I've driven my (performance blue) i30n almost daily for the last year, and it STILL puts a smile on my face. You can change the car's feel and response drastically (depending on your mood) with a push of a button, so it's VERY hard to get bored with this tactile beast.... In my opinion, it's still the best value for money hot hatch out there.
Agree, although I did sell mine for a more practical car. (Mountain bikes need transporting) the i30n always put a smile on my face every drive. Admittedly not the best car I've owned, but definitely the most fun... Except at the bowser (partly my fault)
3:25 ... I understand why there's so many review sources for new cars and so few for used ones... so much more detail and info to cover/go over and mention. New car is easy; at best you cover depreciation and "expected reliability" that's it. I'm an ex I30N owner, and the ONLY issues I had with it, were the stereo isn't that great, but you can turn that off completely and just enjoy the noise! Only other issue was I have a habit of resting my elbow on the drivers door arm rest, and after a very short period of time, an indent formed where my elbow would go, and it wouldn't return to it's original shape. Other than that, probably a top 3 best car of all the cars I've owned, and to be honest, I'm now wishing it was still parked on my driveway.
I had the same problem with my standard i30 Premium, which is a high spec version of the standard model in the British market. Mine also has elbow indentations on both front door panels, clearly poor quality interior materials used.
I have a related car in France the Kia Cee'd with 7sp DSG. From the same factory as the i30N. It has the same body shell as the i30N. Issues that cross over to the i30N include the satnav which failed just out of it's 3 year warranty. So we drive with a blank screen which is annoying and we lost the rear camera. Cost of replacement is too high. The windscreen pillars are wide and it takes some care to see around them at intersections and roundabouts. No other issues. I am thinking of an i30N when I return to Oz in June. If the hatch is still available? I don't mind that it is at the end of it's model life. The last ones may be the best.
Such a good honest review, glad you reached out to owners/enthusiasts as well! 104,000kms on my 2020 i30N and I still absolutely love driving it every single day!
@@a.s.9402 Your lucky to get 500kms out of the 50 liter tank n the weird part is it seems to use more fuel in the ECO or Normal driving modes. I average 10 liters to 100kms in N mode driving moderately with a bit of a boost rush here n there.
If anyone is looking at an i30n, maybe try a new i20n! They're about 36-37k new and are packed with wrc goodies just like the gr Yaris. Top gear even gave it car of the year. With the market the way it currently is I also see them holding value well. Either way you can't go wrong whatever you decide!
It's arguably the better driver's car due to its very marginally shorter wheelbase and whopping 315KG diet. However if you have to move stuff around with any regularity, I would recommend a buyer think twice due to significantly less boot space.
Why do you think the i20N will hold value better? I am about to test drive the i30N but it is above budget but I wouldn't mind splashing out or considering other hot hatch.
Top tip with tyres. When the factory Pirelliss need to be replaced. Don't fit the Pirelli's again. Move to Michilin PS4s. Better dry grip, 1000x times better wet and cold grip, and will easily last 45k with spirited driving, where as the Pirelli's offer nothing after 5k, bald by 15k, and feel like slicks on grass in cold and wet weather.
This tier’s are high performance in a performance car when it’s wet and cold need to drive carefully to warm up the tires and then push anything you want it’s for any tires
I bought a new Fastback N last year and it’s such a fun car to drive. I drove all the competitors before purchase and kept coming back to the N. No regrets at all.
Just bought a new i30N with the 8 speed DCT a few months ago. What a car!! It should be illegal (and sometimes it is) to have this much fun in a car. When you said it’s fun just doing normal driving you were spot on and those exhaust sounds always puts a smile on my face. If I was to have 1 criticism is that the sound system is ordinary but it’s a minor quibble. Hopefully mine will be as reliable as other i30Ns seem to be.
i bought an i30N performance after extensive research, and after the video i saw on your channel, i was almost sure, and yes i admit i already love the car! Your channel is great and very informative! The car is definitely 100% worth it!
