you could tell me about the reverb setting you use in pro tools when recording your demos (ie the crema wheat demos) I've been trying to record my amp but can't get a sound anywhere near as good as yours haha! Also is it just the one close mic or is there a room mic to
i have been trying to find an amp that sounds best for me. i am in a modern country cover band, and also in a classic rock band. i have a gibson les paul probucker pickups, and a fender american elite tele 4th gen pickup. currently playing thru a dr z m12 1x12 cab and head. anybody have any suggestions? want to be able to have those nice twangy sounds when i need them, BUT also be able to have the really nice full good toned rock sound when doing the rock stuff
Jake Kaiser I was playing in a classic rock/alternative band( on hiatus) and started work on a modern country cover band. I have 78 Marshall JMP 50 watt and 71 4x12 cab and a 79 Fender Deluxe Reverb
Jake Kaiser Those cover EVERYTHING big and small gigs! If you want newer gear the Dr Z Remedy is Plexi type tones and cleans up well although most modern country has low to mid overdrive anyway!
Matchless Avalon 30watt 4-el34 and 5 - 12ax7 tubes with effects loop will be great for any guitar or sound ! Not as harsh as this amp and more complex harmonics and sweeter highs than this demo !
Very interesting color on the DrZ amps. Always has a fizzy flavor to me. More than most other boutique EL84 based amps such as 65amps. Def personal taste - and great playing by the way. I couldn't get to your level of proficiency if I was dropped onto an island with nothing but a les paul and an amp. :)
What happened with this Chanel? I haven't visited in ages and I noticed the subscriber count is down massively? Anyway, much love from the UK. Nice to hear your playing again after so long.
I've been looking at several Dr.Z's. The Maz-18 w/o Reverb Head, The smaller 8 watt Z. Why do they price their little 8 watt model more than the 18 watt? I have a Randall 4x12 cab with Greenbacks and a Egnater Oversized 2x12 Cab with Lead 80's in it. Can you get good old Rock tones and Blues from these Pedal friendly amps?
The one person who disliked this video probably prefers Esteban amps. Anyways, I have a Dr Z Maz 38 Sr and I usually play a Fender Broadcaster clone with it. Best tone I've ever achieved. Good playing
Greg , I love your playing ! Fat Bluesy awesome style...I have seen many of your vids and I am wondering which amp do... YOU ...like best ? not that I can afford even one of them...LOL.
@CRANKYONE100 Thanks! Yes, I do everything, the filming, recording, pics and editing with a Canon T2i and S95, plus Final Cut Pro X and Pro Tools audio.
For me the greatest thing about your playing is that you don't play boring licks (like the majority of guitarist all sounding the same), you create amazing sonic landscapes just like a painter does with colors, and you really know how to use the 'electric' component of the sound. One of the best guitar players I've ever seen live.
Coming back to all these amp videos. Playing is still of the charts to this day!
Thank you! Just play with your heart and own style, the world needs this.
Hey everyone!! I wanted to tell you all THANK YOU! for diggin' my demo and I appreciate all the good words and support. Happy Holidays and all the best!
What a musician! Greg you could play any instrument and entertain, you are simply incredible. Your vids are my favourite of all time!
Thanks so much for checking out my videos! The Elixer video was fun to do but the two people off camera doing the interview were really tall and far apart so it was hard to decide who to talk directly to! Thanks for your support in getting my CD and I'm really glad you enjoy my music! Cool !
Greg has the best reviews

One of the best amp reviews I have seen on youtube
Greg your playing is just awseome.
@Scenero1 Thanks very much! Glad you like my CD, I really appreciate the support!
I came to check out the amp, but stayed for the guitar playing. Fantastic work and the amp ain’t too shabby either!!
This was nothing short of perfect... Like if I had the cash, I'd go out and buy this amp... just because this demo was superb!
Same for me! Plus, Brad Paisley uses it. :3
What a brilliant sounding amp, and what a brilliant guitarist. I am left wondering how good the amp really is though, I have a feeling you'd sound good through a 10 watt practice amp.
Thanks for your feedback Greg, appreciate it. You are a great, great player. Enjoy the summer! Cheers from Stockholm, Sweden
I'm happy to see a new demo from you. Great demo and galactic playing as always.
Missed you, man! Very clear video and sound. Great to have you back..
Thank you very much! I prefer to use smaller, low wattage amps these days and like my Swart AST PRO and Tungsten Crema Wheat. There are so many fantastic amp choices these days. It's a new Golden Era of "tone" for sure!
Greg, I’ve been waiting for your second album. 🙏🏻
Good to see you're back. Enjoying your cd!
Yeahhhhhhhh back again with a great demo!!!
Return of the king!!
Sounds great!..how much is it and does it come in a combo?...P.S...Greg, do you do all the video and editing yourself?..and what camera are you shooting with?
Awesome. Great to see another take on this amp..it sounds AMAZING but I suspect LOUD! So good to see you back in demo mode Greg!
Thanks VERY much! Yes, my Nocaster is a Fender Custom Shop from 2000 and is 100% stock.
Greg!!!! You're back on youtube!!!! All the best to you, buddy!
Thank you! The only pedal used in this demo is a MXR Carbon Copy delay pedal and the text during the video shows when it is engaged.
Greg V has returned! Yes!
@GregVmusic Hey Greg, as much as I've enjoyed your other videos, it's great to hear you playing again.
@crazyb3fan Thanks for the support, really glad you liked my CD!
Jeez Greg - unbelievable demo sir. the first 0:50 floored me.
AlsoI got your Tailgate Troubador CD download about two weeks ago and it's a wonderful album. I really appreciate your stuff and all you do here and on TGP. Thanks sir.

