So many drugstore brands are owned by the same companies, and in turn make really good products. I never understood why people (my mother included) would never buy drugstore stuff. I finally I got her to buy an eyebrow pencil after she tried mine and she’s officially been converted.
I used to always get high end. Now after viewing the dupes of drugstore makeup vs. expensive makeup I will be like a kid in a candy store (drugstore) 😊 (someone else put it this way and I really agree with her😂)
Jen, I rarely comment but wanted to say that I've been subscribed for years and not only are your videos outstanding, you personally have grown more beautiful over the years. Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas!
I don't check in all the time, but anytime I want to buy something I like checking for it on your channel. Right away, the CT blush wand dupes and the contour from Milani and Flower section saved me. I was thinking of trying them, but because I know you and I have similar taste in face products and skintone I knew this wouldn't work for me. Thanks for this! I am far past my makeup binge-shopping era, and now I only get stuff if I really think about it for a while.
Jen... Just one my all time You Tubers. I love that you don't just focus on high end. That you love drug store. I feel your honest with your reviews as well. Also I relate to you as we are real close in age too lol and I can't pull off a lot of make up looks so I tend to stay neutrals but I love your suttle yet also pop of bright color eye shadow looks you will do that is so easy . I have done many of your looks while watching a video of yours lol. Also love you dupe videos. There is a few dupes I have bought in place of shadows that just to much for me to spend lol
I want to share how much I appreciate your drugstore videos. Though I have olive skin, I can always count on your product honesty and I love that you are unsponsored.
I've been out of beauty TH-cam for a few years and just came back. I've been subbed to you for a while but now you are all I watch! I'm going through a rough time and I have to tell you, you really have a light in your soul that comes from within and touches everything about you. Watching you makes me feel happy 😊
Thank you for the tip about the purple toned blush for cool under toned skin types. I have de-cluttered so many blush, lip products, and bronzers for turning orangey on my skin.
Hi Jen, thank you for all the hard work in2023. I really appreciate all of your suggestions. I really like your vlogmas every year, it’s really cute. I love the little elf. I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and safe New Year.🎄🎄🎄
Thank you Jen for all your Christmas posts! I love makeup and live on a fixed income so I gravitate toward drugstore brands! Once in a while I splurge, like when Ulta has their big sales a few times a year. I also subscribe to Ipsy. I lost my youngest son l suddenly last month and your videos have been a wonderful diversion from the worse pain any mother could ever endure! There are no words to express my gratitude to you! Wishing you and your beautiful family the best Christmas ever filled with joy and love!❤️🙏🏻🎄
@@JenPhelps I will try Jen! This is the first Christmas without my son! His birthday was December 26. He would’ve been 45 yrs old! Thank you for brightening my day, I look forward to your videos! Remembering you in my daily prayers!🙏🏻
One of my favs this year was that goldy Casis shade of the essence blush too! You’re the only one I heard talk about that color because I feel like almost everyone goes for warmer blushes! I always love your blush color recommendations because they always work well for me too!
Phytosurgence is my fave for blush, highlight, and bronzer. Such a unique formula for all 3, but wow are they fantastic! They also have tons of shades for all skin tones.
That Persona blush in Jam was probably my favorite blush purchase of the year. It's SO BEAUTIFUL and that tone is unique. I adore it! It's UBER pigmented so I have to be really careful - you aren't kidding about that - but it's just such a stunning blush. 100% agree!!!
Thank you so much for this useful video, Jen! 💜 This year I also used and bought more blushes than bronzers or highlights. My fav blush of 2023 is the new liquid Essence blush from their X-mas collection, it is called "Merry X-mas my deer" and oh, Jen, you HAVE to try it!!! 🤩
Jen are you going to do a powder blush declutter? A while back you did a cream blush declutter. I really enjoyed that. I liked when you swatched your blushes and did mini reviews on them.
My favourite blush this year was Fwee, its Korean and I bought it on Olive Young. Its a soft, jelly blush with a mellow texture that applies with high-color that does not get in the way of the base. For a jelly blush it's super impressive
Hi Jen I’m extremely cool toned and also loving the purple blushes being released. This year the glossier cloud paint in wisp - turns an ultra flattering rose shade on me The made by Mitchell blursh in Dairy Queen- it’s bright purple in the component but it’s a lilac shade on my cheeks (I am super pale so lilac is surprisingly fabulous). It also mixes well with other liquid blushes which need a bit more cool undertone to look good I tried RMS living luminizer this year (far from a new to market product but new to me) and I love it for my super dry fifties skin - a glow without shimmer Best wishes x
Hi Jen, I just bought a blush palette by Fawn Beauty, I had never heard of them before but they have a beautiful blush palette. The 4 colors are so pretty and the quality is really nice, it goes on so smooth and just looks beautiful on your skin.