I am currently looking at purchasing a new i30N, your review was very helpful, I am sold on these amazing cars having previously been purely attracted by the euro sport cars. Value for money and fun factor are high on my agenda for purchasing this amazing car. Thank you for your amazing review, I was impressed with the reliability of this car and am looking forward to owning one soon.
This review has made me feel very reassured that I have purchased the right car! Taking delivery in next couple weeks - very excited. Thanks for the comprehensive (yet concise!) review as always
Speaking as a first gen ex owner interior is functional and perfect. Seats not so great for long drives if you are tall. Infotainment was better than the same age Audi S3, I owned one after my Hyundai and regret selling mt Hyundai. High pressure fuel pump failures where common in earlier cars like mine and 6th bear sometimes stiff when car was cold but Hyundai sort of recall fixed it but you ad to report it. Hyundai Pirelli P Zero tyres last 7000 miles ish if driven moderately hard. The car makes a standard Golf GTI look like a much older car and is so much better to drive. Wheel hop is a major problem as the car tries to put down the power but you can fit coil overs and better tyres. Ride is quite firm in all settings. Road noise a bit loud at higher speeds. Exhaust on 2017 car epic. ALWAYS use Shell oil and genuine parts and every 5 years expect all fluids to need changing. Don't bother tuning unless its for track use a lot. Forge motorsport parts do bugger all to improve the car so don't waste your money.
I own the MY20 model N Luxury pack, and I can tell you with certainty that it does not have Adaptive Cruise Control, I have put 24,000Kms on it so far and love driving it everyday. When I first purchased it I done a trip to Melbourne from NSW, and my first day driving around Melbourne I had a FPV Turbo falcon wanting to race me, so the next set of lights we went for it and I left him for a good 3-4 car lengths, funny how he did not want to come near me at the next set of lights I was absolutely LMAO. Then a few days later I had a Commodore SSV 6.0 litre wagon try to give me a go and same thing left him behind me for the first 3 gears, then I slowed down as I knew there was a speed camera ahead under a overpass, the tripper in the SS just kept going I swear he must have been doing around 170-190kms when he went past the Speed Camera poor bugger that would have been a nice fine coming his way not to mention the suspension of his license for a good 3 months or more. I must admit I had a few bugs with mine from brand new but 99% of them were fixed under warranty. The only problem I still have is that the rev matching does not always work when going down from 2nd to 1st no biggie I just bleep the throttle anyway even with rev match on in the lower gears. Must admit with N mode on if you drive on a crappy road your kidney's will let you know as well as your back if you suffer from back pain as I do. All in all its beaut little zippy as street car, if you want to look after the engine make sure to do an oil + filter change every 5,000kms instead of the 10,000 your supposed to do. I had a VL turbo prior to buying the N and changed oil every 5 thousand and never had a problem, even after 260,000kms the turbo had no play what so ever.
I drove one of these and we gave it 💯 out of 💯. It felt to me like a old school 90s Honda type r in a way, it’s just feels new but also old 90s feel. Simple and direct. I had way more fun in this than the golf r. The golf r is good, but this is purely fun. The golf r is fast. That’s it
Still really loving your channel and so glad this review was positive as I own a 2018 model, only issue I've faced is faulty petrol door not closing , it took a whole day for hyundai to fix as they had to take the interior out from the boot to replace 1 spring, works now but still feels like a week spot on the car,. Replaced original p zeros after 29000kms with ps4s feels way better. I love my car, and your right about it feeling special all of the time, mint review love you work.
Owned a fastback for 2 years. Had a weird issue with the programmable electric seat selector which malfunctions from time to time. Biggest negatives on the car 1) Soft paint which gets chipped easily. 2) turning circle is abysmal and means doing multi point turns in supermarkets. 3) reversing camera gets covered with road grime making reversing in those supermarkets extremely difficult with the very limited view. One of the big advantages of the Fast Back model is the enormous boot, easily fits 3 suitcases and more. It’s a missile when I want to play on the back roads and I can easily get carried away as it is so competent and fantastic fun.
