I unfortunately don’t, but the good news is that it’s super easy! Just think of the SPD-SX the same way as a microphone, you just need an audio interface. So you’d go jack cable from the SPD-SX -> Audio Interface (using an ‘instrument’ input) -> Logic. If your audio interface doesn’t have an instrument input, then you may need a D.I box or you could risk it with a Jack to XLR cable. Just don’t send phantom power down it!
This is fantastic! In your role as a function drummer, have you cut up any backing tracks on to the SPD-SX or samples on to the system that you can play along with your acoustic drumkit? I am considering getting this for my band. Thank you for your video. This is great!
Thank you so much!! I have, I use it all the time for exactly that! For samples, I make them on Logic/Ableton and export them to the SPD-SX (like the video!), and the same for longer song backing tracks. All triggered from the SPD! It also has an audio editing function built in, but this is for simple things like trimming the samples, etc.
Hey dude, thanks for your videos, I found them very helpful. Just a question, is there a way to switch from electronic to acoustic sound only muting and unmuting the kick or snare trigger in real time? No external pads.
Thanks so much Matteo! Absolutely! You can do this a couple ways - You can either manually mute and unmute, or you can play to click and programme the pad to mute and unmute
Do you have a video of how to record the spd sx audio into logic? I’ve only been seeing how to use it as a midi. Thanks for this video!
