Commenting on this is like going back in time with a Time Machine. Such an amazing tube amp that sadly is no longer produced. I did not see any Friedman and Marshall giving such joyful tone as soon as your a guitar being hooked on.
@roknfnrol JD Simo is good friend of both Bob Reinhardt and I. He's a fantastic player here in Nashville and not only has heavy chops but a lot of soul mixed in. Plus he's also a super nice gracious cat, I always look forward to hearing him play.

When I listen to the playing of J. D. Simo I experience a holy envy. It's such a pleasure just to sit back and hear the sounds he's able to produce wishing I was as capable on the guitar. Nonetheless, his playing offers me encouragement.
Wow Chris now I see why you were going "ON and ON" about JD doing this video/demo of the SENTINEL for "The Amphouse"! What a great demo of this "SUPERB SOUNDING AMP" in the Reinhardt LINEUP! I love JD's style of playing! He is now under my radar of new guitarist! Bob should be really proud of his "SENTINEL"! I am totally diggin my new MI-6 combo and I am wondering how cool it would be to have one of BOB's oversized 1X12's to add along with my 1X12 combo! Great audio and video quality!
jd simo reminds me jimmy page sooo much in this video though their styles are so different from each other! I love his '58 replica les paul!!! I had the rare occasion to try one and I really appreciated the sound and feel of it... I'm just mad about those guitars!!!

love all your vids greg!! i wanted to ask you what tube amp you would recommend to someone who is looking for a (no more than 40 watt amp) around the $800 dollar price range. I originally wanted to buy a used fender pro reverb, but could find a seller that shipped to puerto rico. Now I am thinking of buying a used deluxe reverb reissue. I like playing blues, rock, funk, and jazz. What would you recommend?

dont sound as open and alive as a lot of amps Ive heard in that room ! the first half of the vid sounds like he is playing with all the oomph of a Big Muff with fuzz gain at 2 and guitar volume at 2 , very flat dull imo
You know, all these "New" amps have one thing in common..."Sounds just like a MARSHALL"...you know this makes no sense why wouldnt you just GET a MARSHALL? Want the ultimate Marshall that makes ALL the Classic Marshall tones? You need a JVM 410 Joe Satriani signature amp..not to be confused with the standard JVM 410..they are apples and Oranges. This amp sounds great but it does nothing I can't do with the JVM JS....I am still waitng for someone to build a new demographic that has nothing in common with the Marhsall circuit...everybody says get a Friedman, guess what? HOT RODDED MARSHALL..AND I can get everyone of those tones with my JVM...trust me I have owned a TON of Marshalls one of my favorites was my Moded 69 Plexi..I had 6550s in that and man did it kill, BUT I can get the same tone with my JVM...and the JS doesn't sound all compressed like the standard 410...this is a great sounding amp in this clip but again.....

This is really cool hearing early versions of Simo songs in this demo. I think he plays at least four from their first album.

Obviously I'm a big fan of Bob's amps, and this one sounds exceptional. Some really nice tones, clean and gritty, happening with this amp. Very nice!

I guess these amps aren't made anymore and haven't been for a long time. It's a shame because this particular model sounds great.
this would have been the perfect amp for jd simo,wish he had used it! he is a great guitarist but i like his tone with marshall style amps better...
