Thanks for the nice video and hello from Florida. I am going on an Alaskan cruise in May 2025 and might try to get the crab legs. My eyes popped out when I saw the price but I guess that isn't so bad when you split the cost 4 ways. I have been to Alaska twice and enjoyed seeing the glacier and the tram ride.
So glad you had the wonderful time you did in Juneau. It's changed a lot since I lived there in the '90's: the140 yr old wharf I lived on the end of has been replaced by Tracy's Crab shack. You had lunch approximately where my tiny apartment perched. Juneau's a lot more tourist friendly with the new layout & amenities. Congrats on such great destination choosing!❣️
Hello, I'd like to know more about "the other" Tracy's crab shack? We will be there for May cruise. I thought there was just 1? I like not busy. Where is it at? 😊
Fyi: you can take the local bus from downtown to Mendenhall for $2.00 per person each way. It also drops you off one and a half mile away from visitors center. $8.00 sure sounds better than $120.00
Thanks so much for watching!! Check out our Maine trip if you love a good cold coast in the Fall!! we had a wonderful time and have 2 more cruises planned for next year! Hawaii & Mediterranean!!
your welcome ! here’s our link to our skagway review we also have a sitka, seattle & cruise review on this channel! Thanks for watching 😊 th-cam.com/video/OWpB6lg-Zqw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Cr3HoVMrSMnsOO5-
Bluebird Guided Tours are the best way to cruise Alaska. They cost more but include a LOT more at a much higher quality. Makes Princess cruises seem like a seat in the local outhouse.😁 🤣❣️
Been to Juneau on a solo cruise. Loved Alaska so much, I'm going back and bringing my wife. I had no idea there was two Tracy's King Crab Shacks. I grew up in the southern Ontario area and spent most of my summers in Muskoka. Alaska reminded me of Muskoka quite a lot.
Was there last October. It's a tourist trap. Very overpriced. You can buy the same size and quality crab legs at Sam's Club or Costco for $24.99/lb. We tried it just to see if it tastes any different. No it didn't! Just steamed frozen crab legs.
yes … but we were there on a cruise and just went with the tourist experience… once we were home we actually ordered king crab for a much better price and had a king crab fest. But it was still fun :)
ALL seafood in Alaska is required by law to be frozen before it's sold. They only wly you're going to get it fresh is to find fisherman. There used to be small charters that would take you on a scenic cruise & cook for dinner whatever was caught during the day. You might be able to find someone still doing that or willing to. It's a fabulous way to experience Alaska.
Hello.. there are 2 locations.. one is directly on the pier the other a lil ways away.. same prices same experience etc. just way less busy! Our Uber driver suggested it instead of the main location. Location B is on Whittier street and location A main location is on peoples wharf.
@@Tbaby9361 we were coming from Mendenhall glacier not the pier but it’s about 5 min from the pier and you can still see water from the second location.
Hi , we booked thru the cruise ship.. ovation of the seas with Royal Caribbean, I will try to find what the company name was, but it was a 4.5 hour excursion and they picked us up at the pier and transported us to the marina where we got on the boat and transported us back to the pier, our excursion started around 4pm and they got us back to the boat at 8:30 pm hope that helps. Thanks for watching be sure to check out my other videos on our alaskan cruise port reviews!
We went in September of 2023. September 8th on Ovation of the seas… it was absolutely one of our favorite vacations! We really enjoyed it:) you will love it! what cruise ship are u on?

When I went to this glacier. We were prevented from going to the waterfall and glacier, due to a mother bear and cubs.
This was in a September .

$70 per lbs last week

I thought $50.00/lb. was expensive for king crab here in ND.

I would be too afraid of grizzly bears to walk anywhere in the woods

Hi. What company did you use for your whale watching excursion?

Good video. Will be there in May. Greetings from Oz
thanks for watching!
I bet the taxi driver got a cut of the crab leg bill.
😂
No that doesn't happen here
Wow nice watching from Nepal
Thanks for watching
What was the name of the whale tour?
we booked it thru the ship , royal carribean ovation of the seas .
Kinda expensive. You can usually book thru anyone but the cruise ship & save over 50%.
I would say go for salmon, crab is over priced
I am having both while in Alaska
My husband had a lot of salmon while we there but i love crab legs… but honestly i like snow crab better than king crab!
