If you plan on storing that engine take the injectors out and put some oil into the cylinders and plug all open spots on the engine so you don't get mouse 🐁 getting in and peeing in it that will destroy that good engine the oil in the cylinders will keep it from locking up if your in the cold climate you will need to drain out the block there should be drain plugs. That's cool you found a good engine and a rear end in the strap yard 👍 for even trade you can't go wrong with that 👍. I would put gear lube or even oil in that rear end so it doesn't rust the inside and all the gears that's so cool that both are in good shape.

If I had to guess I would say someone collected all these parts for a project or various projects. Then for whatever reason someone else scrapped them. I would love to have both of those items, especially the yanmar to re-power my simplicity 4040 tractor. We can’t get things out of the piles at our local scrapyard like we used to years ago. They got real pissy the last time I even picked up a couple of Honda engines. Deducted 100 pounds off my scrap for them. But within 45 minutes, I had both of them running, and sold that day.
Dang yea a lot of yards are like that, I got these from a more privately owned yard and I’ve done buisness in the part with them, I really wish I had gotten it on video there is soo much cool stuff out there like old tractors, engines, forklifts boomlift that has sitting out there for years, a lot is really far gone but a lot is fixable
@@The_Home_Pros there used to be an old-school scrapyard down by the Missouri Arkansas line. On one side was the scrapyard and on the other side was 20 acres of stuff. The owner thought was too good/old to scrap. I always wanted to go down there with an empty trailer and a pocket full of cash. Never made it though and if I remember right it all got “cleaned out”.
Generator head making full power just above idle. Running on 50/50 veg preheated fuel with a glow in the line on a pop switch oh yeah.
Sounds good
Nice find😊
Thanks 👍
Why was it in the scrap yard? No real magic getting it going…amazing find!
I guess they were cleaning up a property or somthing??
@@The_Home_Pros well, what ever the reason, you get the prize! Job well done.
Strange that the Steiner has the radiator facing the rear?
The fan pulls air in from the front
i live in a smaller city, but direct on the Coastline. So,i have found 2 old Boats, with working Engines.LATER,you found me far out on the Ocean if all Hell breaks out. my Suvival Empire. With Wood and a Woodgasgenerator can i drive both Engines(so i need Diesel,or WOOD ;-) lots of fish arround me make the living much easyer.
That’s the life 😊
right, thats life. here is it relativly easy to pick up old Boats. and there are somany right along the Coastline, som have sunk over the last years, but no one cares.ALL FOR FREE. The Coastguards here have a Card som mark all known sunken small Boats and there are happy to give it to me. And lift them is not the bi g Problem at all, solong you can put Airballons in and lift them little bit,can your drag them to a better place and work on it. alone her are over 200 know small Boats with Dieselengine or Outboard Engine. it,s a hidden Goldmine down there. @@The_Home_Pros
Me and you think very much alike 👍😊
Great job and find there mate.
Thank u
Great find and great video
Hard to believe your good luck find a good running engine in the scrap yard.
I know rite!
An old John Wayne movie "Chisum" Pat Garrett tells William Bonney, he has the Patients of an oyster, I believe the same could be said about you
😊
What kind of fuel line is that?
I get it on eBay I’m not exactly sure the seller doesn’t say but I’m guessing it’s a tygon line
Nice score!
Thanks!

@@The_Home_Pros let's do it!😅👍
my hero
Hahahahaha😂
Another famous face showing up! Love both your channels
it dont need no muffler! run it as is!
Excellent save
Glad you like it
Do you happen to know what brand that fuel line is you purchased from eBay?
Filled it from the top? Rut row.
What’s wrong with doing it that way
@@The_Home_Pros Hydrolock the engine. Bend valves and push rods.
@@nattydreadlocks1973 I filled it from the oil fill port on the top, that’s were your supposed to fill it! Oil doesn’t just drain into the pistons goofy, that’s why you have valve seals, and there are drain holes in the head so the oil goes straight into the sump. The only way I could hydro lock it is if I filled it with oil through the spark plug holes! Think about it pretty much every car and truck gets filled with oil through the TOP of the engine just like I did with this one