Hey dude, killer video, I was wondering if you could you please tell me what mic you used for this video?
Wow! What a stylish comeback! Wonderful amp and playing. Is this R7 goldtop a new one in your arsenal? What kind of pickups is she equipped with?
Very nice playing and guitar sound greg!!( so love your track with the bogner xtc classic)...
Do you have use a zwreck amp on your album or not?
You are an amazing musician and I'm totally digging your video work. Awesome!!!
@malcatron Thank you so much, glad you like the video!
That was tasty..........thanks.
Greg. Thanks for your demos! So good! 2 quick questions..
1. What is your "Desert Island" guitar and amp?
2. Do these companies give you these amps to demo and keep or lend them to you temporarily?
Thanks again!
You are very kind Derek, thanks for your comment!
Thank you!
Greg, as always...STELLAR!
Good stuff. Yo Greg what, in your opinion, does the not too distant future hold for the tube and the tube amp.
@@GregVorobiov thank you for a reply that gives me some hope for the future lol !
Hi Greg, sweet demo!! Did you use a pedal for overdriven Tele and LP tones? Please advise :)
Welcome back, Greg V!

Friggin AMAZING. Does Dr. Z make a 2x12 Combo of this Amp? (Or even a 50 Watt?)
This thing is based on the fischer wreaks!! Those are 30 watt amps because od the el 84,s. That thing will part your hair and give you a nose bleed.
Hi! What pickups do you have in your tele??? Amazing playing and tones, by the way!
Greg, this is a KILLER demo. Get Stu to spot you a Collings for a demo! I think you'd love the SoCo.
Anyway, could you share the camera you used to capture visuals, and the mics you used for the cabinet and the voice over. Thanks!
Superb video. Can you tell me what camera you used for video?
Thanks!
Damn fine playing...great awesome tone
Thanks! My Custom Shop Nocaster is 100% factory stock including the pickups.
I want that Tele!!!!Great feel,touch,playing!!!!!Can i find your guitar?Is it vailable still?This particular one!!!Thanks!!!!
@TonechannelTV Thanks! Collings are very nice guitars.... Canon T2i and S95 cameras, close mic MD421, room mic sm81, voice over SM-7B.
Welcome back! ;)

Fender Bassbreaker 18/30
Laney Lionheart 20W Head & matching Cab (4x12, 2x12)
Dr Z Maz 18
What delay setting are you using? It sounds terrific.
@RockinSi Thanks for the kind words!!
Sorry I'm not familiar with the amps you've listed to give you the correct answer. Perhaps call Dr. Z?
I love that tune! It's was on the first album I ever bought: K-TEL records "Believe In Music"
You have sick guitars. Your playing is sick'r.
Thank you! This shot with a Canon T2i but I currently use Canon 5D MK3.
Sounds great! I just ordered on of these beauties! Could you do a demo of it just using a strat?
Very unique style. I find it refreshing instead of hearing the same worn out licks as the TH-cam taught guitar players/robots.
What happened with this Chanel? I haven't visited in ages and I noticed the subscriber count is down massively?
Anyway, much love from the UK. Nice to hear your playing again after so long.
@acousticmountains Thank you very much!
@lebema1 Thank you! I borrowed the Goldtop Les Paul for the video. It's a great guitar with '57 Classics I believe.
I've been looking at several Dr.Z's. The Maz-18 w/o Reverb Head, The smaller 8 watt Z. Why do they price their little 8 watt model more than the 18 watt? really nice picking
WOW!!!!
Greg, have you been out surfing? And, your voice is different! ANywayz, great to see you doing demos again!
@pinnetta Grazie mille!
At 7:58 I can't believe I heard somebody play a song by Argent :-) They used to be great in the late 70's.
@Barnekkid Thank you!
Greg , I love your playing ! Fat Bluesy awesome style...I have seen many of your vids and I am wondering which amp do... YOU ...like best ? not that I can afford even one of them...LOL.
u rock!
@CamHawesMusic011 Argent - "Hold Your Head Up" I loved that tune as a kid.
is this thee max norman producer ozzy and vendetta nikki buzz ??? met in detroit while i mixed vendetta
Thanks but I don't remember settings since I just turn the knobs until it sounds and feels good to play.
@Stringprodigy Yes, yes it is!
I wonder if i should order a ceritone version of that amp!!!
Wreck Jr. in just a few weeks!
@lexist7 Thank you very much!
@Realfi Thanks!
@itsloudman Many thanks!
Anyway it sounds amazing pure!
@CRANKYONE100 Thanks! Yes, I do everything, the filming, recording, pics and editing with a Canon T2i and S95, plus Final Cut Pro X and Pro Tools audio.
@thesjkexperience Thank you!
