2 years late, but Although I do prefer 2D KOF, it's just the execution that makes the difference and you might as well find yourselves not loving, but at least liking the 3D era in some way. I think once they get talent capable enough to develop great 3D art style and animation for future projects we might get a KOF at the level of SF6, look at the new FATAL Fury:CotW Transitions are hard, take into account KOF is one franchise that took the longest to 3D, Nintendo, SEGA, etc. did their transitions to 3D and they were mostly average back in 2000
Orochi in KoF 97 and Saiki are some of the easiest bosses to beat. I've also noticed that Saiki can't stop you from beating him once you corner him and unleash your player on him.