I can't really comment on point 1, but I can definitely confirm point 2. I tried driving my 2021 i30 N in the supermarket and found it very difficult to get past the fresh produce and into the meats section. Going down the aisles was a nightmare! These big supermarket chains really just haven't set up their stores to allow cars to drive in them, which is very disappointing. I don't think the staff and other customers minded me driving around in there, but I couldn't really hear them over the pops and bangs from the exhaust. As for point 3, I think a bit of watermelon juice may have become smeared over my reversing camera, which made it a bit tricky to reverse through the dairy section. I had to look in my rear view mirrors, and as someone who likes to go fast in my N, I just hate looking back. Otherwise, no complaints. Great car!
@@coreyu98 I sold it last year when my wife became ill. It was a great car with limitations. Todays road conditions make it difficult to ever enjoy it to the full. I’ve got a big, boring, C5 now and I can’t say I’m missing the Hyundai. C5 is lazy driving, very comfortable and can be driven onto verges without me worrying over damaging the wheels or spoiler. Less stressful overall, but clearly not ‘fun’.
I've had mine for 2 years, ~30,000km. It still brings a smile to my face everytime I drive it. The steering, suspension and gearbox are so crisp, it is a delight. There is a rattle in the dash front right. Also, the axle tramp in the wet is terrifying. Apparently there are aftermarket solutions for that though. Minor issues, for a fantastic car.
Damm you're lucky. Mine is almost made of new parts in two years and 20000km. 1. Wind noise from sunroof. Dealer tried to adjust but eventually changed the entire assembly. Problem still persisted albeit on higher speed. 2. Roof lining started rattling. Got replaced. 3. Noise from the front suspension when steering. Everything that was attached to the suspension got replaced. Rattling still there but less. 4. Roof rattling again, this time they used more adhesive. Finally solved. 5. Windnoise from sunroof got louder again. They tried to adjust and eventually replaced all seals after i asked them to try that instead of ordering another sunroof. 6. Noises from the front suspension again...seems they have found the culprit this time and will change the entire e-LSD assembly when they get the parts. 7. I also have rattling from the clutch when i am in neutral and let the pedal go. Noise goes away when i step on the pedal. I smelled clutch when i maneuvered onto a lift to get my wheels changed.....yet another problem.
@@Enforcer_WJDE You nearly out done me I had a total of 13 problems with mine in the first 6 months of owning it MY20 model. 99% of the problems got sorted out under warranty, only real problem left is the rev matching does not always work when shifting from 2nd to 1st gear, but I just bleep the throttle just in case now. I must say that some Hyundai dealers are real Aholes when it comes to fixing problems, which is the reason I would never buy one again. Love the car now most problems are fixed as for the Repair centers another story.
@@fullboostturbo1 Yeah i had the same problem too with dealers but it's not really their fault since Hyundai is calling the shots. I bought a EU model meaning not a German one but one from Austria. I read about Hyundai Germany denying EU model owners the 5 years warranty to protect their car dealers. But this is illegal from what i gathered. They tried to pull this one on me too but i got in touch with the Austrian Importer who then told me i had the same warranty as a German buyer. After that i got my car problems done under warranty even after the 2 year mark which was this July since my car is a 07/2019
@@Enforcer_WJDE My Build date is 10/2019 and the main reason for buying in December 2019 was it came with the extended warranty of 7 years which was only available for 2019 if you got delivery of the vehicle before the 1/1/2020, I picked mine up on the 31/12/2019 last day of deadline for 7 year warranty. I managed to get a half decent price too, as I paid $44,500 AUD for the Luxury pack. I simply told the dealer I am offering $44,500 take it or I walk, to my delight they agreed. I even got the right hand front guard aligned correctly under warranty as they all stick out about 4-5mm from the drivers door. Then about 6 months later I had a Kangaroo jump out in front of me at 100kms an hour in the rain n dark which totaled the front guard and right side of nose cone, I was spewing so bad, but luckily I found a top notch panel beater who I got the insurance company to agree to pay to do the repair work. Can't even tell that it was in an accident the work was so good.
I found the best way to get rid of the Axle Tramp is by inflating the tires to 50psi solved the problem for me. And now my tires are actually wearing evenly.
