- F1 returned from its 2022 Summer Break with the Belgian Grand Prix! And with all the driver transfer drama behind us, and plenty of engine penalties, we were set up for a really exciting race! Somehow though it still ended up being dull... regardless here are my thoughts on the whole weekend!

Next week: SAME F THING. Max wins from any position, Ferrari messes up again the perfect lineup of drivers and cars they had in years, Mercedes’ sneaks another one on the podium and all the fandom wails in pain at Riccardo having another shit race.

I like the end, Max out of his car standing on the hood then watching Charles cross the finish line 75 seconds later!

After a 5 hour drive back from attending The Classic at Silverstone and missing the race, I had a plethora of options to catch up.
F1 official highlights? No chance, comedy review, thank you very much.
The perfect alternative

Ferrari is in a dire need of some major changes, this race was just pathetic and not just beacuse of that 'suicide' fastest lap attempt. This race looked like they already gave up the season alltogether. They'll have a hard time holding that second place and seeing Mercedes making some significant progress especially when it comes to race pace I don't think they'll be able to hold on to it.
On the brighter side Max and Red Bull are on fire this season, I think no one expected them to be this dominant. This was definetely one of the mightiest drives in recent memory. It's a shame we don't have a big battle for the title, but at least Ferrari keeps the season entertaining in other ways. To be completely honest I'll be surprised if Ferrari wins another race this season.
Not sure what galaxy Max was from today but it must be far, far away.
The Belgian GP was about as exciting as artificial insemination, but at least they actually staged a race this year.
That "mobile chicane" pun was awesome.

Actually VER had the most difficult time passing Stroll. Stroll’s complete lack of special awareness seemed to worry him a bit. Watching Max tiptoeing around that guy was an… interesting… sight.

A couple of months ago I said Danny Ric should go to Indycar if he can't get an F1 ride. I'm sticking by that. If he comes to the states he'll do well because his driving style would work well in the series. His personallity would also make him a fan favortie amongst Indycar cans who don't watch F1 too. If he wins an Indy 500 that, combined with his Monaco win, gives him two-thirds of the Triple Crown. DO IT, DANNY! The Indycar paddock isn't the pressure cooker F1's can be so a change of scenery might do him a world of good. He's my favorite driver and I think It would be great to see him being competitive and having fun again.

That's true. Bringing him in to get fastest lap, only to have him speed and get a 5 second penalty is peak Ferrari though.

I think if Hamilton had stayed in the race, it'd have been a lot more entertaining. I feel like he and Max are the class of the field, especially in terms of managing tyres over a stint (see: Hungary or basically any race last year). Hamilton may have cleared Sainz and at least taken longer for Max to catch. It's all coulda-woulda-shoulda of course, but I think we need Lewis with better machinery again in order to have a consistent Title fight at the front, at least until Ferrari/Leclerc iron out their mistakes.
Max next challenge should be winning race from pit lane start

I honestly don't think so, Charles is quite liked in the Netherlands. And a lot of dutch people, me included, would like to see this season be a little more exciting. I really hope Charles wins at zandvoort. I also think he needs a win really soon to give him some fait back as he is clearly getting really fed up with how things are going right now.
You got several things wrong. Checo was never told to move over. Clearly. Lol. And Leclerc pitted because of a tear off overheating his brakes.
Zandvoort, its going to be a orange fog and Max will be the only car to emerge from the cloud of smoke, will do a 720* and cross the line to take all the points

At this point, there is probably pretty much nothing interesting that can happen as we go towards the end of the year. Max will continue to be Max and piss excellence. Will Ferrari, continue to be Ferrari, Question??? Uh, yes, the answer is yes. Since Mercedes didn't come back from the break in good form, there is no one left to challenge for any type of lead.

I see Ferrari gets alot of critisim again, i honestly think they did a Great Job this weekend, they improved a lot, and actually needed the help of leclerc too still look terible. The straegy is still bad si dont get me wrong, but for this race i was i was suprised they didnt put leclerc on wet or inters at the second stop, just too prove they still are Ferrari. So good Job Ferrari ;)
Ferrari not knowing strategy and Mercedes having upgrades that, the upgrades they do nothing, is certainly an interesting twist in Formula 1 this year. Also how did a Williams, an Aston Martin and an Alpha Tauri end up in the top 10? Like who forget to tell Alex Albon his car is moving chicane?