Really love these videos! Even though I remember the original videos where you first mentioned these products, I enjoy the reminders of why you liked them so much! Always enjoy your videos💕💕💕.
Hi Jen, I almost got the ELF wands and I am so glad I did not because of your reviews. Those were beautiful blush colors and so I will have to check out a few. Thank you so much Jen for a great and helpful video. Love your Vlogmas!💗💕❤🌺🌹🌲💐
Thank you, Jen! Your videos are all I need to watch to know what to get and what not to get. Appreciate the hair care reviews as well! Happy holidays! 💝
Jen, I am the same skin tone as you and have the same issue with everything turning warm on my face. You helped me figure out that I need to go for purple undertones. Even in my lipstick - I’ve never found a lipstick I like, because they always turn red on my lips. I can dab a little of the persona stick blush in the color jam on my lips with a little gloss over it, and it’s the prettiest pink. Hope you are enjoying the holiday season. Love vlogmas!
Hey Jen! My favorite blush discovery this year has been the LYS cream in SelfLove. Perfect mauvy tone, and it seems to last really well. Probably not a 2023 release, but I'm always late to the party! One thing that interests me is the Juvia's Place liquid/cream blush in the coral-ish tone - but not as a blush. I've been using a Wet N Wild matte lip liquid in a coral tone as a color corrector in my inner corners of my eyes - it's the perfect tone to counteract the blue-grey that lives there, and it has a nice finish that blends with the Elf Hydrating Camo concealer so I get just enough emollience but not goop from mixing both products together. Unfortunately, the WNW liquid lip matte has been discontinued, so I'm going to take a chance on that Juvia's Place product. Thank you so much for this video - I'm loving your yearend series!
Oh this was so fun! So many beautiful products. I think if I could, I'd get the made by mitchell just so I could say blursh. Your lip color is beautiful! Thank you so very much for being here with us !
Hi Jen, thank you for doing this wonderful video, I appreciate all that you do in reviewing products to really informs us on what’s good/ bad / and the just don’t waste your money products. My favourite blushes this year were from rare beauty, and one size ( pigmented / bold effect) , I’m also interested in the benefit blushes ( butterfly) . Love Katherine xoxo
Hi Jen, thank you for all of your hard work all year, and especially during vlogmas! I’ve been loving the video every weekday, from your lovely intro and music to the great topics. For today, what were your favorite contours of the year? I know you talked about your least favorite contours, but I either missed the best or got too caught up in all the beautiful blushes! lol 😂Thanks and have a Merry Christmas 🎄!
Thank you so much for your videos, Jen! I love that you are such a lover of drugstore makeup! Your recommendations are always THE BEST! 😍 Also, WHAT IS ON YOUR EYES?!?! Your eye look is STUNNING! 🤩😍♥
I’ve never tried a Pat McGrath blush or bronzer, time for me to try that bronzer you showed. Love your curled hair like that, wish I could do mine like that, I’m so clumsy with a curling iron/wand.❤❤
...I also love the Juvias Place blushes, although I find it difficult to find the tiniest possible amount 😂. Same for the L'Oreal ones. I have to try the Florence by Mills ones! Once more, your videos are just gems. Informative and entertaining, and I just love the intro.
I couldn’t agree more w/the Elf cream blushes & bronzers. So bad. I was very disappointed. I do love the Maybelline Infallible blushes & the Liquid Juvia’s place. Thank you so much for yr other recommendations! I have already saved this video! Yr so awesome! I agree w/all yr fails. I gotta pick up some of yr favorites! Have a wonderful Holiday & Happy New Year Jen! 🎉❤
Thanks Jen for all the great information. One of my most used bronzers besides the Jones Roads is the liquid bronzer by Moira, I just love that for my no make up make up days . I have been deciding whether to get the Juvias place blush and you made up my mind. the Rosey posey willl be it! Merry Christmas!!
I have the exact same problem with pink blushes pulling more warm or peach on me. I usually end up purchasing the berry shades which are meant for darker skin tones and since I'm fair I have to use a very light hand. I do love the Essence Goldy Cassis and I'll be on thr lookout for a more purple matte blush.
So many blushes especially... This was the year of blush and gloss, in my opinion. I love the Moira liquid blush, Hard Candy's liquid bronzer in the tube, and the Essence powder foundation. Three products I actually expect to use up within the next 12 months.
What is on your eyes!? So beautiful! I know you seem to really enhoys liquid highligher but this year I tried gxve check my glow highlighter in platinum cowgirl and man is it beautiful! No chunks of glitter. Not too extreme but it has become my new favorite!