I bought a used i30N with just under 15K on the clock. Super fun to drive and puts a smile on your face. The ride is hard regardless of what setting you put it in but I didn’t bother me personally. The only negative for me is the interior, it’s not the nicest place to be, hard plastics and quite dull. Over time it developed a few obvious creaks and rattles which can be very annoying to some. Sold mine after a year due to the increased user car market and made a profit 👍 hopefully when the MK 2 is out it will improve on what’s a great foundation
I have a 2022 DCT with 32000kms and it brings a smile to my face overtime I drive it. Eats GTI and ST Focus for breakfast. The really only thing is equilivant is the Golf R and the latest Type R. Buy one
I had a i30 Fastback N for two years, a great car. It did have the annoying loose piece of plastic sun glasses holder around the rear view mirror. Otherwise over 25,000 klms, it was brilliant. Good enough to convince me to buy an Genesis down the track as a replacement for our primary vehicle.
Good show mate the best car review in Australia .. more useful info on how a brand and model are likely to perform over time if you buy one new or used ...and the stuff particularly from Jim is a lot more useful than knowing about how soft door trims are or the size and number of cupholders .👍
10:39 shout out to Jim for showing a little bit of immaturity 🤣 also Adam I don’t think the thing has adaptive cruise control, the only N model to have that feature at the moment in aus is the Kona N. It’s probably for a cooling reason where they need a larger radiator or something and they couldn’t get the sensor to fit behind the Hyundai badge where they’d normally have it.
I've got 2019 fastback i30N and i love it. I would strongly suggest to buy one under warranty if you can beacause some repairs can get quiet pricey. My exhauast valve fell apart a it would cost like 2000€ if it wasn t under warranty. You can tell that buy hearing a rattling noise while reving that car, so watchout for that.
Here's a video idea: a general buyer's guide for used cars? (i.e avoid cars with sunroof, all technical service done at dealer, avoid certain "early" automatic gearbox types ect). What "features" to avoid (& why), which features to only go for only if we really want it (& why they're bad, i.e earlier prototype adaptive dampers), & what features are generally reliable if they're fitted (reversing camera, cruise control and such?) - most of this the regular buyer might know but the reasoning and especially how this tech ages is maybe interesting? I remember, especially back when I was first buying a car, I had spent a lot of time looking into and making a list of what was important (for me) and what I could ignore and what I straight up avoided.
I purchased a 2016 i30 Active CRDI which is one of the best cars I have purchased, the fuel economy is unbelievable on long trips I get 4.6 liters per 100kms pretty much runs on a smelly rag. The reversing camera is super clear day or night, and the sound system pumps so hard it amazed me. So then I bought the N model with Luxury Pack which they say has the premium sound system yeah sure, the standard i30 sound system is almost twice as loud as the N's so called premium system, even the speakers used in the standard model use a Neodymium magnet, where as in the N they use the old style magnets inferior if you ask me. Then the reversing camera in the N is total crap compared to the standard i30. The N was twice the price of the standard i30 yet comes with crappy sound system n reversing camera I was pretty pissed off about this.
Superb idea, and actually one we've been writing for a while. We want to get it exactly right, nailing the balance of genuine info but it has to be entertaining too. - AK
I habe one or better had. Buyed it as a used var. Was absolutely happy, got it foiled, had sole upgrades. Pretty much the best car for bringing emotions. Loved it everyday. There were nearly no Problems. Had one Problem with the window, got it fixed in one day with good help from Hyundai Center, but in the end it got crashed totally. Lost it yesterday. It's just destroyed with no chance to repbuild it. I had tear drops in my eyes because of how much I love this car. Definitely recommend this car to anyone who loves drive experience, good sound, doesn't need the highest interior uprgrades and just loves cars. Performance is great, is pretty fast and even is nice for long drives. Did over 1000km and in the end I felt good.
Good review mate. I absolutely love my N, I've had it for 2years and still puts a smile on my face. Also, just an FYI, but there's a new infotainment update which makes the screen look a little more modern
Yeah the new update made the battery meter on my Galaxy A20 disappear from the screen, now I cannot tell how much battery life I have left without having to look at my phone. Stupid Updates just like with WINDOWS OS the less updates the better.