I really like Colton Herta, but why his is he the "go to" for someone looking for a American driver? If I ran an F1 and wanted an American from Indycar, I'd go for Josef Newgarden. He's an amazing driver; he's won two titles and is in the hunt for a third, meaning Super License points probably wouldn't be a problem. I'm very much anti-Penske but even I admit Newgarden is a helluva driver.

I hoped this video would be funny. It somehow was, with a few funny quips like the Latifi and airplanes comparison. But the best jokes are grounded in truth, and basing jokes off incorrect information or lack of research just takes the fun out of it and ruins the video for me.
- Ferrari didn't "decide" to pit Charles during the safety car. He had something stuck in his brake duct and pretty much had to, unless Ferrari wanted another DNF.
- There were no team orders for Sergio to let Max past. Max overtook him on sheer pace on the straigth. I actually went back to rewatch the overtake just to confirm this. He got a slipstream with DRS.
You can do better. The concept is there, the accuracy just has to improve.

Rumour has it that Max finished the race at Spa, drove to Zandvoort and chucked in the fastest lap at the same point that Charles was speeding down the pit lane...
That McLaren is just about the worst car in the field. Lando got nowhere, DR got trolled with team strategy again. If DR can't get to Alpine then even the Williams is looking like a better choice than the McLaren, at least it has straight line speed, the McShitbox has no speed, no cornering, no braking.
Remember how Mark Webber convinced Piastri that McLaren was a better option than Alpine?

I actually thought the first half of the race was pretty exciting. Lots of great overtaking up and down the field. At the halfway point the race was pretty well decided, but overall it was a fun one to watch. Also, the directing was not terrible which is certainly something.

In the latter part of the video you sounded salty that Verstappen won today. It is unfair to call this race boring, as a P14-P1 drive is extremely fun to watch, one of the best drives of the Dutchman's career. Sure this was not the best race of the season but it was not bad by any means.
He's English the only smile they get from Max is when he crashes out. English Media and being a rival to their God is making sure of that. Oh well not very different the other way around when you watch Dutch media. So i had a laugh yesterday when Ham was told max was 1.8 seconds faster. And ofcourse what Alonso said about him being only good while being in front.
The P14 to P1 drive was incredible, but everything after that was pretty boring. I guess it's just that we've been spoilt in 2021 and early half of 2022, but after the first pit stops the midfield battle was pretty much the only exciting thing about the race.
@@yannickvaz694 I agree the race was not full of action down the stretch but my point is that Will seems to be more upset that Max won than anything else about the race. Claiming that an amazing race was "robbed form us" because Lewis and Charles were not winning the race shows his bias.
@@nathanreynolds6459 We were definitely robbed of a great race. With half the grid starting at the back, this race had potential to be like Monza 2020 (after the red flag), Hungary 2021 (after Bottas' bowling excursion), or Sochi 2021. A very mixed up grid with Sainz, Perez and Hamilton looking possible for a win, while Vettel and Alonso looked like they could score a podium. The reason he (and me as well) feel the race was boring isn't because Max won, but because he won by a comfortable margin while leading for more than half the race.
Same thing used to happen with Hamilton's dominance, where his wins in 2021 (like Brazil for instance) were much better to watch than most of his wins since 2017. If I'm not mistaken, he's even made Comedy Reviews against Hamilton and Mercedes when he won races like Max did at Spa. It isn't bias, it's just that we had the ingredients for an incredible race, but it turned out to be "okay at best". Max didn't do anything wrong (infact, he was pretty much flawless), but that's exactly why it wasn't as interesting after lap 12 or 13. If there was a battle between multiple drivers and Max finally got the lead (and eventually won the race) after lap 38 or 40, it would have been much more entertaining to watch.
To Ferraris defense leclerc said he had something on the front right tire and not knowing what it is they pitted him!