Hi Jenn, my new favorite blush is Westmann Atelier stick blush. It's perfect for me. It goes on easily and is neither thin and streaky or thick and hard to blend. It blends into my skin like magic and is still there hours later to my surprise. I think it looks about as natural as any I've ever used. It isn't drug store though and is more than I normally spend.
The Revolution bronzer is nice. I used it most of the year. My go-to contour is ABH Contour in Fawn. I ordered the Rare Beauty bronzer stick (should arrive today) and the Trixie Cosmetics powder bronzer when I ordered the Solid Pink Disco collection. I was waiting until Winter Break to open it. May break into it today.
I really do love bronzing sticks. I tried to get 1 of the Rare beauty ones way back when they came out but they were always out of stock. Guess I need to now try again. ❤lol
Did you see that elf is releasing liquid blushes? I saw it on trend mood yesterday on my break at work and my jaw dropped. Theres been so many drugstore releases lately thay have me excited.
Thank you Jen. I love all your vlogmas videos. They are so fun. I appreciate your hard work. I am making a list of the favorites to choose some new make up. Thank you again. Merry Christmas.
I don’t own the PF Butter Glow liquid highlighter but the swatch you showed reminded me of a liquid version of the Laura Mercier matte radiance baked powder highlighter. My absolute favorite blush I got this year is the Mac powder blush in the shade Melba! The tone is absolutely perfect and I don’t think any other blush formula I’ve tried has lasted longer on me. Hope you are enjoying this holiday season! ♥️
14:54 When you were showing the clip where you previously demoed the L'Oreal blush, you were actually using the Too Faced Crush Cloud blush. There was a picture of it in the top right hand corner of the clip.
I came to the comments specifically to see if anyone committed that. Specifically bc that exact blush is the one I'm waiting on buying (but in the color cloud crush ) & was SO hoping she was going to mention it when she showed the clip. The $30 price has slowed my purchase but another creator , Emily, wore it & its beautiful.
No in that video I was saying that the Loreal reminded me of the TF Cloud Crush because it gives a blurring effect on the skin. The Cloud Crush are beautiful also!!
It was interesting to hear your opinion on the the Elf wands and they lift foundation because everyone says they're a dupe to CT. I would love to see a video of the best drugstore cream Blushes, Highlighters and Bronzer sticks. I don't know if you can get Studio London in America or not because it's a brand by Superdrug in the UK and although you can only get 2 shades with their cream blush, cream blush sticks and bronzer sticks but I would like to see what you think of them and could they compare to Rare Beauty's
Thanks for the video Jen. I just bought the elf bronzer palette because it looked like a nice 4 pan of cooler toned powder bronzer and it's great! Just wanted to share that happy discovery.
Thanks for all of your hard work. I'm not a big drugstore fan but a few eye and lip liners/products have been pretty good. The Flower Beauty Concealer is also good.Happy Holidays to you and your family and thanks again for all of the content you provide.🎉🎉
I love your videos!! You show us how and what to buy to look our best at an affordable price! Thank you. I hope you and your family has a merry christmas! And God Bless you all! ❤❤❤
Hi Jen, Have you ever tried the Almay Healthy Hue powder blushes? They are talc-free & fragrance-free and I think you'd like them. Have a merry Christmas!
The Patrick Ta blush duos are my favorites. If I had to keep one blush formula, it would be those. They last well on my skin, blend easily, awesome shades, and you get a cream and powder. Another blush I've been using lately are the Joah air light soft powders. Again, great shade range, effortless to use, and they last well. The Nyx Wonder Stick has been a pretty decent cream bronzer that is also easy to work with and lasts well on me. Another bronzer stick I like is the Uoma sculpt and strobe duo stick. But since it is a longer lasting formula, it is difficult to blend. A trick I find that helps is applying the stick to the back of my hand to warm it up, picking the product up from my hand with a dense, small contour brush (I use bdellium tools 945), and then stippling it onto the face until I'm satisfied with the blend, working quickly. This trick also works with any hard-to-blend product for the most part. Sometimes it just needs to warm up to body temperature first before being applied to the face.
The Saie cream bronzer in fair is my holy grail. Must admit it's a tad too greasy, but the color and wear time are outstanding. I also have the Rare Beauty stick bronzer but found it too orangey. Love the Gucci bronzer. Makeup by Mario in Desert Rose is a great all over face color. The Essence blushes were kind of a miss with me. Which blush duo is better? Give or Haus Labs? I'll try the purple blushes because I have the same problem with blushes going peach/orangey/warm.