This channel deserves more subscribers! Concise, professional, good production value, extra info links, etc, etc… In all of TH-cam, there are only ten channels I’ve hit the bell icon for and this is one of them. 👍
The best thing I love about the i30n is the fact they don’t used big named brands that add a premium price to unnecessary things and just use their own brand to keep the cost down that makes this car affordable for a lot of people over the rival cars
I have an update 2021 Premium manual hatch. My only reservations initally were the hard plastics in the cabin as commented on in the vid. After 20000 km yes some of the plastics are hard but no scratches so quality is better than I thought. Any Toyota would have scratches over it by now. Otherwise a simply sensational car in every way
Huge fan of these things! Great fun and look great. My mate bought a performance blue one second hand with 19k on it. Love the colour and the car. He was kind enough to let me drive it on a couple Hyundai N owners day. Had a blast. Great engine, torqueeee and sounds good. The suspension is great, nice gear box, practical, and looks great imo, not too over the top. I'd take it over a GTI and prefer the looks to a type r, but... Everytime I was in it, despite the joy I was feeling, a significant part of me was wishing I was in my 86 instead.
Also just want to say pricing is ridiculous at the moment. He bought it for 31k, with it in mint condition, in 2019. Definitely a great deal based on the prices in this video/currently.
Working on Hyundai's in America we don't have I30 N's but Veloster N's have the same powertrain when the tech mentioned the failure of the high pressure pumps, as they fail they over pressurize the fuel rail and the car will bog down past a certain rpm. I've seen it twice.
This was at the top of my shortlist in 2020, preferably in the blue. It got pipped at the post by the Civic Type R I ended up picking up... but I think I would have been almost as happy in the i30N
This is actually my "affordable" dream car. I want car to serve me, but I do want to have a fun with it as well, however I don't want to spend an absolute fortune for a car.. This seems like great option. I hope I can buy it in a few years.
Ayyyyyyeee, wish the i30 N was available in the US. So much better looking than the Elantra N. Also more practical than the Elantra. And lastly, I love the performance blue.
We finally get them in South Africa with a 7year warranty!!!! I will just look and dream for now, bladdy expensive. Im happy with my Hyundai Creta 1.6D A/T. No issues, previous car was a i20 1.4D manual and drove that 300 000kms all original zero issues until the day i sold it.. i believe you guys in the US had or have issues with the 2.4 petrol engines.. here we get smaller variants, 1.0, 1.2 1.6 and 2.0, also 1.6D 2.0D and 2.2D i dont believe they have issues.. i think ill stick to the korean brands..i cant say anything bad of them cars. 😂😅
under the "what goes wrong" part, you guys should add issues with the DCT. Hyundai had to do a whole bunch of recalls and fixes lately for these. Always better to stick with the manual!
So the I30N we had the manual, gearbox would not take 1st gear , after a year problem got worse, back to dealer for repairs on gearbox. After 65k problem came back. Repairs on gearbox ended fixing it under warranty and sold it. Gearbox had an issue from day 1, perhaps a bad built.
German prices are a bit off, the cheapest ones are about 21-22k€ with 80k+ km. Normal ones with around 20-40k km are about 25k€. The 14k € are mostly fake. Otherwise great car, been driving one for about a year now, no regrets.
Stop raving on about hard plastics. It’s a left-over from Euro testers. We live in Australia, it’s hot and they last. Not sure who drives around scratching their dash, anyway. Otherwise, good review.
Thanks so much for this great review it is very rare that you get such a detailed explanation on cars that are popular with mileage on them and what to look for. I am really interested in the i30nline premium and wondered if you could do a similar review as i was thinking of going dealer ex demo to avoid bastard owners as you call them lol. Liked and subscribed great job
I had an i30n for just over year.. was a brilliant car and managed to get alot of attention for a hyundai Mine experienced some gearbox problems going from 1st to 2nd, it was an intermittent fault where I could not go into 2nd.. but overall it was brilliant car and really fun to drive
Thanks so much for watching and commenting but ReDriven has a bit of a “must be more than 3 years old rule” but in 3 years, we can’t wait to feature the i20 N. - AK
I clicked on this by accident, was looking at reviews on the hyundai veloster n 2019-2022 it's a really good car especially for the price point. I'm going to compare it to this one, nonetheless, I already made up my mind of the veloster n 2022.
Never owned or driven any Hyundai. That said, I rate them very highly and don't think I'd be disappointed buying one. Pretty sure I could even live with the red stripe "defect".
Yeah man it idles with a low growl, and drives very quietly. But once you engage N mode, which is a button on the steering wheel, the growl comes back and it produces the pops and bangs etc. It is like 2 different cars, quite clever and so much fun!
Another good review even if it doesn't float my boat as it were! No, nothing wrong with it it's just too bloody small for me. Roll on to your next review.
That is a good point with the interiors that people need to understand about European cars if they don't get then. You will probably spend a good proportion of your life living inside that space. If you can't understand why they would sacrifice reliability, it's because they don't want to spend their life sitting in depressing grey plastic horribleness. You might be willing to trade a nice interior for reliability, but they'd rather sacrifice some reliability to have a nice place to be inside.
I'm surprised the mechanic didn't address Theta II engine concerns at all - the engine variant loaded into this car. Theta II problems are so ubiquitous in the US that it has pretty much destroyed the brand in this market.
No unfortunately the headlights are different and won’t fit properly unless you use the face lift bumper too. The taillights look the same though and would probably fit, but are very expensive new. Once a few appear in wrecking yards it will be cheaper to upgrade the tail lights.
Great review AK! This is on the short list when I retire the SSV redline, although would be the update N Premium with the dual clutch. Good to know they'll hopefully be reliable down the track with a few thousand ks under the belt. Oh, that performance blue with the red looks like pus. Grey on the other hand..
If this car was in a wagon after watching this review I'd honestly consider trading up to this car if i had the money. And while at work today I had an idea that you guys might like for a video being surprising vehicles you can drive with a regular manual car license. That or best barn find cars from each generation of forza horizon series lol. Good job guys with the video and look forward to next week's line up
@@Thisonegoestoeleven666 cousin has an Octavia i believe and she's doesn't seem to like it and a few others I know have had so so experiences with them. So kinda put me off the Skoda and VW at the moment.
Do you think it is worth getting the 2024 model of this in today's market? 52k plus on roads for dealer demo or about 59k for new referring to N Premium. Or are some of the earlier models better value?
I went out to buy an i30 in 2019. Dealer would not let me go for a test drive and wanted 48500 for the nicer version. Went down the road and got a golf r for $46500 drive away. No brainer.
I just bought a 2019 i30n performance lux pack with 30,000 km and my only negative is the tyres. The previous owner has put on new cheap tyres and it wheel spins in the dry. What would be a good tyre to replace them with.
European cars are less and less relieable in conpare to Asian, specially Koreans. I have driven this car once and am absolutely thrilled. Am thinking of selling my BMW and buying one i30N Perf Facelift Fasback. At least for few years have some fun without expensive repairs which you get with european cars

I would always choose the I30N over the GTI, Megane RS or Focus ST. 5 years warranty on a performance car is pretty sweet as well.
Track safe warranty also.
Pretty sure the 5 years warranty is standard for every model you mentioned.
The Hyundai is sweet, but the Focus takes some beating.

That'd be 284 km per day. I doubt it, considering you have to fuel up every 2 or 3 days. 1.500€ per month for gasoline, approximately
You and me both got same model with only 24,000 on it.
Good shout! Got an i30N and can attest to its brilliance; also huge respect for the i20N!
It's arguably the better driver's car due to its very marginally shorter wheelbase and whopping 315KG diet. However if you have to move stuff around with any regularity, I would recommend a buyer think twice due to significantly less boot space.
Need to put a bike in it every now and then or I'd get one.
I agree with you totally on the Pirelli tyres. I went to Michelin PS4 and find much more grip, and longer lasting
I bought a new Fastback N last year and it’s such a fun car to drive. I drove all the competitors before purchase and kept coming back to the N. No regrets at all.