Jen you look beautiful and really like the way your hair is curled! ❤ Great picks, I can relate to a lot your top choices. Merry Christmas to you & your family 😘
Hi, Jen! My ELF order came today, with the Lash Extender mascara. Got one for me and one for my mum. She has already tried it, and it looks amazing on her. As for me? I LOVE IT! It makes my long, curly lashes look REALLY obscene! I'll have to send you a picture on the Gram. It's really amazing. I tried one of the ELF lip oils. I'm guessing there must be something in them that you're allergic to. It didn't bother me at all. As for blushes, I really like my Mary Kay blushes, and I have an Ofra blush palette that's incredible! The blushes are very finely milled, and for a powder, a little bit goes a long way. At the risk of being repetitious, my favourite hilighter is an Ofra hilighter and my favourite bronzer is an Ofra dual bronzer. Not sure what it is about Ofra, but it's very flattering to my porcelain skin.(btw, you have alabaster skin, but we're both as white as can be, lol!) I don't know about you, but I have to use a very light hand with bronzer, or else I'll look like I fell into a mud puddle! Do you have that issue?
Merry Christmas! I got it from Stitch Fix but it looks like it's available here: bellegboutique.com/products/fairisle-raglan-sweater?variant=45403778613494¤cy=USD&srsltid=AfmBOoqw0ATVnEy8AUc1IVy4LpiiFTBXERY1euh1XA3rojjJjidx1D41c64
I really want to try Goldie Cassis. It's reminding me of something I can't quite place. It's not like Elf Mellow Mauve (which I thought) or like NYX Raisin (which was matte but omg so pretty, they tried to redo their blushes and had a similar one in Fig in both Shimmer and Matte but it wasn't quite the same). Raisin is still my favorite and I can't find a dupe, but one DollFace trio had a stunning deeper mauve. That one kinda reminds me of the L'Oreal but less pink.
I've always been a high-end girl but because of you I've gone drugstore!
Same!!! She gave me a whole new world of make up to try, I’m like a kid in a candy store at the drugstore now! Lol
So many drugstore brands are owned by the same companies, and in turn make really good products. I never understood why people (my mother included) would never buy drugstore stuff. I finally I got her to buy an eyebrow pencil after she tried mine and she’s officially been converted.
Wow good for you!! As much as I love high-end. The drugstore still has a lot to offer!!
Drugstore has been killing it recently.
I used to always get high end. Now after viewing the dupes of drugstore makeup vs. expensive makeup I will be like a kid in a candy store (drugstore) 😊 (someone else put it this way and I really agree with her😂)

You're right Jen.
That Essence baked blush is a STAR for cool toned color.

It blends into my skin like magic and is still there hours later to my surprise. I think it looks about as natural as any I've ever used. It isn't drug store though and is more than I normally spend.
Love them too!
Thanks so much for sharing your favorites from the year!! I learned a lot of good tips! :)
Yes! And also those click pen lipsticks like the Tarte Maracuja ones!
Thank you Jen. I love all your vlogmas videos. They are so fun. I appreciate your hard work. I am making a list of the favorites to choose some new make up. Thank you again. Merry Christmas.
Great video as always 😍
@@JenPhelps Ah, ok, thanks for the clarification!
Love your hair today!
I'll have to try the malani
Thank you for all this info
Thanks for the video Jen. I just bought the elf bronzer palette because it looked like a nice 4 pan of cooler toned powder bronzer and it's great! Just wanted to share that happy discovery.
Thanks for all of your hard work. I'm not a big drugstore fan but a few eye and lip liners/products have been pretty good. The Flower Beauty Concealer is also good.Happy Holidays to you and your family and thanks again for all of the content you provide.🎉🎉
Tom Ford has a duel highlighter in a really nice powder form I love it not to intence❤
Id love to know where the sweater is from! Very pretty!
Your eyeshadow looks beautiful! What did you use?
Thank you! 🥰 Colourpop Rock Candy!
Yes! Those are one of my favorite blushes at the drugstore! Very underrated!
What a cool looking town, it looks like a lot of history there.
Great picks, I can relate to a lot your top choices.
Merry Christmas to you & your family 😘
Aw thank you! Merry Christmas to you too! :)
I have to use powder before using cream blushes, they go on better and stay.
You’re so pretty in pink, Jen. What eyeshadow palette are you using?
Thanks! It's Rock Candy from Colourpop. 🥰
Is your sweater available anywhere ? I absolutely love it.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the cream bronzer from colourpop, Isle bet. I bought it from your recommendation and I love it!!!!
Was that from 2022? I feel like that released longer ago but I could be wrong! :) I still love that one.
Lots of great ideas for new blushes!
What is on your eyes?? It looks so beautiful 😍