I did exactly this and preordered the new fastback for the same reason.. The bloody smile it puts on my face is just not comparable
Enjoy!
Great video, straight to the point, I'll be looking around for one of these shortly, time to retire the XR6T as a daily
Thanks so much Glen. - AK
Great car!
Still enjoying the fast back?
@@coreyu98 I sold it last year when my wife became ill. It was a great car with limitations. Todays road conditions make it difficult to ever enjoy it to the full. I’ve got a big, boring, C5 now and I can’t say I’m missing the Hyundai. C5 is lazy driving, very comfortable and can be driven onto verges without me worrying over damaging the wheels or spoiler. Less stressful overall, but clearly not ‘fun’.
Agree about the turning circle. Went wide as I backed into my drive, no harm, but really took me by surprise
@ They appear to have designed it for only going forward - fast 😂
Man love this channel! Good walkthroughs and great details. You guys always put me in the car shopping mood!
Thank so so much mate. - AK
Addicted to this channel. You are keeping an Irish lad happy. Keep up the good work and Happy Easter.
Good show mate the best car review in Australia .. more useful info on how a brand and model are likely to perform over time if you buy one new or used ...and the stuff particularly from Jim is a lot more useful than knowing about how soft door trims are or the size and number of cupholders .👍
Tony thanks so so much mate. - AK
I have owned my I30N for four years now and I am so not bored with it. Also it still looks good 👍.
I picked mine up yesterday. Love.
Love the way these look in the blue
Kacke das tut mir leid für dich

Ah Kane thanks so so much!! - AK
The best thing I love about the i30n is the fact they don’t used big named brands that add a premium price to unnecessary things and just use their own brand to keep the cost down that makes this car affordable for a lot of people over the rival cars
I can't stop seeing the dent on the right wing, I'd have to have that taken out! Great work as usual though ReDriven.
Great review as always mate, these i30ns are great
Cheers Dallas - AK
I've been eyeing this car off! Thank you for this ...now off to find one!
This is actual one might be for sale. - AK
Working on Hyundai's in America we don't have I30 N's but Veloster N's have the same powertrain when the tech mentioned the failure of the high pressure pumps, as they fail they over pressurize the fuel rail and the car will bog down past a certain rpm. I've seen it twice.
Glad Hyundai has improved. Just like everything in life's there is budget, expensive and then luxury. Everyone deserves the best for their level.
Very good video. Can’t believe how reliable these are.
This was at the top of my shortlist in 2020, preferably in the blue. It got pipped at the post by the Civic Type R I ended up picking up... but I think I would have been almost as happy in the i30N
Civic Type R is still one of the best cars I've ever driven Pete. I cannot wait till we review one. - AK
This is actually my "affordable" dream car. I want car to serve me, but I do want to have a fun with it as well, however I don't want to spend an absolute fortune for a car.. This seems like great option. I hope I can buy it in a few years.
One of these will be my next car. I’ll skip the sunroof great review 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video! definitely investing in one
Im still very happy with mine, great little machine, would recommend.
The height gag never gets old. Gold.
Such an underrated car , hope it stays that way only reasonable priced performance hot hatch.
love this channel doing all used performance car reviews, good for enthusiasts like me.
Thank you mate! Glad you’re enjoying it
German prices are a bit off, the cheapest ones are about 21-22k€ with 80k+ km. Normal ones with around 20-40k km are about 25k€. The 14k € are mostly fake. Otherwise great car, been driving one for about a year now, no regrets.
Still a great review. Just need you to track down a sedan n, Mr. Morris and show us sedan n owners some love!
Stop raving on about hard plastics. It’s a left-over from Euro testers. We live in Australia, it’s hot and they last. Not sure who drives around scratching their dash, anyway. Otherwise, good review.
Really good point, I’m making a point to get away from hard plastic chat moving forward. Thank you. - AK
Great review and thanks for making the content 👊🏽
Our pleasure mate!
I had an i30n for just over year.. was a brilliant car and managed to get alot of attention for a hyundai
Mine experienced some gearbox problems going from 1st to 2nd, it was an intermittent fault where I could not go into 2nd.. but overall it was brilliant car and really fun to drive
I’m looking forward to your I20N review please
Thanks so much for watching and commenting but ReDriven has a bit of a “must be more than 3 years old rule” but in 3 years, we can’t wait to feature the i20 N. - AK
Love the blue!
Love the signiture blue hero n colour .so bigger all goes wrong with them shame the same can't be said about GTI golf
I clicked on this by accident, was looking at reviews on the hyundai veloster n 2019-2022 it's a really good car especially for the price point. I'm going to compare it to this one, nonetheless, I already made up my mind of the veloster n 2022.
Also in my country we drive on the right side, so if anyone has a link to ordering it in a right hand drive that would be great
Never owned or driven any Hyundai. That said, I rate them very highly and don't think I'd be disappointed buying one. Pretty sure I could even live with the red stripe "defect".
One of the funnest cars I've owned
Just a question, I love engine sounds but can it be quite when I need it to be? Does the engine sound get annoying on a long road trip?
Yeah man it idles with a low growl, and drives very quietly. But once you engage N mode, which is a button on the steering wheel, the growl comes back and it produces the pops and bangs etc. It is like 2 different cars, quite clever and so much fun!
What Pisses Me off, Big time , when you Press the hatch boot on the fob. The Boot should pop Open . Or better off have it pop open.
I always wanted this car from the beginning. One day maybe
Another good review even if it doesn't float my boat as it were!
No, nothing wrong with it it's just too bloody small for me.
Roll on to your next review.
Check out the fastback its bigger
Great video guys! Quick question - assume that these findings would apply to the i30 N-Line as well?
had my 2019 for a year, no problems so far. Great fun car, not a fan of the performance blue
After csreful considerstion and a lot of talks to my accountant (wife) i actually managed to get myswöf one although i bought a project C
Could you start putting a set of golf clubs in the boot in your reviews? Would be a good reference for size and a selling point to a player 😅
I'm surprised the mechanic didn't address Theta II engine concerns at all - the engine variant loaded into this car. Theta II problems are so ubiquitous in the US that it has pretty much destroyed the brand in this market.
The boot in the fastback is bigger! :)
Does anybody know if you can fit facelift's i30N headlights and taillights to the pre-facelift model?
Good review!
No unfortunately the headlights are different and won’t fit properly unless you use the face lift bumper too. The taillights look the same though and would probably fit, but are very expensive new. Once a few appear in wrecking yards it will be cheaper to upgrade the tail lights.
Awesome review, maybe easier for me to think about buying one over a Megane RS
Thanks Chris. - AK
Buy, in a heart beat.
The last time I czeched hahahahaha 💀💀💀💀💀

Yay for performance blue!
Do you think it is worth getting the 2024 model of this in today's market? 52k plus on roads for dealer demo or about 59k for new referring to N Premium. Or are some of the earlier models better value?
Everyone dropping their embargoed i20N reviews.
ReDriven: fuck ya. Here's something that's way better for your cash.
Is the i20n better value ?

I went out to buy an i30 in 2019. Dealer would not let me go for a test drive and wanted 48500 for the nicer version. Went down the road and got a golf r for $46500 drive away. No brainer.
I’m waiting for the i30N sedan. Then I’ll be buying one.
Hi guys have you done a Kia Cerato GT review I'd be interested in.
I just bought a 2019 i30n performance lux pack with 30,000 km and my only negative is the tyres. The previous owner has put on new cheap tyres and it wheel spins in the dry. What would be a good tyre to replace them with.
Please do a review of the i20n please.
European cars are less and less relieable in conpare to Asian, specially Koreans. I have driven this car once and am absolutely thrilled. Am thinking of selling my BMW and buying one i30N Perf Facelift Fasback. At least for few years have some fun without expensive repairs which you get with european cars
I've had an i30n for about a month the only issue I have is the headlights aren't the brightest
Have you reviewed the haval h2? Can't find a 2023 review
